DC Television Gotham Knights Series In Development at CW

It doesnt sound like the dead fish i assumed it would be.
Sure, not like the best thing either...but i expected more devastating reviews.

It might be a decent show on it's own, but when I hear "Gotham Knights," I'm not exactly thinking teen drama... but I guess I'm not the target audience. It's just annoying seeing all these Batman related shows without the man himself. (Or even the actual Bat-family)

We've gotten to the point where we are getting very faithful and excellent comic adaptations with costumes and all.

Weird we are getting this that feels like a late 90's early 2000's comic show where they were scared of the source material and were embarrassed by costumes. Instead of making a completely original show they keep everything they wanted but disguise it with a sprinkle of DC stuff to trick audiences.

Re: episode 1

I thought the execution was decent enough… given the premise. But I’m not (yet) convinced that a CW/young adult/“Batman adjacent”/action-adventure is much of a premise. :ebr:

I just got done watching this and if I'm being completely honest it wasn't actually as bad as I was expecting it to be after those godawful trailers and yet I still wouldn't call it good so far either.

It's somewhat competently made and acted I guess but I still don't feel like the existence of this was justified, especially when its such a generic/watered-down version of some potentially interesting material.

The main problem for me is that it just feels too CW for my taste.

This is bad CW. I can get into CW but this is so bland. Riverdale is much more fun than Gotham Knights even in the first episode. Just the way Riverdale goes for it with how outlandish it is with its soapy nature. It's balls to the wall, like Gotham. Honestly I'd rather this be cray cray if it has to exist.

This is definitely a CW show in every way but I thought it was ok and I plan to keep watching because it’s something to watch and I don’t see it getting a second season so no harm. Yeah just ok is my feeling on it.

THE CW | Gotham Knights debuted to 602K and a 0.1, which is on par with what Walker Independence opened with in the fall (615K/0.1, leading out of the network’s other most-watched program).

Don't worry everyone, I am interested enough to check out the season, assuring its cancellation.

Its weird that it essentially has the same plot as the game. I am curious to see more world building. Not-Dick is bland, but the rest of the cast is interesting.

Halfway through, just wanted to comment that one Ryan from OC wasn't enough here? :D

The guy playing Turner Hayes looks like a young version of Ben McKenzie and the chap playing Harvey Dent looks like an older version (and his name is Misha after Mischa Barton). :funny:

I had no particular need (no need at all I mean lol) for an "MTV" teen Gotham show and this is that, but still it grew on me a bit and I was more entertained than I expected. Will give it another chance next week.

I saw some screen captures of what maybe was supposed to be the Batcave? it seemed like Batman in this universe just had a couple of monitors, no keyboards or actual batcomputer there :D

Not-Dick continues to be the weakest part of the cast. And sadly, the episode kind of revolved around him. The actress for Duella is having fun. I like the Rowes more than Not-Dick, though they really need to give a bit more dimension to their current relationship.

The Court really need to look into their hiring process for Talons.

Haven’t caught up on shows from last week apart from Mandalorian so will have to double up tomorrow.

THE CW | Superman & Lois (650K/0.1) dropped some eyeballs, while Gotham Knights(490K/0.1) gained some.

Duella continues to add just enough spice to the cast to remain enjoyable. The cast is kind of growing on me, though he will remain Not-Dick for the entire run of this show, sue me. Not entirely sure about this weird love... web they seem to be setting up. And it is kind of sad Cullen seems to be a bit left out of the web.

Would love to see the zoning agreement to have Ace Chemicals set up in the middle of the city.
