'Jack Reacher' Series a Go at Amazon

Amazon has given a series order to Jack Reacher, a drama based on the best-selling series of novels by Lee Child. The show will air on the tech giant's Prime Video streaming platform, with a premiere date yet to be determined. The first season will be based on the inaugural Reacher novel, The Killing Floor.


The project grew out of a script-to-series deal, with Scorpion creator Nick Santora adapting Child's book series about a military veteran who lives a nomadic life as a freelance investigator and problem solver. The show could be a big franchise for Amazon: Child has written more than 20 novels featuring the character, which have collectively sold more than 100 million copies and have been translated in 49 languages.

The novels are utterly fantastic, so this could be great. I enjoyed both films to various degrees, but tv...tv is the blood that is life.

Don't care about the height much. I think it's pretty silly to care. Especially when he's only 3" shorter than what Reacher is described as. It's not even like with Cruise who was way shorter. And even then I don't think that would've mattered much if the movies were good or great. But then again I'm not a huge fan of the character. Chris Hemsworth is 3" shorter than Thor and that never hindered his performances. Chris Evans is 2" shorter than Cap and that never hindered his performacnes

Anyway I like Ritchson. Even from his BMS days. Glad he got a major role. His involvement actually has me interested

Been meaning to check out Jack Ryan too. I never heard anything that glowing about it, but it's not like I don't have the time.
IT always just seemed like a CBS show with swearing in it from the trailers. Too glossy, too clean

I was hoping they'd get Daniel Radcliffe. Go even shorter than Tom Cruise this time round.

BTW it says in that article that Ritchson is 6'4" so only an inch off 6'5".

Oh man, I’m so down for this. The Reacher character is cool and Ritchson is a perfect fit, at least physically. I loved him on Blood Drive (still pissed that we never got a season 2). Also heard good things about his role on Titans, though I haven’t watched it.
