Justice League Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman - Part 6

You know what I was just thinking? As anxious as we all are for movement on the Reeves film, what if the new Batman actor isn't at all to our liking? Once the announcement comes, it's pretty much final. Ponder on that for a minute. lol
Well at the rate he's going, we'll probably have ample time to get used to the pick, go through all the stages of denial and grief, and make peace with it before the cameras even start rolling, lol.

Not much, I don’t think. People hating a casting choice when it’s first announced is nothing new now; just ask Ben Affleck.

While there are examples where the initial criticism turns out to not really improve this once the film is released (Jesse’s Lex), it usually subsides once the movie is able to speak for itself.

Hell, there will probably be at least some initial backlash online by virtue of the new actor not being Ben. They’ll get over it. Probably.

Eh.. I meant more in the personal sense (e.g., as much as I very much want to enjoy the MCU's take on Spidey, Tom Holland just kills it for me). Also, I was sort of speaking to the occasional manner in which fans have been known to want something so bad only to have it disappoint them the second upon receiving it. Whatever the case, it'll definitely be interesting to see how folks react to the new Bruce Wayne unless, by some miracle, Ben reprises the role.

I don't think any one particular candidate has dominated the talks recently, so whomever gets cast will likely get a "I'm open to it" from the hardcore base, given their filmography supports that benefit of the doubt.

Who knows when that casting will come about, maybe in the next few weeks the fans slowly come to a name we can all agree on. It'll be hard to top the groundswell that Bale got, or to a lesser extent, Cavill.

You not keen on Holland? Interesting, i could never believe in Toby Maguire's PP, he was just too slow and not at all heroic/athletic. Garfield looked too old and had that hipster, quirky vibe... Holland i like.

Same with Kilmer or Clooney, just couldn't get invested. Batfleck i bought into when i saw the metropolis ground zero set pics, looked awesome. In JL i felt his body shape was all over the place and i actually wished he wore some kind of subtle body suit under his trousers, they at times looked too skinny (like when walking with Diana by the lake).

To be honest, for Reeves movie i am expecting it to be something different and not ben, not sure how i will feel as i want more Batfleck.

See, that's the thing. As much as I appreciate both Holland and Garfield's efforts to capture the essence of the character (his quirky, wise-cracking demeanor, for example), something about their respective performances comes off a little too forced for my taste. Maguire didn't even try to go for that, but he was at least likeable. I'm accustomed to the adult Peter Parker who grew up, got married, etc., so Garfield's age never bothered me. Ryan Reynolds would've been a much better fit in my opinion, though.

Ben, I thought, did a great job with Batman for the most part; he also bears the closest resemblance to how I've always envisioned him. It's just a shame that his full potential in the role will forever remain untapped, something a solo outing would've likely allowed for.

Even with Ben being my favorite Batman, I've long since made peace with his departure from the DCEU. That said, I'm not especially keen on any of his would-be replacements mentioned thus far. The only ones I can live with are, as follows: Jon Hamm, Aidan Turner or Wes Bentley.

there must be someone out there that can use the footage from BvS and make a short film or a trailer for non film and just leave us with what could have been.

I still say a Batman movie with Batfleck and it follow a story line similar to 'leon' where he reluctantly trains up a new 'Robin' then goes in to rescue her from a botched mission, could be awesome. If you haven't seen leon, i reccomend it.
If someone has good editing skills, just add Ben's appearance in Suicide Squad (including that talk with Waller), most of his scenes in BvS and few of his scenes in JL and make a movie out of it.

I think if we are considering Jon Hamm we can also look at Richard Armitage. Both Jon Hamm and Richard Armitage are now 47 years old, if age was the issue why Ben Affleck is stepping down, then it makes no sense to get Jon Hamm or Richard Armitage who are one year Older than him. Especially when Affleck is in better physical shape than either of them.

--EDIT-- Couldn't embed due to language, but there's a short clip out there showing Batman taking out a GCPD camera with a batarang.

Short clip from where??

Sorry, I should have clarified! I'll message you the link, but it looks like it's from JL and you can find it on twitter.

Search twitter user "moaning waynes" lol.

A new thing from JL, lets go through the obligatory stages:
1. Wow that's cool
2. Snyder the best, Snyder cut now
3. Snyder is the worst
4. It's time to move on from JL everybody
5. Huge debate about MOS/BVS

There was talk of Ben vacating the role long before we heard anything about Reeves' back-to-basics approach. So, who knows what ultimately led to his departure? To your point, though, a younger Batman is all but a certainty now, I get that. Hamm is just one of my dream cast choices, and as old as he is now, I'd prefer that the part go to him over someone like Hammer or Isaac.

Josh Brolin would be a great actor to carry on from Batfkeck, Sam Worthington lookwise would do well.. has an affleck vibe

Isn't Hamm even older than Ben? Wouldn't make much sense if they want to go younger Bats.

Again, Hamm's just a personal preference irrespective of what we've heard so far. I don't actually expect to see him cast in the role.

Get the kid from Stranger Things as Batman. :o

Whatever happened to Sam Worthington? I genuinely forgot about him. lol

He's tied up with 100 Avatar films
I honestly don't see why they are continuing, it was amazing (to some) for it's time, but that was then - i don't think he is a bad actor at all, not great, but as Bruce, just fine.

I wonder what Ben has on his slate for the next year.
