They deserve to lose. Why would anyone play for a team when its controlled by one man anyway

Why should Manning lose those privalages? I don't like him, but he was hit as he threw that ball. THAT is why it went there.

Yeah, it was a bad quarterback decision to not get rid of the ball or take the sack (which he should've done, in field goal range with two time outs left). His arrogance led him to make a bad decision as quarterback. It wasn't a bad coaching decision.

Same. Plus the sense of entitlement he seems to have.

That bugs me, too. This is why I much prefer Brady to Manning. Brady had to earn where he is now. Manning has been everyone's darling since he was drafted and was waiting to be annointed.

I agree that he should have taken the sack, especially with a TO left. But, it wasn't the play call that lost them the game. His arrogance may have, I'd agree there, but the play itself wasn't the problem. Any QB who doesn't make that play call could make the same pass.

That said, glad the Pats won

Exactly. Plus Brady can win big games (people can talk about Manning's Super Bowl win all he wants. AFC was filled with injuries that season and the Bears were the worst Super Bowl team of the past twenty years).

Yep, he ****ed up as QB, not as coach.

That plus Manning's SB MVP was BS. He won that just for being Manning. He was mediocre in that game. Rhodes should have won it. Brady earned both his SB MVPs, and last I still checked, Brady is 3/4 in SBs while Manning is 1/2, and threw the game losing INT in the game. Manning is a great QB, but come the final 2 mins, not the man I want to win the AFC title or SB. That is Brady.

Yep. Cowher was absolutely right on NFL Today this afternoon. Manning vs. BRady, you gotta go with the proven big game winner.

Also, forget his Super Bowl MVP. His past two MVP awards have been total B.S., in 2009 it should've been Brees and in 2008 it should've been a defensive player (either Polamalu, Harrison, or Reed). But the AP just loves to sing Manning's praises so he was given them, no matter how undeserving.

Brees may have lost the MVP to Manning, but defeated Manning where it mattered the most: The Super Bowl, for which he won Super Bowl MVP.

2008 - Michael Turner
2009 - Brett Favre

COMPLETELY agree. Also, did you hear them call this his best season during the game

If he steals the MVP from Vick, I'm going to be pissed.

ESPN is making excuses for the Pats winning. I'm sorry, but MANY teams are not that healthy at this point in the season. That is NO excuse for losing the game to the Pats today, and I should have figured ESPN would start being apologists for Manning and his 3 INTs :whatever:

 Manning has won the AP award for the past two years?

I think he meant that those players should have won the award in those years.

He's still putting up great numbers with lesser talent around him, I'd say the argument is there.

Oh please. Manning is a hall of famer. This is like people dissing Farve. Farve is best QB of all time. Look at stats.

Favre is not the best QB of all-time. He has stats, but that is due to longevity largely. Best Super Bowl era QB for me is Joe Montana. It's not always about numbers, it is about the clutch and winning games. Montana was the best when the game was on the line, pure and simple. Favre doesn't make my top 5.

And I am not a Favre hater, for the record. I think Favre gets a lot of undue hate. But, best of all-time he is not.

Someone jumped the gun :awesome::hehe:...Btw...Have I mentioned that I freaking love Mark Sanchez?

SANTONIO HOLMES is so ****ing clutch it isnt even funny. I got so mad that the Jets let this get away after Greene's fumble when up 23-10. Sanchez just smoothly dropped that long bomb into Braylon's hands and just went cash money to HOLMES!

:applaud:applaud

Top 10 with Peyton Manning? Inclunding stats with everything else.

I really think, when it comes down to it, he's nearly 35 years old and starting to get past his prime. He should take a lesson from Favre and make next year his last and not continue to chase a second ring until he is on the field week after week making a fool of himself. If he wants to stay in the game, I guarantee that Jim Irsay would fire Caldwell tomorrow and make Manning head coach, if Manning were to retire as a player and wanted to go the Don Schula route. But I hope he doesn't taint his legacy like Favre.

This. I still like Montana and Elway more than Farve.

He may make top 10, but def not tp 5. I can name quite a few better than Favre.

Manning would make a great coach, and I think he should go there once he is done. I also would like to see him not taint his legacy like Favre has done. I don't see him winning anymore rings, either. Colts are not the best AFC team anymore. I think he has a few more seasons in him, but he risks becoming Favre if he tries laying at almost 40.

Elways is prob my #2. He lost 4 SBs, but he took less than great teams and made them great, and got 2 rings WAY past his prime. I prob would agre Elway is #2.

You think so? I don't know what kind of coach he'd make. I think at times he is too eager to blame his teammates and unwilling to take responsibility. That is a bad trait for a coach. Plus its one thing to call good plays, its another to draft the right players, pursue the right free agents, make the right trades, manage all the egoes, etc. I think Manning would make a better OC than head coach.

He still has it. But 2, 3 more seasons should be it. He is loaded with money. Also, we need more funny tv ads from him.
