Pros:
- The time travel is a pro and con to me. If you really break it down, there's some inconsistencies or plot holes, but the way they pay homage to the past was really heartfelt, fun, and emotional. All the call backs worked really well and I'm even ready to try Dark World all over again.
- I loved the role reversal of Tony & Steve, where the soldier finally finds a life outside of constant battle and the once self-centered ego maniac gets to make the ultimate sacrifice for his fellow men. Very poetic. This is RDJ's best turn as Stark IMO, and that final shot of Steve finally getting his dance was beautiful.
- The final battle is easily the craziest thing I've ever seen in a CBM to date. Anyone who was a child reading these books or trying to stage something like that with their toys, especially coming from the 90's where stuff like this was unheard of, you'd have to be dead to not be impressed with it.
- Nebula was a great surprise with how pivotal she was to the plot.
- For me, one of the big gripes over the years was the humor feeling forced at times. In both IW and this, I think they did a good job handling it, for the most part.
- Cap & Mjolnir. "Nuff said.
Cons:
- Maybe it's just me, but I thought the CGI was less impressive than it was in IW. I thought the work in IW was mostly seamless, but here it appeared a little less convincing at times.
- As a Hulk fan first and foremost, I just didn't like the Professor as much as I thought I would. With the time jump we don't even get to see how Bruce comes to terms with himself. When Widow passes, someone who basically stepped in for Betty Ross as Banner's love interest, it all seemed over pretty quick. Of course there's a lot to get through, but what should've been a more emotional moment for everyone, but especially Bruce, got glossed over kinda fast.
- I thought Captain Marvel was going to be a bigger part of all this. Granted, she took the "football" and covered a lot of ground during the final battle, and she went toe to toe with Thanos for a stretch, but being largely absent through most of the movie just seemed...odd.
- IDK, I just couldn't dig "the dude" version of Thor too much. At first it was funny, but every time he was on screen after that just took me out of the movie a little. I also don't know how I feel about him abandoning his role. Yes the movie explains why, and the talk with his mother was well done, but at some point I hope he gets back to being Thor good and proper.[\spoiler]
