Captain Marvel Spoilers Thread

It'll definitely be insane to see just how much stronger she'll be in Endgame. The fact that the Russos are going to be the ones to showcase that? :atp:
I can't wait to see what they'll do with her.

I do have to wonder if Monica died in the Snap in present day
I thought of this. Its the only way to avoid casting someone till they're ready. That would also be a great motivation for Carol in her fight against thanos. I hope we see Maria in endgame.

I ask this out of curiosity because I've seen a lot of "at most she's equal to Thor", which doesn't fit what we've been listening about her from Feige, for example.
She's stronger than Thor imo.

Some things simply don't age well, for various reasons, while others become iconic staples of the era, good or bad. It's not more complicated than that, imo. Whether or not you like an outdated reference is subjective. Context is key, though.

I've never seen anyone vehemently against contemporary music in present day films, though. I've seen people against too many references to whatever the "hot thing of the moment" is, that a faction of people don't like and would consider passing fads that they suspect to be irrelevant in a year's time...but I think there's a whole other psychological thing at work there (like acknowledging it in film is immortalizing it in a way it doesn't "deserve" or something).

For example within the MCU - In Iron Man when Stark says "I don't want to see this on your MySpace page" yes, it takes place around that time, but it feels a little weird now.

Same with Shuri going "what are thooose?" In Black Panther. It was a meme, but even by the time the movie came out that line was out of date

You know if Fury just had Goose guard the project Pegasus building and stand close to the tesseract and swallow it in case any aliens try to steal it and S.H.E.I.L.D. can't beat them, could of prevented the Protectors Avengers initiative and saved New York.

Just saying.

She's stronger than Thor imo.
Stronger then Stormbreaker Thor, that can summon the Bifrost at any point and can outmatch a beam powered by all 6 infinity stones?

Doubt it man.

Funniest scene for me: "Its Loading"
My kids had no idea what was so funny or why people were laughing.
Or the internet bar scene. Some kid said out loud, why is that computer so big? Entire room just cracked up. These brats just don't know the struggle.

I just realized that, given the way they handled Lawson, Marvel will have no problem introducing her children in a future movie. Well, at least Phyla and Genis. I don't want a 20-something Hulkling.

Read an article the other day saying that the russos believe she is TOO powerful.
They want to power her down a bit.

They powered down everybody in the MCU. They kinda had to in order for the stories to actually work, which I get.

Carol could probably just absorb that beam and return it with interest, lol.

I think people spend too much time trying to figure out who's stronger.

Though, I believe I just defined comic fandom. Oh well...

That's fine. I'm sure she'll still have a great display of her powers, they're good at that kind of thing

Just some food for thought

I think I liked her suit in this than the new suit in the credits scene. I'll wait until I see it in the next Endgame trailer and the actual movie before really deciding though.

I hope we get to see more of Carol in the next trailer

My theory for a scene from Endgame:
- Carol rallies the Avengers to go fight Thanos, saying "You have me now" as their secret weapon. They show up on his garden world and Carol flies straight at him without a second thought, and promptly gets her ass kicked because she's too cocky. Her and Thor team up and eventually get the best of Thanos, who then reveals "The Gauntlet is useless. Destroyed. The stones can't be harnessed together. You've wasted your time." The heroes then have to return to earth and go on whatever Quantum Realm/Time-Travel adventure to figure out another way.

This way, Carol did still turn the tide, but isn't as all-powerful as she thinks she is at the moment. The Russos love taking their characters down a peg and showing them at their low point. There's no way Carol just comes in and saves the day single-handedly.

I don't love the gold shoulders, but I do love her new hair

I really personally dig the Endgame suit

You guys think that the plane they stole from Pegasus is the basis for the Quinjet?

Even the alien modification slightly explains how hulk was able to go into space and get sucked in to the collectors planet

I'm usually against pointless aesthetic changes to the regular costumes but eh, the post-credits scene suit looked pretty cool to me. I liked the golden... things... on the shoulders.

I just like the overall fit of it more than the original one, not knocking the suit in the movie I still quite like it.

I could see them working that angle in one way or another. Carol may not immediately understand why the Avengers are necessary, and maybe she won't even trust them, initially?

Carol's powers came across perfectly, imho. I never expected that to be a problem at all. One definitely gets the sense that she is up there with anyone, but in a way that fits the universe.
