Eternals The Eternals General Disscussion and Speculation thread

Yeah but the final battle in Endgame kinda made *everyone* an Avenger since I doubt the assemble line was only uttered for 6 people. And I get the impression that people nowadays just use the term "Avenger" to refer to any random hero in the MCU :hehe:

I consider Avengers to be the ones who time traveled to get the stones.

I think there is a humanity cleansing giant cosmic god missing from that last image, but that's me.

While the Eternals interest me a lot, the one Eternal that excites me the most is Makkari, for reasons I have already stated.

I dunno…. So Nebula is but Spider-Man who Stark clearly states, “you are an Avenger now” isn’t?

if I’m being honest, I treated Nick Fury more than an Avenger than Hawkeye lol

Though I probably won’t watch it in theaters, I’m happy. 45 Days means, that it’ll be available for purchase before Christmas (probably December 17th). Also, they will drop the teasers for Ds2 and T4 too. And BP2 in January or February - following the trailers for DS2 and T4…

Interesting.

Questions....Do you normally go see Marvel movies? Did you go see BW and/or Shang-Chi? If the reviews are good and it has good buzz, would that change your mind? Is this a COVID thing?

Sorry about piling on LOL, but I'm genuinely curious.

Yes
No and/or No
No
Yes (wearing a mask for 3 hours distracts me of the cinematic experience)

I'm already hyped for this movie but hearing John Campea and Rob talking about what they've heard about the film & how Marvel thinks this is the best film they've ever made(John Campea words) or one of their best films they've ever made(Robs words) Ahhhh can't wait

They start talking about that at the mark 4:16

Those Magazine covers aren't flattering
yeah.. the edit and photoshopping is meh. especially that assemble look.
giving me awful promo art vibe. marvel need to step up..
those magazine's still and cover are always bad tho.. I wonder why.. lol

(the second poster was not good too.)

Meanwhile, the Ebony Blade has been retconned as a weapon that is the inversion of Thor's Mjolnir, a mystic blade whose power increases in proportion to the unworthiness of the one who wields it. But the latest retcon is particularly surprising, because it seems the Black Knight has a secret connection to the X-Men.

Now, it seems that prejudice ran right to the throne of Camelot, and indeed that Camelot's greatest defender - Sir Percy, the first Black Knight - was unwittingly an agent of anti-mutant bigotry.

The Eternals themselves are alien beings that have lived for millennia. They are Earth’s protectors, yet the group did not interfere when Thanos was amassing Infinity Stones.

“[The audience] will understand why,” Zhao assures Total Film in the upcoming issue of the magazine, featuring Eternals on the cover. "Not only why, but how complicated not interfering made them feel. We explore that. You’ll see that in the film. The Eternals were instructed not to interfere with any human conflict unless Deviants are involved. There’s a reason why that’s the case. And that was the instruction from the prime Celestial Arishem."

"What excited me is the idea of going back in time, and exploring [the time] before Thanos was born, before anyone was born," Zhao says. "Where does the MCU go back in time? And that brings us to the mythology of the Celestials. Anything involving the Celestials is going to be at a huge scale level of complication, let’s put it that way.

Eternals director Chloé Zhao says the movie explores the MCU "before Thanos was born, before anyone was born"

"I think we stand alone as a film for sure," director Chloé Zhao tells Total Film in the upcoming issue of the magazine, featuring Eternals on the cover. "But I do think we will have a very big effect on the future of the MCU with what happens in this film. Which, you know, as a fan, is really satisfying for me! I geek out."

. . . that sounds *incredibly* stupid, on so many levels. Sigh, this is why I largely don't follow any actual comics these days. . .

If the leaks are true

One of the end credits has Dane Whitman looking at the Ebony blade and he's trying to touch it a voice warns him against it. If I had to guess the voice is a certain Sorcerer Supreme

Where was this leak from?
