Oh I'm subscribed to him so I know them all. I skipped a couple of his ongoing series, but when there are one-shots like this type of thing I always watch. He just tells people what we as a niche audience think. But he does it way funnier and more entertaining than 99,9% of us could. :)

yep.
cool to finally see hal in these, but nothing beats bats.

it's weird hearing all this talk of earth angst. after all the talk of DC heroes being "bigger" and spiderman could never save the galaxy or even universe. I guess hal does but still.

For the love of god, stop telling people who didn't like it "what did you expect?" That's just so unbelievably weak. Come up with something new, for the love of god.

How about "It's only $8-10....you'll live."?

;)

Surely abrupt would be a better word. Even jarring if you wanna get fancy. :oldrazz:

I actually complained about a couple of the transitions in Thor seeming poorly done. But whoah nelly! They ain't go nothing on the poor transitions in GL.

The ring started beeping when Hammond broke free, it could either sense the yellow energy or just trouble in general. See with a good film we would have been giving a reason as to why the ring was beeping.
Tomar-Re actually explained that the ring senses trouble. :o:whatever: That was pretty clear.

In what way? Kirsten Dunst is a terrible MJ, The GG costume was a joke and was as over the top as Hector Hammond.

Both have third act problems with cheesiness but the final battle and the leading characters makes up for it.

Maybe because you like Spider-man more than GL.
I'm not going to talk about Spider-Man on this board anymore and those are your opinions about the film.

It's not just me that thinks that Spider-Man is the better film. The critics think so and in the coming weeks it will be proven that the audience does too. You are acting as if my opinion in the minority when it's yours that is. Don't let the Superhero hype blacklash fool you the first two Spider-Man movies are well liked films.

You're entitled to your opinion, but it really isn't in alignment with the vast majority... not even close.

If you thought this was the type of film Thor and SR needed to be, fair enough, but IMO those films look like Shakespeare compared to GL.

I hope though, for the sake of non-Batman DC films, that general audiences share the same opinion as you.. but I'm not optimistic.

Indeed. It definitely looks like it's down there.
SR is the worst comic book ever made, on the level of Batman & Robin. GL is thousand times better than that.

I thought X-men First Class had some problems of that sort. The most glaring one being the scene where Darwin dies. Such a strange spot they chose to cut away.

Spider-Man had three dimensional characters. Peter was. Harry was. Norman was. MJ was.

Apparently, GL doesn't have one single well developed and three dimensional character.

And that was what ruined First Class for me. The only Black guy died in a movie that talks about prejudice. That was terrible.

You know why they did that? To leave his death ambiguous on purpose. He evolves to survive. ;)

:whatever: I was referring to the scene where Hal suddenly takes of, from my explanation its quiet clear I grasped what occurred or I wouldn’t have been able to explain it to another member wondering what occurred.

Am I the only one who liked Hector Hammond? He was so ridiculous and comic book cheesy that I really enjoyed every scene he was in.

Hector was, Hal Jordan was and Carol Ferris was.

Yeah, X-Men had some terrible editing problems.

Various posters on the Superman board can attest to me hating SR with a passion but even I know an exaggeration when I see one. And GL isnt far of from what SR is hell if there was a league SR and GL would be in the same league (no pun intended).

Clearly not, not even close.

Given how "rotten" GL is currently. It looks like the reviews were spot-on and justified.

SR was and is received MUCH better than this by a huge margin.

If this is your type of entertainment, so be it... but its out of alignment with the vast majority of fans and critics thus far by leaps and bounds.

No, the ring beeped and he showed up at the hangar. It was pretty clear. You clearly said that it was unclear what happened. You even criticized that it wasnt explained why the ring beeps.:o

That ruined First Class for you?

Okay I'm starting to see why you loved Green Lantern.

Hector was, Hal Jordan was and Carol Ferris was.

Angst and daddy issues doesn't = three dimensional character.

And how is Carol three dimensional? Apparently all she does is look hot and give Hal either scaldings or pep talks.

It is worse to me because it had a capable director, the best hero of all time, good actors but the writing was terrible and the villain was the worst villain ever. It was just a bad film.

I will agree that SR is a terrible Superman movie, but c'mon are you forgetting Catwoman?

The One-N'-Doners?

No scene in GL made me hate the movie like what it happened in FC. That was terrible and unnecessary and basically just a reflection of how racist America is. And I'm not even black...

I mean, did it really had to be the ONLY black guy in the movie??!?

And that was what ruined First Class for me. The only Black guy died in a movie that talks about prejudice. That was terrible.

It didn't ruin it for me but I thought the idea of bringing in a character like that for only 5 minutes and then killing him off in some bull**** attempt to get us to feel sorry or any emotion really was ******ed with a capital R.

As I currently explained I was referring to the scene where Hal took of, the explanation was given a long time prior to the referred scene. Obviously it wasn’t clear enough or more people would have grasped what occurred, and I would like to correct myself it wasn’t even a beep it was the ring flashing.
