I still really can't see using Mirror Master as the main villain. He's just too silver age, I don't think audiences will buy him as a tech villain. Not unless you cut him down to just lasers and holograms, at which point I don't see him being quite as credible an opponent for Flash, versus guys like Captain Cold and Weather Wizard.

I remember liking the idea of a trilogy with reverse flash as the final villain and the one that had given the Rogues their futuristic weapons, i don't like the idea of making Central City a town like Eureka of super geniuses though

What do you people make of Autumn Reeser as an actress? I have only watched her in No Ordinary Family where I thought she was pretty good and can do the damsel in distress role pretty well. I am looking to cast an 'Iris Allen' opposite my choice for Flash (Jake Gyllenhaal) and I think they LOOK a good pair.

Chastain would be more suited to Circe in a Wonder Woman movie IMHO. No offence to Flash fans but personally, I think Iris West is a far easier role to play on screen than Circe for which a more accomplished actor is required.
I also initially had Chastain as Iris but am on a lookout for a new actress for the role especially one that can pair up with Jake Gyllenhaal, my first choice for Flash.

So my candidates till now are...

Rachel McAdams- She is a big name. But is she TOO big a name?

Anna Kendrick- Yes she was in Twilight but apart from that, her Filmography is pretty solid. She is the kind of budding actress who people probably know by face but not her name.

Autumn Reeser- Largely an unknown, she does have the sweetness and charm I am looking for while casting Iris.

Well there's no doubt they'll go with Barry Allen. He's the one that has an actual secret identity for starters. And a job, and supporting cast that isn't rooted in super hero lore. And DC has it out for Wally, he hasn't starred in a book in years. I don't see how anyone would think the character in a Flash movie would be anyone but Barry Allen.

It will be interesting to see how both X-MEN: DOFP and Avengers 2 handle their respective Quicksilvers. How many variations on "Super-Speed" in an action scene will filmmakers be able to come up with? It's gotta be a little troubling for WB that both their rivals are getting a speedster up on the screen before them.

And really, will any "super-speed" moment match the scene from The Incredibles where Dash realizes he can run on water?

Say what you want about Gosling, but I'm pretty sure he will portray a superhero like it's serious stuff (like Cavill and Bale does, and to some extent Garfield).
The Flash has potential to deliever the same kind of heavy action as Snyder's Superman.
The tone of the film depends on the director, though. But I want someone with an own vision of what a "serious Flash" is, and not just a clone of MOS/TDK.

I don't think it's quite that easy. For one thing, they have to want to make this film.

They can give Mirror Master teleporting powers in addition to those other powers, I am not sure its that goofy considering we seen that in superhero movies before.

Really Mirror Master all comes down to execution, the film makers can incorporate as many of his powers they want to.

I think because Sam Scudder died in the Pre crisis universe, if they have the Rogues as a group appear in the film, they can have Scudder be the slimy, psychopathic one, in order to contrast him against more likely villains like Captain Cold and have a villain who can die during the climax of the film.

Brit Marling has mostly done independent films, all of them great, she would suit the role of Iris quite well and I think whoever plays Barry needs to have great chemistry with whoever plays Iris.

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything.

Quicksilver is going to be a bit part in two ensemble films. It's not the same thing as a big budget solo film revolving around a single character.
