BLACK PANTHER. Incredible. Real world building with Wakanda. Great mythology building around the Black Panther. Solid character development. Top notch action. Great narrative. Wonderful villain (rare for Marvel). Killer soundtrack. Fav MCU film since Civil War.

I think the argument can be made for #BlackPanther being the best Marvel film ever! Just got out of premiere & overwhelmed at the imagery, the majesty, & a film that elevates the superhero genre to new heights.

This "weak villains" meme has to die.

While that has been known has marvels weakness but that may start to change after having a lot of praise for vulture in Spider-Man HC and now with it sounding like we may have a good villain in this movie to.

You guys aren’t ready for #BlackPanther. It may be the strongest film in the MCU since The Winter Soldier. Ryan Coogler has made something so firmly fresh and new within the confines of the Marvel universe. Boseman and Jordan are just phenomenal, and I need more Wakanda now.
I still can’t believe this movie exists. Coogler did something so unique, different, and important for not only the MCU, but superhero films in general. Also, the action is just outstanding. I’m just floored by what was accomplished here. This is a cultural event. #BlackPanther

You guys are misreading his rankings. He listed the ones that he felt were the worst. So he's basically saying the movie is mediocre.

If that's how he really feels than it is what it is, but I'm always suspicious of reviews that seem to be built about going against what everybody else is saying.
That's not the way it reads at all though.

I know, he just did a crappy job writing out that tweet. When you read the following tweets you can see him talking about how terrible Age of Ultron was.

It won't change. A lack of "great villains" is an industry wide problem that only marvel gets constantly beat over the head with. it has become a meme that people regurgitate without thought. If a marvel movie villain isn't "great" then it will be called "weak" reflexively. No other genre or studio is held to this standard in the villain department. Maybe because typically there's little else to harshly criticize. No amount of good villains in a row will change things.

From everything I'm seeing about Killmonger's arc, I get the feeling that this is definitely going to be a movie to watch with as Pan-African a group of friends as possible. That much more excited for the conversations this film could spark.

Has January already given us an Oscar front runner? Because good luck to anyone who tries to take the trophy from BLACK PANTHER costume designer Ruth Carter. The Dora Milaje would like a word.

BLACK PANTHER is fantastic. Beautiful, soulful, thoughtful and of the moment. Ryan Coogler knows what he’s doing. Long live T’Challa!

Believe the hype. Believe the buzz. Believe the words “cultural phenomenon.” #blackpanther is about to blow minds and take names. My God. Where to even begin. Long live the King.

And not only is #BlackPanther insanely good, it may also be the most important film Marvel has ever made.

Black Panther. So very good. I cheered and laughed and pumped my fist. I’ve never seen a super hero movie like it. Everybody involved with it deserves a medal and a high five.

#BlackPanther also has as great villain, which can been tough for superhero movies to get right. Actually, I cared a lot about many of the characters.

Don't forget "it looks like TV" and "popcorn movie".

Man these reactions are getting me hyped. I am especially pleased to hear it's the most disconnected from the MCU movie since GOTG as I loved that about hose movies. Subtle hints can be enough, especially in origin/first movies.

BLACK PANTHER: Michael B. Jordan is so damn good he made a dude named Killmonger into one of the most fascinating Marvel characters ever. Starts a little slowly and the action is hit or miss, but it builds to something pretty special.

A superhero film is only as good as its villain, and Erik Killmonger? Has an emotional complexity Marvel hasn’t achieved since Loki in the first Thor movie.

What this character is saying about legacy, identity, and blackness in DIASPORA is so powerful. #BlackPantherSoLit, truly

I was expecting the reactions to be positive, but not to this extent. A good villain? The women steal the show? Is this real life? :hmr:

Why do we have to wait another 2 weeks for BP? :csad: All these positive first impressions are really making me impatient for the movie to arrive.

Reminds me when people got to see Civil War a few weeks before release. The wait was agonizing.

I hope BP can break through the 93% threshold that all of the recent great Marvel films couldn't surpass. Thor Ragnarok came really close, but even with 200+ reviews it still couldn't overcome a last minute surge of rottens that kept it out of the super elite tier.

Loving these reactions!!
