^ We'll probably be waiting forever. :( I might email Sony to pester them lol, can't hurt.

Watching SM3 right now, and I never noticed this in the background of Dr. Connors' office:

Cute.

This picture makes me sad. Would have loved to have seen Dylan Baker as The Lizard in a Raimi Spider-Man movie. They built him up well throughout the trilogy.

Trolls are not allowed in this thread. It's strictly for people who love Raimi's movies.

For the life of me, I never hated the twist scene between Harry and MJ.

I'd rather watch extended scenes of emo!Peter dancing than sit through another Marc Webb Spider-Man film ... But to each their own! ;)

I've heard that there were quite a lot of scenes of Sandman and Black-suited Spidey that were left on the cutting room floor. I've heard rumors about a scene where Marko confronts a doctor, hands him a bunch of money to treat his daughter, and the doctor tells him there's nothing that can be done to heal the kid. I'd be really interested to see this!

Also, speaking of Sandman, to those who have listened to the cast commentary for Spider-Man 3: I found Thomas Hayden Church to be fascinating while listening to it. Everything he said about his character (as well as the other characters) was interesting and full of substance. Granted, it's been a while since I've listened to that commentary, but I remember being really impressed.

The original scene where Venom gets Sandman to team-up with him was much better. Marko is in a sandbox in a park and becomes a giant sand castle for his daughter, after she leaves he goes back to normal and is confronted by Eddie who threatens and forces him to team up to get Spider-Man.

But yeah, TASM 2 has easily become the worst Spider-Man movie.

That sounds awesome.

Man, apparently there were a lot of different/alternate ideas for Spider-Man 3 that seem so much better than what was actually in the movie (the idea of Gwen getting kidnapped by Venom instead of MJ, thus making MJ the one to convince Harry to help Peter is one that sticks out to me the most).

I don't hate Spider-Man 3, but I acknowledge its flaws, and I acknowledge that it's far below the quality of the first two movies. Hearing about some of the original ideas for the film make me sad, though. If those original ideas had been seen through, I think we would have gotten a much better movie. Ah well.

After seeing the new movie, I may need to watch the Raimi movies again!

Yeah, this sounds like the "We have to forgive each other" part that MJ says the trailers but was never in the movie.

Yup, yup. I'm assuming so as well. That quote in the trailers was really good, too!

I know what you mean. I even just like looking at the Blu-rays sitting in the shelf, knowing I have them and what great films they are.

:up: Exactly what I do. Planning to revisit the Nolan bat trilogy soon.

:yay::cwink:

I'm still waiting for a Spider-Man 3.1.

C'mon already!

You'll be waiting until the end of time, I'm afraid.

Ohya, dunno why they switched it out with the one in the final film, nor the alternate of Penny stopping Flint from killing Peter and then the story about how he killed Ben...definitely better than the final product.

On a slightly related note, I just got back from TASM2...wtf that movie was awful. I miss Raimi so much more now.:csad:

This is what I wrote on Twitter last night right after seeing it and right after my other 10 tweets complaining about it.

Couldn't help but think about how there's 3 villains in this movie and Doc Ock in the Spider-Man 2 that came 10 years before it is vastly superior to all of them.

In fact, he's by far the best villain in any Spider-Man movie yet.

I'm not sure which one I want more. Spider-man 3.1 or the score for Spider-man 3. Both of which I'm sure will never be released. :csad:

All of Raimi's villains were solid. Yea, coulda used more development on Venom/Sandman, but they weren't bad. Compared to freakin' Webb's they look like Ledger's Joker. But yeah, Ock is still the best villain in a Spidey film...which is both a great and a sad thing.:csad:

Seriously imagine if we got to see Dylan Baker's Connors turn into the Lizard. Would have been Raimi's most developed villain probably since he would have appeared in 2-3 films before turning into a main villain.

I don't know Raimi didn't just stick with this idea. Then we may have gotten a Spider-man 4. Instead he tried to introduce the Vulture again(yawn)and the Vultress or whatever the hell else was supposed to be in the film.

Vulture could've been great for arial battles. Also, didn't Sam want to use Lizard, and Sony said no?

I heard Sam wanted to use Vulture, but Sony felt he wasn't popular enough. At least not by himself as the sole villain.

Eh. I've never been a fan of the character, and it's always annoyed me that Raimi seem to want to include him in the series so badly. Maybe seeing him on film may have changed my mind but we'll never know now.
I've never really even heard of the Lizard being used in part 4. I mean,I remember in a few magazine articles that Sam said he'd be up for putting him in the film, but I've really heard mostly Vulture talk, maybe some involving the Black cat and Anne Hathaway.

Not a huge fan of Vulture either but John Malkovich could have done a great job with the character. Aside from Topher Grace, the Raimi movies have done a great job with the casting of the villains.

Honestly,I really liked Topher as Eddie. Or at least I think he would've made a great Brock/Venom. I'll blame Sam and the writers more than Topher Grace. His Brock was ok,but Venom was a bit too jokey and not nearly as creepy or threatening enough. Although I am a bit pissed at Grace too because if he was such a huge Venom fan like he claimed, then I don't know why he didn't stand up and offer his advice on how the character should act and behave(like for example, saying "We" instead of "I.")

I think Sam wanted to use Lizard in SM2 but then went with Doc Ock? Don't remember the whole story. Anyone know this info that wants to chime in? Lol :)

No, they say on the SM-2 special features that they set their minds on Doc Ock from the get-go. Ock is one of Raimi's fav villains:

"Fred's doing a fantastic job, really bringing this man to life, and I think it will be a great imposing villain that Peter Parker will have to face," Raimi said. "He's one of the Spider-Man favorite villains, at least one of my favorite villains"
