Gunn’s comments ruffled a few feathers at WBD according to THR. Good.
So, for those of you that saw them, remember my posts about the theories I posited about the first “Justice League” film being an adaptation of “The New Frontier” and the villain being “The Centre”?
Well, someone posted this picture on the DCEU Leaks Reddit of James Gunn re-sharing someone’s Instagram post of a certain popular graphic novel:
If that ends up being the case, I would be over the moon. “The New Frontier” is an excellent book and would make a great foundation for the DCU.
I struggle to think of a better comic to use for inspiration than The New Frontier.
I think their two movies in 2025 is Superman Legacy and The Batman.Going by this it seems like The Brave and the Bold will come out in 2026. They want to release two movies a year so Superman Legacy and The Authority will be first on deck for 2025.
I think he was talking about the studio in general.I don't think the Elseworlds films count against the "two films/two shows" release plan for the DCU.
The only issue with The New Frontier is the time line. You would need to move it up to closer to the modern era.
One of the best stories though so I'm in!

Which ones in particular? Because anything/anyone that ruffles Zaslav's feathers is a positive in my book.Gunn’s comments ruffled a few feathers at WBD according to THR. Good.
I like The New Frontier a lot but I always found the Centre to be kinda... dumb.
I'd say just try to reimagine the Centre a bit. More Lovecraftian chaos entity and less "dinosaur time capsule."I mean, kinda yeah. But it adds up very well with the pieces we know of so far (i.e. Lanterns revolving around the mystery of an ancient Earth-based threat, Swamp Thing tying back to the larger narrative in some way or another, the WW-related project being about the origins of Paradise Island) and it has the added benefit of being a very different sort of threat for a large Avengers-level type crossover superhero film than what most audiences are used to.

Well, because it took place during the Cold War, it dealt with American paranoia of certain things such as the Red Scare, fear of oncoming nuclear warfare, Communism, fear of and distrust of the other, etc. You could just replace that with more modern stuff, like conspiracy theories, environmentalism/global warming, distrust of the government, religious fanaticism, prejudice, etc.
Similar fears, but more applicable to our time.
Should they go for a more muscular Diana this time around? Not pumped/ripped like a bodybuilder, but a physique along the lines of those of British heptathletes Jessica Ennis and Denise Lewis?
