Recently I discovered there are more Star Wars fans out there who don't seem to care for ROTJ than I thought. I'm curious at how many people love the film like I do. Some of the best moments of the trilogy are in this film!

There was even a time when I considered it my favorite Star Wars film.

ROTJ did cop a lot of flak for the Ewoks I guess.

My favorite SW film is still A New Hope, but this ranks right up there. I'm not a huge fan of the prequels.

I love the scene at the end with Vader and Luke. Very emotional considering what both have been through.

Agreed with all those points.

I like the first half of return of the jedi but the scenes on endor are just boring to me, its just a jungle and tribal little bears which seems like a step down from ESB

And i don't dislike the ewoks as i grew up with the first ewoks movie before i ever knew they started out in star wars

The Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars movie, but Return of the Jedi is my favourite.

To me RotJ has the highest highs and the lowest lows of the original trilogy.

I liked this review, you might as well:

Best way to end the movie. Screw you, Lucas!

I just rewatched it. I didnt like it the first time I saw it but having just seen the prequels, I have a new appreciation for this film. I still dont care for the Ewoks and thought Vader's turn to the good side was lame, but this film at least has heart and didnt feel soulless like Phantom Menance. Id rank it 4th after A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith

Im kind of late to the SW craze, having only seen the films for the first time 2-3 years but Im kind of on a SW high right now. They finally got me

This still my favorite Star Wars film, I love seeing Luke become the Jedi Knight and more to it he faced evil directly in the face and yet remained steadfast to overcome it and ultimately he was rewarded by bring about the redemption of his Father Anakin Skywalker.

Worth it. Still my favorite SW movie. Vader's unmasking still brings a tear to my eye.

Return of the Jedi-Not only my favorite Star Wars film, but favorite film all time!

Late to this thread but Return of the Jedi is my favorite star wars movie to but not my favorite movie of all time but in like the top 5.

They're too sexual. Sometimes it feels like Lucas is trying to play out his fantasies, with the half-naked Twi-leks and Slave Leia.

Jabba's Palace is pretty much a den of vice. A night club of sorts. It fit right in and set a tone I wish had continued through ROTJ. I have to say, I would have liked this one a bit more if, perhaps, Luke showed up to procure Han, Leia, and Lando with a cadre of Stormtroopers in tow. Reveal that he decided to swing more toward the Empire with the notion that he could sacrifice some of the Rebellion's principles in order to effect change from within the system.

Spent the weekend re-watching the original trilogy

As much as I loved the climax to Rogue One, I still think the climax in Return of the Jedi is much better. The ground battle with Han and the gang, the Death Star battle, and the duel between Luke & Vader is just so damn awesome!

I know the Ewoks are really divisive among Star Wars fans but I love them! And the funny thing about them, is that without the Ewoks the Rebels would have been screwed LOL
