Where do X2 and FC fit in your ranking?

Just finished watching the film, haven't seen it since theaters and still love it! For me it's a tie between X1 and DOFP, I just have a big soft spot for X1, it's what got me back into comics way back when, again massive soft spot.

Its just a very intimate film and its pretty much the catalyst when it comes to successful and well-received superhero films. This one started it all! :mnm:

So you prefer the films with the original cast more? I think Duran Man and Endzone prefer the Ot cast films too more than the other three.

Not sure how I missed your reply psy!

The original films and cast made me fall back in "love" with X-Men after the X-Men:TAS ended, and for whatever reason I stopped with the comics...

...the films and the original cast reignited my love for the X-Men...and it's been that way since...

:yay:

side note: While TLS is flawed I don't think its as bad as its reputation, I think the only weak link is X-O:W, and FC being above Origins doesn't mean I think its on or near that level, FC's place is merely my preference, it's a well made movie, but X-O:W dead last...well, theres a lot wrong with it, but I still enjoy it to a degree...hope that all makes sense...

I also feel like the Ot cast feels more X-Men.. tbh I am not really that excited for X-Men Apocalypse because they arent in it. You know in the comics I wasnt interested in First Class, X-Men Forever Uncanny X-Men First Class.. I prefer the story to progress in the present setting... but since this is a movie Im not skipping it but my interest isnt that high now. I wanna see the characters we saw in the new future not their younger selves.

I'm very, very excited for X:A based on the quality of DoFP. However, I too am not as excited as I would be if the OT cast were involved.

I'm thankful they're not involved. One time-traveling film was enough, and the original cast got the perfect send-off in the altered future. Now it's time to see what happened leading up to that new future. If both casts had to be juggled again, characters who're getting their origin stories (Scott, Jean, Storm, Kurt, Jubilee, Angel etc.) would be shafted and their involvement would be cheapened.

I agree with all of this. Although I tend to lambast TLS and give the movie a hard time, it's really just the stupid choices the movie (hence the director/writers) made with most of the main characters that annoys me. And Ratner's ADD directorial style.

aww... i'm excited for Isaac's apocalypse, the x-men (finally daylight heroes?), the horsemen, and for Wanda (???). But I am a bit sad there's no Rogue or Gambit.

It seems to me the franchise will need a film with mature, middle aged heroes. X5 could do the trick, if the actors could come back charitably.

Bald Xavier. X-men recruitment. Mutants day out (mall). New costumes. Storm Mohawk. Nightcrawler in a friggen Thriller jacket. Danger Room (?).

After 2 films of the franchise with no team and to finally have an actual X-men team. What's not to be excited about? :loco:

I'm pretty excited myself...I actually think I was the least excited for FC or the Wolverine films...in any form, I can't wait to see Cyke, Storm and Jean, heck even Nightcrawler...if only it was the OT though...

Part of me just feels this is the film we should have gotten instead of First Class. Still like FC...

Color me shocked.

No you aren't.

I'm mostly excited in seeing Psylocke, Jubilee then Apocalypse and Archangel.

But other than those I'm not that interested in teen X-Men. Xavier should have been bald a long time ago. Storm gets a new hairstyle in every film so mohawk isn't really something shocking. I dont think a Thriller inspired jacket is something to be excited about. Mutants day out isn't really new to the films. And we still have young Mystique/young Beast which I am not a fan of. I prefer to see Cyke, Jean and Storm as adults and they dont have to be young just to be developed well in the films.

I think the problem is you spent so much time bein bias in the past that its now hard for you to let that ago, and you was one of the worst contenders for bias.

And you still keep quoting my posts when I politely asked you not to. So I guess you just disrespected what I said to you. *sigh* Why do I keep clicking *view post*.

EDIT: And fyi, there's no bias here. Like I said just like in the comics, I'm not less interested in the "X-Men: First Class", "X-Men Forever" "uncanny X-Men: First Class" stories and I prefer the story to move forward in the present (and I'm not the only person here who wants that). So can you now stop quoting my posts again and again? Its pretty clear what I said to you didn't matter and you just keep doing whatever you what. And Everytime you respond to my post, you say annoying stuff like calling me biased (which is just one of many) which is really pissing me off. This is like the third time that I'm asking you. Do you still talk to people in real life when they told you, not to talk to them. So please basic courtesy, geez.

Well First Class was supposed to be Young X-Men, with the young Cyclops/Emma that we saw in Origins. Until Singer changed it up.

Then people expected the FC sequel to feature Cyke/Storm/Jean or at least 1 of those three.

So this X-Men Origins: Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm feels a bit overdue.

Yes indeed. If Ratner hadn't been hurrying it all along and had stopped to think and listen, it would have been much better. But i imagine he was under huge pressure and that must have factored into things.

It's funny how DOFP has almost double the votes but looking at the comments you'd expect 50/50 as many are desperate to defend AOU over a fox film

Agreed. The truth is there is evidance the RT scores for both films aren't wrong.

Or maybe they just enjoyed AoU over DoFP. Its opinions after all. And it goes both ways.

I was just pointing out how many DOFP voters didn't comment on why they preferred it, while being satirical. Most people there seemed to enjoy both films, there just seems to be a discrepancy

Yes that's true but you yourself are attacking sullstar based on their own opinion of that thread. A tad bit of a contradiction there TeeKay.

That thread however is very peaceful. There isn't any arguing everyone is just stating their preferred movie. Most people have appreciated both and just say which they prefer and why. It's actually very civil lol.
