That sounds a lot like what The Avengers game served for endgame content, aka generally a waste of time.

The first several big updates for Avengers actually had story missions, and didn't require you to grind to unlock the new characters, so this is actually much worse. Avengers lowered the bar so that Suicide Squad could trip over it and knock it to the ground. That sounds a lot like what The Avengers game served for endgame content, aka generally a waste of time.

This game is reminding me of the Flash's box office, I wasn't expecting it to succeed, but the level of failure it has managed to achieve is its own kind of impressive, this game WISHES it was Avengers or Anthem. At this point it takes a Miracle for this game to survive the year.
The one thing i could see helps for a while, is to make it PS+ and release the whole current road map...but i doubt the characters are finished to do so.
i dont see how you breath new life into this game at this point.
I mean...the flash movie at least got its basic budget back(allegedly)...i doubt this game can get do that. This game is reminding me of the Flash's box office, I wasn't expecting it to succeed, but the level of failure it has managed to achieve is its own kind of impressive, this game WISHES it was Avengers or Anthem.
If WB is already dragging it and blaming Rocksteady, yeah it seems more and more likely that it wont survive the year.Yeah, Rocksteady is done. I don't see them finishing what they have planned.
When they started their project that would turn into SSKTJL, Live service multiplayer games werent the garbage they are right now.Rocksteady wanted to make a live-service multiplayer game. This is at least partially at their feet. Seems rather convenient that Sefton Hill and the other studio heads ditched the studio before this came out and when abuse allegations started surfacing. Seems like they knew they had a bomb on their hands and abandoned ship while the getting was good.
Everyone wants a simple scapegoat here, but there are probably multiple layers and levels of blame to go around.
They should've just let WB Games Montreal finish their Batman Beyond game instead of forcing them to make that Gotham Knights trash.
Yup, i avoid them as much as i can.As I've said before, live service games are a scam. This is why I'm done with live service games.
"Normally" from what i gather, more often than not, live service games that dont take off...are starting to lose support from the developmental team after around 6-8 months.‘Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’ Ends Its Weekly Updates
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has launched Episode 2 of its first season which, as you might expect, has not exactly burned the barn down in terms of playercountwww.forbes.com
Despite the internal concerns among frontline workers, executives from Warner Bros. kept reviewing demonstrations of the game and sending laudatory feedback, praising the graphics and saying they expected Suicide Squad to become a billion-dollar franchise.
At the time, the broader industry was growing increasingly fixated on "games as a service" — such as Destiny and League of Legends — which generate sales long after their initial release, continuously reengaging players with endless updates and raking in fresh profits year after year. Armed with a battery of presentations, Warner Bros. executives traveled to London and made the case that the growing category was the industry's future.
Rocksteady executives soon decided that, in keeping with their parent company's newfound enthusiasm, Suicide Squad would become an online multiplayer game with live-service content.
Later, [the Rocksteady founders] started a new studio called Hundred Star Games, they told potential recruits from Rocksteady that they would have the opportunity to make a game free of the mandates and pressures from a corporation like Warner Bros.
