I think people are looking WAY too hard into this symbol......

that being said..... I wonder what was hunting Simmons

and interesting reveal.... unless they're giving Andreas Von Strucker the code name "phobos" or making him have a fake name on campus as Alex ... that casting info was just a big ruse...

Oh, I can't unsee now.

Does casting really have to tell the absolute truth?

Kind of a shame. Checking out old panels of Phobos, the Strucker kid looks just like an older version.

Don't get boggled down by names too much on this show, they like to rename characters to fit their story. Case in point: Calvin Zabo, who we were told was born Calvin Johnson for the sake of justifying Daisy using that last name after her mother didn't end up being Kim Johnson. Yeah, it's true that Werner Von Strucker's playing for Hydra's side currently, but who knows what the future holds? He might end up forsaking his legacy completely and renaming himself as Alexander Aaron as a testament to that for all we know.

Ward swaggered back onto the scene gloriously in last nights ep. :D Who would have guessed when the show started that he'd end being such a great villain. The twist with [BLACKOUT]Von Strucker's son[/BLACKOUT] was also great.

I thought the teams relic hunter adventure to save Jemma was great, and I'm looking forward to seeing how she is in the aftermath and finding out more about where she was from her side of things, hopefully complete with flashbacks.

May's sabbatical and conflict is a nice change of pace for her and teaming with Hunter to chase down Ward and his new HYDRA should provide a fresh balance with the Inhuman aspect of the show, although ultimately I think it needs to be Bobbi vs Ward part II when he is taken down.

Was it ever confirmed the monolith was something from the comics? I forgot if we had established that or not

some annoying people on facebook are swearing that Gemma and Tripp will be the MCU version of Cloak and Dagger.... completely ignoring the fact Tripp clearly died... and Gemma has feelings for Fitz, neither are teens nor runaways... and Gemma doesn't have light energy abilities.

People are just panicking because they feel the Monolith plot had little payoff aside from reuniting FitzSimmons, so they rather grasp at straws than consider the actual story arc possibilities and where it can go from here.

What do we know about the Monolith?

-It's a Kree weapon used against Inhumans

-A Portal to a desolate planet

-Liquefies only around Aliens and Inhumans, namely Randolph and Daisy (based on my viewing of last nights ep)

What was chasing Jemma? what is she afraid of? Is she a dormant Inhuman?

These are the questions people should be asking. I think this is only the beginning.

I was not looking forward to the 'Ward rebuilds Hydra' angle at all. It just didn't feel like something Ward would do. But doing it via a proxy while keeping himself out of the direct spotlight is exactly the sort of way NuWard would handle it. I am finally onboard with this direction.

They're making such a deal out of her recovery time it's bound to happen. I'm afraid it will cost us Hunter tho :(

Right on. It's weird that people were expecting full resolution. We still have virtually everything to learn about what happened to Simmons over those long months. It could be almost anything, which I find exciting. I'm very much looking forward to it.

there's no proof from that episode (unless i severely missed something) that the rock only liquifies for inhumans or aliens... the opening scene had the guy be picked randomly it seemed to go into the room with it.... it seems to only liquify when it wants to...

That's just my assumption based on what I saw from the episode. We'll see how it plays out.

I just find it odd that it only started reacting casually once Randolph and Daisy came around. Before that it wouldn't budge.

Also for all we know the guy from the past was a dormant Inhuman.

.... well daisy was blasting it with vibration frequencies that do trigger it...

and it turned to liquid form a few times in the finally episode

You mean the same finale when all those Inhumans were running around on the Iliad?

Either way, if they're not post Terrigen Inhumans , there's no way to tell unless they display an ability or have some type of unique physical appearance. I never said it was for sure, but it sure makes Jemma's situation that much more interesting.

I'm considering all variables how it concerns the plot, I doubt this is just about Jemma being lost on a foreign Planet and having PTSD now because of it. There has to be more to her story , she was there for what? a few months?

Thats not true .It was changing in SOS before any Inhuman was near it .There is no evidence that any of the faux Hellfire Club were aliens and they even managed to McGuyver it to open when they wanted

Randolph reckoned it was reacting to tidal or atmospheric things at the other end of the portal

I finally had time to watch it, but - and I hate to say it - this certainly was the most disappointing episode of the show since 084.

I'm half way through, I liked what I saw up to 19:15 of the show

I loved this episode! I'm intrigued to know what our Asgardian friend knows about Inhumans though.

No! I'm counting on him to be the substitute Pete Wisdom snarky ******* who runs STRYKE with woobie superpeople and alien Beatle cosplayers!

WOW I loved the episode too. RH what didn't you like about it?

idk, honestly. it had a lot of potential. there was stuff I was looking forward too, but in the end it feels like a lot of that potential was wasted. this episode wasn't awful but could have been so much more.
also, the Ward plot bored the hell out of me and I usually love the Hydra scenes.

I got the Feeling Werner is going to do something to change that lol
