Superman & Lois General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS!)

Between this current (great) season and the upcoming My Adventures with Superman which I am so excited for later this year us Superman fans are eating this year.

It really seems like the time for Superman will be coming full force.
You got this series, My Adventures with Superman could be good, Superman Legacy kickstarting DCU...and boy are the current Superman Related comics incredible.

Glad we’re going to get into the John Henry and Bruno Mannheim story that was set up last season.

Of course things will be big for Superman this year. After all it's his and Lois' 85th Anniversary.

Last night's episode of Superman and Lois drew 720K, an increase back up from last week.

Cancelled or Renewed TV Shows 2023: CBS, ABC, The CW — View Full List | TVLine

What’s left? The in-transition (and freshly golf obsessed) CW has seven shows still in-limbo: All American: Homecoming, Gotham Knights, Kung Fu, Superman & Lois, Walker, Walker Independence and The Winchesters. Given that the OG All American is currently the only scripted CW show confirmed to return next fall, we suspect the network’s new owners are going to want to hang on to its sister series Homecoming and thus keep their successful Monday one-two punch intact. TVLine’s Renewal Scorecard similarly views Superman & Lois and Walker as safe-ish bets, while Kung Fu could go either way. That leaves Gotham Knights, Walker Independence and The Winchesters in solid “long-shot” territory.

Superman & Lois: Season 3 is currently underway. Season 4 renewal is a safe bet.

A fun look back in the promotion for Road To Perdition , featuring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Jude Law ,Superman and James Bond:wink:.

Tyler was in this?! I need to rewatch. Cool moment from film history that.

So I was listening to the DC Standom podcast and the interview was with Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher and they were talking about how many seasons they wanted the show to go on for and they said 10 seasons…. And they were being serious. Maybe a little exaggerated but it is interesting that they were aiming for that number.

I mean if they could possibly keep up the same quality for 7 more years and match Smallville as the longest running superhero series I would love that but with the direction the DC film and television side is going and at The CW as well we would be lucky to hopefully get a season 4 and it’s looking potentially good on that front but beyond that and Superman: Legacy looming (which I can’t wait for) it’s looking unlikely that the show would move beyond a theoretical season 4 at this point. I am however grateful for how many episodes we have left.

With My Adventures of Superman coming up later this summer we’ll have some hopefully great Superman content on television after this season at least. Ok my babbling is over.

Shame to lose that much potential content with this Supes family including Steel and Nat working so well together. Hopefully at least season 4 gets confirmed. I guess the boys would have totally outgrown the high school drama by a 10th season. :D Cushing marital drama would probably still be going on though.

Personally, I think 10 seasons is overkill and I say that a fan of this show.

Assuming that they can keep up the same quality in writing and production value, I think five seasons in total would be enough. Ending the show when both boys leave for college would provide a nice thematic closure.

I would be THRILLED with 5 seasons, tbh. Most shows, even the great ones, tend to slide downhill in quality after that imo. I’m cautiously optimistic about getting 4, but if we can get 5, that would be absolutely ideal to me. 10 ain’t happening regardless lol.

I think overall five seasons is good but however if they could keep up the quality that the series has managed I’d be ok with 10 when all said is done but it doesn’t really matter since the series most likely won’t make it that far. Yeah though 5 would be the sweet spot.

I'm way behind all of you guys, I've only just started this. Watched the third episode of season 1 today and I'm disappointed with myself for not starting this sooner. This show is great! :D
Glad to have you on board. I’m a fellow late starter. Binged the first 2 seasons about 6 weeks ago. I did originally start ages ago but then lost access when it was removed from cable. Then managed to get the old seasons on Apple TV (I think through BBC). Now finally got access to CW direct for live seasons, even if a bit delayed. This show is unmissable for Superman fans.

I just watched 1×5. Still so good. Hard not to binge it and get behind on everything else, lol. :p
