The problem is Thor 4 was released at 3pm instead of 7pm. So that means it's preview number is inflated.

His previous films haven't done over $250M worldwide so I don't think Nope will do massive numbers.

Maybe yes, maybe no, but Jordan Peele's films do still attract a lot of people. So we can't pretend that Nope won't attract viewers like the other already released movies will.

Everything still looks like it's towards a $150M weekend but the Screen Engine/Comscore PostTrak numbers aren't as good with it only getting a 3.5/5 score and 63% definite recommend. For comparison, Ragnarok had a 5/5 score and 84% definite recommend, DS2 was at 4/5 and 77%, and Eternals was 3.5/5 and 57%.

Oh, that doesn’t sound great. :csad:

Yeah I expected this to open somewhere between Jurassic World Dominion (145m) and Dr Strange 2 (187m).

Hopefully it can hit 400m DOM.

So a 5M increase on Deadline’s projections. And it seems to me like they’re still somewhat lowballing their predictions.

Yeah I'd love to see this make it to $400m dom too after MoM, although it will have to work a lot harder if it opens much lower.

Now I'm thinking $350 million domestic, $550 million international, $900 million global finish.

I’m going to wait for the final OW numbers before predicting

I think will actually have to wait to see the second weekend numbers before we can really start figuring out where it might end up. Typically that drop tells us a lot.

‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ Now Seeing $140M-$143M Opening Weekend – Saturday PM Box Office Update
UPDATED, Saturday PM: Disney/Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder held steady on Saturday despite those lower than normal CinemaScore and PostTrak exits we were seeing for a Marvel Cinematic Universe title. The Taika Waititi directed sequel grossed $41M today, we hear, which is 1% above Friday’s true take of $40.5M (That’s $69.5M less $29M in Thursday previews). This will get Thor: Love and Thunder to an estimated $140M-$143M opening per industry projections tonight.
