Discussion: Relations with Russia

In other words, get the **** out of Ukraine, Russia.

Article 5 provides that if a NATO Ally is the victim of an armed attack, each and every other member of the Alliance will consider this act of violence as an armed attack against all members and will take the actions it deems necessary to assist the Ally attacked.

In other words, get the **** out of Ukraine, Russia.

This was actually misreported. Biden merely said that he would support Ukraine's admittance, if it meets the necessary criteria, especially when it comes to tackling corruption:

Biden is simply reaffirming what has been the official position of both the US and NATO since 2008:

And despite what Biden says, the presence of regular Russian troops on Ukrainian soil does present a very serious problem were the country to join, since according to the terms of Article 5 of the NATO alliance, the US and all other member states would be obliged to go to war with Russia.

That is why Russia is hoping the Ukraine does not get admitted. It is a sticky situation and could get very ugly fast. Putin wants the old Soviet Union back and this is one step in that plan. Ukraine becoming a part of NATO will disrupt that.

Well... Kirk's given them future tech now, so...

The Guardian (U.K.) - Kremlin papers appear to show Putin’s plot to put ["mentally unstable"] Trump in White House
Exclusive: Documents suggest Russia launched secret multi-agency effort to interfere in US democracy; the documents appear to confirm the Kremlin possesses compromising material on Trump.

Reuters - Putin-linked think tank drew up plan to sway 2016 US election - documents (April 19, 2017)
A Russian government think tank controlled by Vladimir Putin developed a plan to swing the 2016 U.S. presidential election to Donald Trump and undermine voters’ faith in the American electoral system, three current and four former U.S. officials told Reuters.

So much to say to so many, LEFT and Right.

But in the end it all comes down to what was so obvious but so deeply psychologically hurtful to those that stubbornly (at best) denied the truth and what it meant to the wider world:

We were right.

You were wrong.

Live the next few decades being resentful of that.

Go to the grave being resentful of it.

It doesn't change that you were wrong.

On multiple levels.

And Qpublicans are STILL carrying this water for Russia:

Reuters 2017 said:
A second [Russian] institute document, drafted in October and distributed in the same way, warned that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was likely to win the election. For that reason, it argued, it was better for Russia to end its pro-Trump propaganda and instead intensify its messaging about voter fraud to undermine the U.S. electoral system’s legitimacy and damage Clinton’s reputation in an effort to undermine her presidency, the seven officials said.

They're just doing that against Biden since 2020.

The hardcore MAGAts are too committed (And should be! Ba-da da!) to ever admit they fell in love with a Russian asset. They remind me of folks who keep sending pre paid debit card #s to the Nigerian prince of their dreams long after it became painfully obvious they were scammed. They will go to their (early) graves with dreams of a male dominated white ethno state 'Murica bouncing around in their empty skulls.

No correlation can be drawn from this at all. :o

Russian state media are the ultimate sh*tposters. They'll push whatever BS they like so long as it conforms to the narrative that the US and EU are evil, corrupt, decadent and being taken over by gays and Muslims.

And btw, these are the media designed to be consumed by foreign audiences. This is the kind of insanity you see on Russia's domestic channels:
