hahahaha You think Darwin dying was racist? hahahaha

He died being a HERO. Making the ultimate sacrifice trying to save his friend. If the movie was racist he would have died in a horribly humilating way.

Besides, he's not dead anyway.

Am I the only one who liked Hector Hammond? He was so ridiculous and comic book cheesy that I really enjoyed every scene he was in.

I admired Sarsgaard for giving it his all. The dude deserved better. But that's about the best I can give ya.

I hated Superman Returns but it's better than the following Superhero movies to me:

GhostRider
Blade 3
Wolverine
Catwoman
Batman & Robin
Batman Returns (it's more watchable than SR)
All of the Punisher movies
Steel
Spider-Man 3

I might be forgetting something but thats it for now

SR is the worst comic book ever made, on the level of Batman & Robin. GL is thousand times better than that.

That's not what the ratings on RT and imdb say <_<

Superman Returns is average to the general public.... in my opinion, it's underrated and deserves more love then it gets. But that's just me.

Hector Hammond is a bad villain to begin with. Just the fact I didnt hate it deserves my admiration.

SR is unremarkable and easily forgettable. From the sounds of it, GL is too. So both sides should kiss and make up, since they're even. :O

Thats a good point. HH is a lame villain. There really wasn't a need for the character to even be in the movie. They should have stuck closer to the Secret Origins comic and had some sort of alien villain on the loose.

Indeed.

The thing about Superman Returns is it was received well critically, but even more importantly it got overwhelmingly positive reactions on here, SHH, in the threads when it first came out.

That reaction faded over time though.

GL is being panned across the board (no pun intended) right now, and most definitely critically too. Just imagine how much worse it's going to get over some time. A completely blown and wasted opportunity and I think the ramifications of GL failing could be incredibly bad for DC.

Hector Hammond sucked, I am sure we were meant to feel sorry for him prior to his megamind transformation but there just wasn’t a connection there with the audience. He was creepy prior to his transformation and even more creepy after.

I think that was the point. He was supposed to be a creep and weird.

ERIC IS IN THIS MOVIE!?

:oldrazz:

It's Peter Sarsgaard, not Skarsgaard. :oldrazz: Though I can understand the confusion.

Hector Hammond sucked pretty much sums up my opinion of the character. GL should have been going up against a humanoid alien character not a cloud and not Peter Sarsgard with a big head and a Porn Stache.

Damn these similar sounding nordic names. Then you throw Stellan Skarsgaard into the mix as well and I'm royally screwed.

It was blatant they attempted the sympathetic villain angle, otherwise his father would have essentially been redundant Tim Robbins deserves better than this sack of ****.

Didn't you just say he was a three dimensional character?

Now you're saying he was just supposed to be creep and weird?

No offense man, but it's pretty clear you built up the hype of this thing so much, you convinces yourself you would like it before you even saw it.

6 months down the line I guarantee you won't feel the same way.

How do I know this? Because it's happened with me before. With Wolverine Origins. When i first saw it i loved it. Then that quickly faded into meh. Then that quickly devolved into out right detesting it.

No, then you throw in Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sargaards wife in the mix, who like her brother Jake obviously is also of swedish descent. :p

Your anger is amusing. Robbins was totally wasted. I would have felt more sorry for Hammond if he didn't look like a child rapist.
