Endgame Endgame User Review Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

I thought Starlord lost the celestial part when he killed his dad? His dad told him if he died then that part of Peter is gone too and you see in Vol 2 his “power” leave after Ego blows up.

In theory on a genetic level he should still carry some of his fathers celestial DNA, but any power or link to that died with Ego, rendering any left over celestial coding in Quill completely redundent. As Ego put it, without him Peter would be just like everybody else.

Out of curiosity,
how did the Russos screw up Vision?

Vision does basically nothing in CW, and the movie keeps forgetting he exists during the airport battle. LONG stretches where he is wandering aimlessly in that fight. In IW, he immediately gets stabbed and is dying the whole movie. To the point where far less powerful heroes have to save him. CW didn't use him like at all, and IW made him look weak.

That and Vision's "equation" in CW makes him look like a moron :o

Yeah because he was against all this from the beginning and doesn't want to join the fight unless absolutely necessary.

There wasn't anything moronic about his "equation" in CW. Not sure what's up with that opinion really.

His logic in CW hinges on the Avengers existence inviting challenge and challenge causes catastrophe. But whether the UN decides what the Avengers do or don't do or whether they stay an independent team, they exist. Therefore, they invite challenge. Oversight changes nothing. His argument sounds stupid.

The fact that they invite challenge which leads to catastrophe is why he is all for the accords. Yes there will be challenges and threats due to the Avenger's existence whether they answer to the UN or not but it's about accountability.

I guess Rhodey is also a "moron" for agreeing with him.

It's the argument Vision presents. It makes no difference if they have oversight or not, they invite challenge and catastrophe. Supporting the Accords and such, whatever. Rhodey would be all for it. It's in his character. But his monologue explaining his reasoning would never convince me, LOL!

Please don't tell me you actually "LOL'd", good lord.

Once again and for the last time it's more about accountability then simply oversight. That was the Entire point of the Accords is to make them accountable if they **** up a city or town. If they are rogue then it's vigilantism, but answering to the UN it's official world government business. You even said yourself twice now that it doesn't matter if they answer to anyone or not because there will still be conflict. It's like, yeah no duh, but Vision as well as Rhodey are on the side of being held responsible for their actions. Nothing less, nothing more. No one is saying that if they answer to the UN all of a sudden conflicts and threats will slow down or completely stop. Not the point.

I don't get the numerous questions I've seen geared at Parker still being in High School at the end. He may have been gone for five years but that doesn't give him a free pass out of High School. He still needs to finish the year or two he missed and get his diploma. Lol
True, plus for him it wasn't five years....but why was his pal still in HS?

I agreed with Cap on the Accords, but that's not the point. I am not arguing is merit or not, I am saying when Vision is speaking in that scene, his argument sounds stupid. He could have explained it a hell of a lot better than he does. Hell, he could even have mentioned being accountable for damage, but he doesn't say that. That is my point

After seeing Endgame a second time, I give it a 9.5 out of ten. I definitely prefer it to Infinity War.

I hope China and India can bump it over Avatar, which does not deserve to be number one.
That third act is simply stunning and the first two are nothing to sneeze at. The Trinity action scene and all women team are both stellar moments.

Scarlet Witch and Captain Marvel in particular get fantastic scenes. Black Panther and Okoye do as well.

I loved Falcon being the succeeding Captain (I believe he's the more interesting option).

I also saw it a second time today and it just solidified it as awesome. What a great comic book fan movie.

Welp, this is probably it for me, full circle to complete what (along with TDK) brought me here in the first place. I can ramble a bit, I'll try to keep it as short as possible.

Taken as a one big movie with Infinity War (the same way I look at the Matrix sequels or LOTR) this is 10/10, and the best superhero epic of all time. On it's own, It's a solid 8/10 to IW's 9/10.

Pros:
- The time travel is a pro and con to me. If you really break it down, there's some inconsistencies or plot holes, but the way they pay homage to the past was really heartfelt, fun, and emotional. All the call backs worked really well and I'm even ready to try Dark World all over again.

- I loved the role reversal of Tony & Steve, where the soldier finally finds a life outside of constant battle and the once self-centered ego maniac gets to make the ultimate sacrifice for his fellow men. Very poetic. This is RDJ's best turn as Stark IMO, and that final shot of Steve finally getting his dance was beautiful.

- The final battle is easily the craziest thing I've ever seen in a CBM to date. Anyone who was a child reading these books or trying to stage something like that with their toys, especially coming from the 90's where stuff like this was unheard of, you'd have to be dead to not be impressed with it.

- Nebula was a great surprise with how pivotal she was to the plot.

- For me, one of the big gripes over the years was the humor feeling forced at times. In both IW and this, I think they did a good job handling it, for the most part.

- Cap & Mjolnir. "Nuff said.

Cons:
- Maybe it's just me, but I thought the CGI was less impressive than it was in IW. I thought the work in IW was mostly seamless, but here it appeared a little less convincing at times.

- As a Hulk fan first and foremost, I just didn't like the Professor as much as I thought I would. With the time jump we don't even get to see how Bruce comes to terms with himself. When Widow passes, someone who basically stepped in for Betty Ross as Banner's love interest, it all seemed over pretty quick. Of course there's a lot to get through, but what should've been a more emotional moment for everyone, but especially Bruce, got glossed over kinda fast.

- I thought Captain Marvel was going to be a bigger part of all this. Granted, she took the "football" and covered a lot of ground during the final battle, and she went toe to toe with Thanos for a stretch, but being largely absent through most of the movie just seemed...odd.

- IDK, I just couldn't dig "the dude" version of Thor too much. At first it was funny, but every time he was on screen after that just took me out of the movie a little. I also don't know how I feel about him abandoning his role. Yes the movie explains why, and the talk with his mother was well done, but at some point I hope he gets back to being Thor good and proper.[\spoiler]

All in all, a tremendous effort by the Russo brothers. A magnificent send off, and truly, an epic and rewarding experience after following the saga for so long. I hope everyone enjoys the film, and I hope you guys continue to keep this place alive and interesting for years to come. In the illustrious words of Stan Lee, Excelsior!!!!

Where are the doubters and whiners?

This movie slays and still slaying! LOL

For people that can look past brand loyalty, there's lots to chew on here. I know... Ya'll can't conceive of anything that doesn't say these products are a totally unalloyed good thing as some kind of personal attack. Still... Keep an open mind.

The Avengers Just Took Over Our World. We Need to Talk.

Also understand that I adored this movie. So I'm not trolling.

YASSSSS! I can't wait to see the potential impact of that scene in the future line up of Marvel movies... especially with the FOX acquisition. I can see Queen Storm in a team-up film!

I always thought Vision's argument missed the point. Like they were discussing what kind of pizza they wanted, and he started discussing why he likes chicken wings. Totally irrelevant to the conversation of pizza, although it is food, so they listen to him. Same difference.

Watched Endgame again and I think I like it better now . Still don't like what they did with Thor, how ever the movie has gone from a 6 to a 8.5/10 for me now. My expectations were definitely too high first time I saw it ,didn't let me enjoy it then like I should have.

Same here, his argument always came off as bull****.

Watch it a third time and it'll become a solid 9 for you.

Nah. Some people apparently needed him to spell it out even more. It made sense to me on first viewing what he was aiming at overall in regards to that topic.

I heard that, in the new "avengers" movie, they all turn into cannibals, and The Hulk eats Thor. Is this, indeed, what happens ? I may want to see that.

And now, some deeply serious question:
What the hell happened to IRON KID?
He was the embodiment and the emblem of US fans who cherish the Avengers and totally fanboy over them.
I'm referring to the little kid wearing the gigantic Iron Man toy helmet who met Tony TWICE in "Iron Man 2".
We can also see him at the very end of "The Avengers", on his father's shoulders, HAPPY as hell, having fun for the victory of the Avengers, always wearing his gigantic Iron Man helmet.
I miss him a lot.
