I have a prediction as to the 300 billion or so of confiscated Russian assets. That is assuming they find it as there are some claims that they're having a hard time tracking it down.
I think that they're either going to confiscate it or barter it, but it won't go to benefit the people of Ukraine.
Russia is going to win the war and Washington/Brussels know it. But a lot of wealthy Westerners (Blackrock, etc) have assets in Ukraine. They've bought up a lot of the farmland, for example. They were going to loot Ukraine for the next century. And if the West loses Ukraine, those assets will be written off. Like imagine if North Korea conquered your state, and cancelled your mortgage, car loans, and credit card debts -- Washington would compensate Wells Fargo.
So what they might do is compensate Blackrock, etc with the Russian assets, and call it a quid pro quo. The lawyers will sign off on it. Or they'll return the assets in exchange for Putin not cancelling the debts.
Since Putin has neoliberal tendencies, he might go for the latter.
