Across the Spider-Verse Across the Spider-Verse Box Office Thread

Imagine how much more it could have in a less crowded month.
That's honestly a big takeaway from the box office this year. I'm really happy to see the numbers this movie is doing. The lack of premium screens, and simultaneous releases this month, was a mess though.

Good Monday hold. Still looks to be No. 1 though Elemental is right behind with a 2.6 estimate.

ATSV is still $13.2M ahead domestically compared to GOTG Vol 3. 25 days into its theatrical release. It's about to face an insane amount of competition, but it might still have a small shot at 2nd place domestically for 2023.

Indy, Insidious, Mission Impossible, Barbie, and Oppenheimer all want a part of that box office pie though. The fact that it might come close on a $100M budget versus $250M is a huge win. :D

One other notable milestone: after last weekend, the combined WW box office for Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse has topped $1 billion - $1.018B. That’s on a production budget of around $200 million combined.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

For those still keeping score, AtSV passed $300 million OS last weekend. That looks likely to be its last nice round milestone. Barbenheimer hit it pretty hard (domestic took its first 50%+ drop since week 3) and appears to have snuffed out any hope of 400 domestic or 700 WW. Still it’s at 375/675 and will add a few million more as the dregs of the run play out. A great box office performance by any measure.
