I have been saying this for awhile and I truly beleivethey are setting up Craig's OHMSS/YOLT. Too many signs pointing towards it imo.

That's an intriguing idea.

I've been thinking a lot about what would happen if daniel Craig decided to leave the franchise. Usually they just sub in a new guy but Craig's bond has been lucky enough to go through a progression from relative new guy to the tank we saw him as in skyfall.

That makes me wonder if they might be setting him up for an actual death scene and then doing the increasing in popularity idea of bond being a code name not a guy which would make it easier for someone like idris to take the role. I'm not sure how I would feel about seeing bond die or the code name business

Just watched Casino Royal, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall all yesterday.

I have to say that Daniel Craig is the second best Bond ever.

Sean Connery
Daniel Craig
George Lazenby

top three easy!

I think most people who have read the books hate that idea.

And an official behind the scenes video:

Looks fantastic.

Be still my beating heart! :hrt: I can't wait to see that sequence, it is going to be special I can feel it. I hope the cable cars are in it so they can do something similar to Where Eagles Dare! :awesome:

Gawd yes.

Excellent! :D

Bond being a codename is BS. there is too much evidence against it. Bond being a Time Lord makes way more sense

I doubt that Sam Mendes went out of his way to specifically show that "James Bond" WASN'T a codename in Skyfall only to immediately make it a codename in these next two movies. That makes little sense.

Who is that? The pic is so blurry that I cannot tell who's holding the gun on Bond.

It's spider-man. He's going to be in all movies from now on

Watching the video the first time I had an automatic Pavlovian response to the clip in this gif, nearly shouting, "YES"
Craig commands the screen. Lazenby's Bond packed a mean punch (the overdubbing and editing style helped), and Connery could hold his own in brawl. But no other Bond has Craig's level of ferocity. I believe him as a one-man super agent taking on the world and winning, and he also has the emotional depth.

Craig as Bond does have a very visceral energy in everything he does.

The code name theory will never happen and is and was always a silly idea. Furthermore, Skyfall, the film you mentioned in your post, completely alongside films like OHMSS, FYEO, LTK, GE, TWINE, DAD obliterates the code name theory. People (generally speaking) need to stop being stupid and accept the purpose of recasting. It's not thermonuclear quantum mechanics.

Timothy Dalton could get pretty damn brutal as well. And ironically one of the most intense/brutal fights that I've ever seen in a Bond film was the Bond/Trevelyn fight in Goldeneye, and that was coming from the "soft" Bond Pierce Brosnan. He and Sean Bean really sold the physicality of that brawl. I was wincing at a couple of points during it.

I'm not only talking about the fighting though. Craig delivers a visceral energy that runs through his whole performance, especially in Casino Royale.

I disagree, with respect. If Bond dies, then the 007 code isn't retired out of respect, someone else will get it. Just like M.

There could be a scene where they are all being debriefed, the 00's. A new guy/woman walks in, he/she could be introduced as '006, Alec's replacement' (a nod to golden eye).

This would then show that the 00 prefix is simply a code.

Allowing a new 007 to take James's place if ever he were to be retired

The code name theory is silly. So Bond was a code name, what about Felix Leiter, who was played by appox. 200,000 different actors.

I think he was talking about 'James Bond' being a code name, not the 007.

Yeah 007 IS a code name, or number as the case may be. But some people are still trying to argue that "James Bond" is also a code name, and there have been multiple movies over both continuities (including the most recent one) that contradict that notion.
