The Irredeemable Ant-Man has been cancelled...

But where would he fit and what writer besides Kirkman do you think could capture the spirit?

Not saying it is impossible. Just curious as to thoughts. Granted, we still have another few months of the actual solo left. And I guess TECHNICALLY Eric hung around the Mighty Avengers a bit. Tony's willing to employ supervillains or pardon anyone who scrapes him up after fighting the Hulk, so lord knows Eric could fit in somewhere.

Granted, I could see him joining The Loners just to try to sleep with Julie, Mattie, or Turbo. :p
Personally, I hope Marvel takes Kirkman's Where's Waldo idea and runs with it.

That could work to gain new readers. After issue 12 ships and the book no longer comes out, a good way to drum up interest for a second volume could definitely be a "Where's Waldo" approach. It's a good way to expose new people to the character.

I prefer someone just step on him. And you know, kill him and stuff.

I don't think that would work, actually. The smaller he gets, the denser he gets...I think. And I think he maintains his strength as well.

If his powers come from Pym Particles, he doesn't get denser, he just maintains his strength.

Oh, yeah, now he uses Pym Particles? Make up your mind! :cmad:

HA! The last few issues haven't dealt with SHIELD as much, and it's gotten increasingly harder for me to remember exact details as my pull list grows every week.

In all seriousness, he does use Pym Particles. But it's a new formula Pym cooked up.

They're Pym-p particles.

What the hell is a "Where's Waldo" approach? Hide the Ant-Newb in every issue so you can't see him?
Basically have Ant-Man in Ant-Form in every comic Marvel publishes from now on. I think it's a great idea myself.

Who needs to have your own title or spoken dialog what you have exposure like that?

That would've been a good idea if it were one of the Ant-Men I cared about.

I have only read an issue or two of this series, and I did like them. I will pick up the trade when it comes out. Hopefully, it will get saved, but only if when it comes back it can stay well written.:xmen:

So, basically, because it wasn't what you expected, you don't like it? No offense, but isn't that a bit...hardheaded? I mean, at least try to be open to something new. It's one thing if you think the writing's bad, but to be against something just because it isn't what you imagined...
As Elijya hinted at; this Ant-Man isn't supposed to be a hero. That's what they mean by irredeemable. That's what makes it pretty original and fresh, IMO. Nothing Eric (Ant-Man) does is heroic. He's not a good guy. But that hardly makes him uninteresting.

Uh...yeah that's right. I read it, it wasnt what i expected, it didnt grab me, so i didnt continue with it. How is that hard-headed? It isnt like i didnt give it a chance.

And yes; i understand that the guy is supposed to be irredeemable, or whatever, which brings me back to my preference of reading an Ant-Man comic with someone who IS. I'd much rather read about Pym finally stepping up as an A-list character and hopefully bury that stigma of "wife-beater" that Bendis seems obsessed with pinning on him.

Maybe Pym'll catch a break and Yellowjacket'll turn out to be a Skrull. For the last ten years.

I like Yellowjacket. How many superheroes get to blow bubbles with pink gum in the middle of fits and look bad ass doing it? Jubilee stole that gimmick

...

I really hate that I have to explain this.

I'm insinuating that this Ant-Man never be featured in a Marvel comic ever again. Never have a word of dialogue. Never be anything more than a spec in a single panel of every issue published. Would you really want that to happen to a character you like?
