Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

Not in the films or shows.
I'm talking about what I know. The name being said doesn't change that. I think I didn't even realize it hadn't already been a thing, in this canon, until the show brought up.

I'd rather not see it.
I understand but...
I'm happy I don't know much about NWH and it's just a few days ahead.
His spoiler isn't even for that film. It's for another film that comes much later that we know even less about, meaning the rumours and innuendo are even less reliable. Who knows maybe he got this "spoiler" from the likes of Youtubers Everything Always or Cosmic Wonder (ie. BS-Machine-For-Clicks) that a few of us here made fun of.

Incorrect. The spoiler was first reported by one of the more reliable scoopers (ViewerAnon), which I then corroborated with my own connection within the industry, who said the same thing.

I can confirm to you, that the spoiler in question is 100% real. it's up to you whether you want to take my word it for not, but at least come cottect with all the facts straight instead of an assumption based on nothing

It couldn't have. The episode breaks are important for the transition of the decade of sitcoms.
If Infinity War managed to showcase all Infinity Stones hunting in more or less 2 hours. I don't see why sitcom eras couldn't be trimmed down. Endgame managed to showcase all those time travel back and forth in more or less 2 hours as well.

*Shrugs*

As the guy who hates Infinity War, probably a bad example to use with me.

The point is the show's sitcom homage isn't that important for it take 2/3 of a 9 episode mini series. It could easily be trimmed down in a 2 hour movie.

There’s some ideas for what to call the x-men if they don’t want to call them the x-men. I like knights of x (or KoX for short)

Mutants of X.

Or just call it Marvel Studios' X.

Then the sequels X2, X3, X4 and so on.

Knights or Legion of X is WAY too Star Wars/LotR for the X franchise. As a spin-off, fine, but not the main team.

Also not a great idea to appropriate established spin-off names for the main team. If all the X-men are 'New Mutants' or 'X-Force', then what are the New Mutants or X-Force?

And, uh... 'Wolverine' is an idea for an alternate title for the X-Men?

If they’re going to call it Wolverine hopefully they can at least add “and Friends”. :o:funny:

If they diXlike the word X-Men so much, just call it Marvel Studios' Mutants, similar to Marvel Studios' Eternals and Marvel's Inhumans.

Suffice to say, Marvel Studios hired a diverse group of creatives (mostly from minority backgrounds) to helm the '97 revival, so, naturally, they have strong opinions about social justice issues that... Directly affect them.

But predictably, this didn't go over well with a certain demo of people, who are now accusing Disney of going "w0ke" with the X-Men

the only project of Marvel Studios who doesnt set in MCU
They can make a X-men TAS sequel based on Utopia era, or Marvel Now or Blue/Gold/Red era.
Wolverine and X-men 2008 serie was already inspired from Astonishing era

I hope X-men will be already active since years in MCU

I would be very happy with Blue, Gold and Red! Let's hope that first MCU X-Men blows the doors off so all these things become possible.

To be honest, I go back and forth with getting Hugh Jackman back in the fold.

A reality-displaced older version of the character sounds bonkers but works for Wolverine surprisingly enough. It just adds his ongoing ronin saga. And Jackman doesn’t look his age certainly, and can still play the character IMO.

So in the MCU, Wolverine can be Hugh Jackman (Old Man Logan, in a sense) who fights the Hulk and fights alongside Fury & Avengers, etc. And still have room to introduce Laura as X-23, a Wolverine successor.

Do we really need a brand new Wolverine to retread Weapon X, coming the mansion, love triangle with Jean & Scott, etc.? I think many of us are just excited to see Wolverine interact with a wider Marvel universe, so why not Jackman?

Jackman easily has another few movie appearances and/or Disney+ series in him; I think he could be reinvigorated into returning to the character if presented the right story & confidence in filmmakers. And as we know, Feige’s a friend, etc.

But, like I said, a new actor would be fine too.

And definitely Marvel Studios’ X-Men, and opportunity for subtitles later.

Because he played the character for nearly 20 years
Because we are ready to move on from that era, as much as we appreciate what that cast did
Because out of everybody from that era, he's the one who got the most to shine (and some of us are a bit tired of it too)
Because Logan was a perfect send off
Because Jackman will be almost 60 when the character is introduced
Because we simply want a fresh start and something new
Because some of us want to see different stories told with the character and not see him limited to the old man version because some insist in having Jackman back
Because we can let go, and so can Jackman, which is why he retired from the character

I mean the least goes on...

Fair enough, but I’d argue Jackman has another 10 years in him. And it’d really only be Old Man Logan if the story warranted it / the creatives decided to go in that direction. Jackman’s no ordinary 53-year old.

We give the MCU space to develop the X-Men characters that weren’t given the spotlight in the Fox movies (Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, etc.) and capitalize on the still-popular casting of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in other projects. Plus there’d still be a MCU-version of Logan out there somewhere (we’ll see how/if this is addressed in No Way Home—will we ever see an MCU Octavius, or does the Molina version replace our universe’s, etc.)

But you’re not wrong—it’s absolutely a nostalgia-driven idea. Jackman left an impression, even in the crappy movies.

You use the word "We" very liberally. You may be tired of Jackman's Wolverine but most people aren't and would be THRILLED to see him play MCU Wolverine. And no, Jackman's Wolvie isn't limited to the old man version. Jackman looks mid-40s at the most. Jackman is 53 and looks a decade younger than RDJ did in Endgame. So his age is the last thing people will think about when they talk about him returning to the role. His look in Logan was a result of great makeup.

Mahershala Ali is 47 and will be 48 when Blade goes into production. Kevin Feige seems fine with that. If Jackman is game to come out of retirement nobody will be upset. People will cheer. Most people will. And look at No Way Home. It's huge because of the Raimi cast.

People like what they like. Maguire's Spider-Man. Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man. Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

I do think that the nostalgia iron is hot, so Marvel should strike if Jackman is game.

I know that was Logan was his last hurrah but that was with a studio & history of filmmakers that was very tumultuous, and unfortunately more bad than good (IMO). Continuing in the MCU may offer Jackman more heights to reach as the character that he would have not been able to with Fox & their often misguided direction.
