Loved Season 1 and am extremely happy that the Punisher, my second favorite comic book character, is appearing in Season 2 and played by an actor I've been a fan of and have touted as a great choice for the role for a while. I also hope that Bullseye appears, but I'm not sure how likely that is as they're already pretty deep into production and I think that they would have announced the casting by now.

I still think it's very possible Bullseye could show up. The first season announced a good chunk of its main cast (Wesley, Leland, Vanessa, Urich) at NYCC last year. The same could happen again.

Also, based on the screen test script that was posted from the leaked videos... Do you think Elektra is talking about any specific Marvel character? I am not sure if this is allowed but here's the line from the screen test. If it isn't allowed, I'll remove it... Could it be [BLACKOUT]Frank Castle[/BLACKOUT]?
Elektra: My partner was a good kid and became a hell of a grown up. But he had goodness in him, once upon a time. The way he tells it, he comes home one night and heard a blow dryer in the bathroom. Dinner's on the table. He waits a second, but he's starving - he's eats alone. Assumes she'll be out any minute - she'll be mad, but she'll understand. Always does. He's a good son. He goes to find her, blow dryer still on and there she is - brains on the god damn mirror!

Do you get the sense that Daredevil and Netflix has raised the bar for Marvel television?
I love "Daredevil." It's very specifically a cable show. Couldn't have been happier with how that show is. I'm going to start watching it for a second time. I think Charlie Cox is amazing -- all that cast. And on the other hand, what we do on our show, that's a different part [of the Marvel Cinematic Universe]. If we tried to make our show like "Daredevil," I think we'd fail. I look forward to seeing how both shows evolve within their own universe, and I pray for the day Agent Coulson gets to have a chat with Daredevil.

Other then that not much.

I don't want to sound like an a-hole, hypocrite, or anything but I'm really happy the DD rights expired and we have this Netflix thing. It could've gone a different path with Fox but to me it was a dodged bullet. I feel for the FF fans with all the backlash the movie has been getting.

How does that make you an a-hole hypocrite?

I'm pretty happy about it too. I think most of us are. I can't imagine too many people sitting around going, "Man, that Netflix show sucked! What we need is an Affleck sequel!!!!"

Yeah. I'm happy that the rushed production of that 70's inspired version that was in development right before the rights reverted didn't happen. The only good thing about it was that Typhoid Mary was supposedly the villain in it, which could have been cool but I'll gladly wait for her to show up on the Netflix series instead.

Damn! I didn't even know about that. 70's inspired could be cool (though better suited for Luke Cage and/or Iron Fist) and Typhoid Mary is always a plus (hope she shows up on the show) but if it was rushed, yeah, chances are it would have been pretty awful.

Fox had very limited time to put together some people after they lost David Slade, the original director, to the Hannibal series. They hired Joe Carnahan who quickly put together a sizzle reel which gave the vibe/tone/feeling of the movie he wanted to make:

Due to Marvel's restrictions, they had very little time to sit on the project as they were going to lose the rights on October 10th 2012. According to ScreenRant, Fox tried to make a deal with Marvel Studios:
Last week, Variety reported that Fox was in talks with Marvel Studios about a potential trade, one that would involve Marvel giving Fox an extension on the Daredevil rights so they don’t have to rush the project, in exchange for the rights to Silver Surfer and Galactus, two key parts of the Fantastic Four mythos and cosmic side of the larger Marvel universe. According to Deadline’s conflicting report however, Fox instead simply wanted Marvel Studios to co-finance the film – an option that perhaps would not benefit Marvel as much as getting the rights back.

I gotta be honest, that's EXACTLY the vibe I hope Luke Cage and Iron Fist have in their shows. And, I think it could have been amazing for Daredevil as well.

With the right creative team and Fox not getting involved, and letting the director do his thing, that could have been freakin' AWESOME! But, also think the Netflix show was totally awesome too, so I'm not sitting here in regret, wishing for what could have been instead of what was.

Anyway, thanks for the insights man. I didn't even know this was going down. I'm guessing this was 2011-2012, somewhere in there? My life was topsy turvy and in a bad place back then, and I just wasn't paying attention to things like this.

Semi off topic, but don't you guys LOVE being Daredevil fans? I was just lurking in the Fantastic 4 threads, curious to see what the die hards thought of the movie. Based on what I saw in there, all I can say is, I feel bad for those poor ******s. I feel fortunate my favorite superhero is being handled well in other mediums. Make Mine Marvel...studios...with Netflix.

Finished watching this again last night, that's the fourth or fifth time now. I've lost count. Soooo good tho.

And yeah I'm very happy the way things are but I will always wonder what that 70's Carnahan DD would have been like. Awesome, I bet, if not for the rush job.

Yeah I think a Daredevil film set in the 70's or 80's would have been very cool. The show has a decent excuse for why their Hell's Kitchen isn't the super rich gentrified neighborhood it really is now, but seeing Hell's Kitchen as it was during it's really gritty periods in the 70's/80's with Daredevil would have been something.

this past week

still I want the right's of this and X-men back at marvel. I also saw fox was trying to get Marvel to allow them to have a live action X-Men tv series after what went down with the reboot FF movie I hope marvel got them to throw away the no mutants rule fox made them bow down to.

But back on topic .

Possible new writers: https://twitter.com/sne_k/status/629495981839519744

I know Sneha Koorse (The Americans, Constantine) is writing on it because her agent has it listed on his LinkedIn, lol. https://www.linkedin.com/pub/corey-trent-ackerman/34/9b7/a20

very cool to hear. Can't wait to see what they put up for the show.

How does that make you an a-hole hypocrite?

More like insincere but whatever. I'm just satisfied :)

Anyway, this is old but there was an interview from EJ Scott with Drew Goddard original showrunner on how Daredevil came about. Interesting tidbits like Drew also wanted to do Daredevil as a movie under Kevin F. His first movie is like the condensed movie version of Season 1 and Season 2 would've been Drew's movie sequel.

Finally wrapped up Season 1 and I thought it was really good. Can't wait to see DD and The Punisher together in Season 2.

I wonder if Matt will ever confront the Fixer over the murder of his father like he does in the comics or if Jack's murder was simply never solved in this continuity.

We never found out who shot Murdock's father in season 1.

Who shot him isn't as important as who orderd the hit, though.

Has anyone heard whether D'Onofrio is gonna reprise his stellar performances as The Kingpin for season two, or at least in the future?
