Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

I am starting to wonder if Pattinson is going to be on the eccentric and kooky side out in public.as Bruce I don't like that my mind is going there because of the way Robert acts in interviews. I know it doesn't say anything about his characterization in the movie. I hate that aspect of Burton's films so much. But then, what was Burton going to do once he cast someone like Keaton?

I guess I just enjoy the traditional Playboy thing more as the diversion from the meaty material. Much more than Keaton's awkward, "Aw shucks, I'm just such a regular guy who is kinda odd and doesn't realize how rich he is." thing. Har har har. We're sitting on opposite sides of this long dining room table of a room I've never been in. I'm so not the stuffy type, Vicki. Aren't you going to fall for me like this is an Adam Sandler or Seth Rogen movie?

Except for Maps to the Stars (in which he literally plays an actor) he pretty much never plays his characters with the same mannerisms or energy he exhibits in interviews. Whatever he does with Bruce Wayne and Batman will be a far cry of how he acts in real life.

I actually want him to be a more flamboyant Bruce in the public eye. Not unlike his real self during interviews. The greatest **** ever would be Bruce walking back into Wayne Manor and you see a complete physical transformation. The way he walks, posture, the shoulders widen, the smile turns into a dead serious glare. Maybe even the pitch in his voice changes.

Bale played 3 different personas. Very well I might add. But check it: public Bruce was a drunken, dumb witted buffoon who loves to party (a more flamboyant version of this would be ideal for Rob). Bale’s second persona was a more regular, humble man’s man in private. That’s how he handled **** with Alfred and Lucius. He seemed to have his head on pretty straight. Batman was his animalistic creature. A third transformation...

How I would write it for Rob? When Bruce is in his bat cave or walking the grounds of Wayne Manor, he’s calm, brooding, always in thought. Highly intelligent. He has good intentions but there’s always something off about him. Borderline psychotic as if he’s going to explode any second. He NEVER does, but you see it in his eyes. When he puts on the cape and cowl, it’s not some third character he’s playing. It is just a spooky extension of the private Bruce Wayne that we have seen at home. Smart, calm, cool & collected. Quiet but with a sense of menace. You don’t know how he’s going to move or respond.

Affleck played all three personas the same. Bale played all three differently. I want Rob to have two personas...

1) The billionaire playboy (the fake Bruce)
2) The billionaire behind closed doors is the same as the man in the suit. If there is any variation, I want him to just strip whatever emotional warmth he has in private and just channel his inner Michael Myers lol. Patient stalker who can strike at any moment but who plays mind games with his enemies. Sometimes he’ll sit there staring at you from on top of a building for an hour before letting you walk away (next thing you know you’re taken out in a matter of seconds).

I can see this Batman not being in any hurry. He doesn’t have a finite plan like Bale. This one’s a lifer and he’s just getting started. But when push comes to shove, he’s the fastest parkour ninja sumb**ch anyone has ever seen. The job gets done no matter what. But the pace differs depending on each case. Methodical preparation is key.

If all this happens, you all owe me a lap dance. Keep your pants on though.

So if Keaton is going to be in the DCEU, that means if we get a Batman Beyond movie, it won’t be set in the future? It’ll be in the current DCEU timeline? That’s incredible lame. The futuristic aesthetic of BB is literally the whole point.

We have no idea. There's been more hint-hinting about Batgirl than Beyond.

With a studio who has a had 3 batmen in 4 years, 4 Flash directors (with numerous failed attempts at other directors), 64 DCEU spinoffs in development hell, a Green Lantern movie that's bounced between film and HBO, and once had 2 different directors on the same movie, it's probably just a good idea to not guess what they're going to do next lol.

It will be set in 2022 but it’s the Burton verse Gotham City most likely. So if you can imagine 1992 GC (Batman Returns), how that looked? 30 years later, I’m positive it will look futuristic AF. Probably pretty close to Batman Beyond. It was already a whacky out of this world city.

Also we don’t know what Burton’s Gotham night have evolved into over the last almost 30 years.

That's what I'm saying.

The Burton-verse may very well already be in a Beyond-like timeline. Then whatever is done narratively to keep Keaton in the main timeline, he brings the tech with him. Of course that would mean a futuristic Batman operating in a contemporary world, but it's a fair compromise in lieu of a proper Beyond film.

Of course, Jett has been leaning pretty heavily into Keaton setting up Batgirl, not Terry, so the whole point may be moot.

We literally don’t even know if Keaton will actually be back.
I believe Jett when he says Warner Brothers actually worked on the article with Deadline. So it’s a done deal.

Most likely 30 years after Batman Returns. Some version of Batgirl exists and Bruce mentors her. Different timeline now so the new DCEU Metropolis would be different. Harley Quinn is now operating in Burton’s Gotham so her history with Leto is wiped out for good and so are the Birds of Prey. Who is she? Is she related to Nicholson’s Joker instead? (Which is closer to what Schumacher was about to do in the 90’s).

Would Burtons world replace Dceu Gotham for the last thirty years? Or would everything Burton did coexist with the current DCEU?

Michael Uslan was also dropping hints on his FB page prior to the announcement. If anyone is going to have behind the scenes cred it should be him. I think it's likely a done deal, or at least in the final stages of negotiation.

Yup. WB literally said themselves that Pattinson is the future of the franchise, and its time the haters get used to that.
Scoopers from 'The Wrap' said that. Not WB. None of the other more reputable trades corroborated it. They just said Keaton won't interfere with Reeves' plans
