The Avengers The Avengers Post Screening Review & Discussion Thread (SPOILER FILLED) - Part 3

What i've seen in that clip impressed me in terms of Thor's power level. That's why i was curious to know if he or Hulk are in any physical peril in the movie, seeing as Thor tanks repulsor blasts and punches comfortably enough without any visible damage. Also crushing IMs armour with his bare hands, good strength feat, which was missing from his solo film. The head butt exchange was a thing of beauty.

That was epic. But i'm curious... people who already have seen the movie say that it will be a epic and equally power level Hulk vs Thor fight, so i just don't get that Thor cannot beat Iron man :S

When Cap stop them, are they were tied in fight?

Thor's got the upper hand and IM starts pontificating how he needs to get the hammer away from Thor. Nothing IM was doing was even phasing him. Then Cap swoops in to stop them from continuing the melee.

Hulk definitely has the more defining "strong man" moments in the movie for what it's worth. Does that take away anything from Thor? Not one bit.

So, are you saying that Thor instantly back up from any attack of IM? well, "its something" xD

What wass u're favorite fight? in you're opinion can you tell me by order the character who has more epic action or steal the show moments? (final battle, or anything) thanks

What's great is that they all have epic action and steal the show. Ranking them seems a useless endeavor since at the end of the day you're going to love them all

Sounds good, apparently i have nothing to worry about from this movie.

The only thing that baffles me is Thor ( i really wanted to see him so strong or powerfull).

Seems strong enough to me. He was never going to obliterate IM like he did that time after Civil War. But from what i've seen he definitely seems strong and durable enough.

For the sake of the characters, Whedon couldn't have Thor pulverizing IM. He had to be more subtle about it. Don't get me wrong though, I think it would be funny to watch Thor pop Stark's ego.

Heh yea it would have been cool to see Thor bring Stark back down to Earth with a massive bump, but yea, was never going to happen in the film.

Sometimes wonder what people expect out of these movies. What purpose would it serve to have one of the mains rendered totally ineffective and completely humiliated by another one?

OOOOOH I ALMOST 4 GOT...What tha hell do stark'z bracelets do???????????????????

i'm just saying that iron man doesn't deserve an equal fight with Thor only 'cause he's popular .

So, none was winning until Cap stop them? and How was Thor vs Hulk? Where was Cap and Iron during thatn battle?

I think you fail to understand the delicate nature of depicting power levels via film as it relates to the story and the character interactions, since there are so many different powered up heroes.

[BLACKOUT]Nobody was pulverising anybody, but IM was giving all he had while Thor would shrug it off. It was clear at the end that if it continued Thor would've won.
During the Hulk/Thor fight Cap and IM were working together to save many lives.[/BLACKOUT]

It's not that nobody was winning ..... IM clearly wasn't causing any damage on Thor and every time Thor hit IM, he clearly packed the largest wallop.

Cap had to parachute off the plane first. He has two important moments in this scene. The first where deflects a shot IM was gonna fire at Thor and the other where he absorbs Thor's hammer strike after he tried to get Thor to stand down. He wasn't an aggressor in the battle by any means.

Thor vs. Hulk is my favorite fight. Definitely the heavyweight bout of the day.

Whedon finds clever ways to get the inter-hero fights to suddenly stop ..... in such a way that the viewer can decide for themselves who won, like boxing judges scoring the fight.

Hey Rock:
"It looks like it runs on some sort of electricity"
"...*sigh* well.. you're not wrong"
ROFLMAO!

I'm happy knowing that we have more movies with these characters, giving them more opportunities to have increasingly better feats in each one. Just like in the comics, Thor didn't start out doing all the stuff he can now. He had to work towards it. We went from seeing Thor doing pretty cool things in his movie to seeing him doing some hardcore **** in The Avengers... can't wait to see what's in store for Thor 2.

Hahah .....
Where Cap was trying to help Stark repair the blast on the Helicarrier. I remember he also asked him to speak English. Too funny.

I love how they played up Cap's lack of modern day familiarity. Remember the "flying monkey" part? Cap was like "I got that. Just thought I'd say I got that one." .... or something like that after he felt so stupid listening to Stark and Banner's technical talk.... LOL.

If thor can fly, why was it a problem for him ro get ejected out of the carrier?

Yes. Love it. And it was so well done. [BLACKOUT]He wasn't made to look stupid, you understood that it was a cultural/man out of his time, thing.[/BLACKOUT]
