According to who?

Personally, I would think there female and children demographics are getting more involved.

A lot of females are enjoying the Gwen/Peter dynamic; meanwhile, Sony continues to censor some scenes for children.

I've surprisingly seen quite a few females at my local comic shop and Barnes and Noble checking out Spider-Man comics. I think the current series has definitely sparked their interest a little more.

Well it's great that the female readership is increasing but there are other females that want a great story and I hope Sony doesnt interfere with webb's third film because after what happened during and after the amazing spiderman 2 Sony has and needs to make this movie good and I hope they hire great writers that people outside of the studio loves.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 is likely selling becsuse parents buying it for their kids.

The movie still sucks and still performed worse than any other Spidey even with higher ticket prices AND 3D. That is pathetic.

I agree that ASM2 definitely tried a little too hard with appealing to the younger audiences.

Pretty sure I could watch it as a 12 y/o and still find stuff in there silly.

Much like there's probably some 5 year olds that watch the USM cartoon and find it to be rather dumb.

With ASM2, it's like they were trying to appeal to everyone. Gotta have this. Ok check. What about this? Oh yeah, need some of that too. Check. The editing, pacing and script also suggest they were aimless in their direction.

That's basically what my interest in the DVD sales came down to.

ANE was giving a pretty bleak picture the other day about DVD sales and now we're here with it #1 on the charts!

And all of a sudden the competition, or lack thereof, matters! Nobody considered the competition TASM2 was with in cinemas though! Its a very interesting conundrum, and I'd venture to say its affected by the same factors as the situation I Am the Knight put forward.

Interesting times certainly.

I think we can all agree that its a better situation than it not selling anything? And from memory, TASM was not a best seller. I'm far too dumb to remember SM2's sales, I'm going to venture to say all 3 Raimi films were best sellers.

TWS is on Sale in Aus, there's probably numbers about it there
