The Book of Boba Fett The Book of Boba Fett General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

I certainly liked
The episode closing with Grogu's choice. I suppose for continuity with the sequel trilogy it would seem like he returns to Mando....but then he'd still be a little baby at the time of the sequels anyway, given how slowly he ages. Still, if someone at Disney had thought....hey let's make a Jedi Academy series, with Luke and Ahsoka as recurring supporting characters, that might have been a great pilot...ah well.

Given Luke's reverence for what he believes the Jedi to be vs what they maybe were in Anakin's time, and also where he ends up by TLJ, choosing armor would certainly play into his growing frustration about the school and concepts of the Jedi.

Not that I enjoyed his final form. Would've much preferred him to be less jaded but . . .

Yeah, I absolutely did not enjoy the take of Luke Skywalker in the sequel trilogy. If Favreau and Filoni can make me accept the Sequel trilogy version of the character, they have done something God-tier for sure lol, at least for me. I wouldn't be mad if the sequel trilogy just ends up being a dream Luke had or some dumb bs excuse to ignore it lol. Ah well, I'm loving Star Wars right now, so that's all that matters to me.

I have one fear for next week

They kill Cad Bane.

Yes Boba needs to finish what he started back in The Clone Wars and finally put Bane in the ground.

BUT I think its too much for one episode to A) Explain who Bane is B) explain his history with Fett ie the CW Duel and C) Have Boba beat him again.

I wanna see them battle it out for a bit before the big final showdown. IF they had introduced Bane earlier in the series OR if there was say one or two more episodes left I would be fine with putting him down for good.

But right now it feels too soon.

Doesnt Bane have a lot of backstory connected to Obi-Wan, wont they want to use him there as well?

They had a fair number of interactions and fights, but I don't remember there being anything particularly personal. Cad did have a skill for hunting Jedi though, so it would make sense for the Empire to hire him to go after surviving Jedi.

Agreed. They really screwed the storyline up with designating two episodes of their already too-short season to Mando Season 2.5

Seriously, the pace and the way the story is laid out in this show is garbage. The first 6 episodes are like a prologue.

They had to show how Grogu goes from Luke's academy back to Mando. After the season 2 finale of Mando it would have been weird if Grogu just randomly showed up on Tatooine.

What they should have done was had Grogu stay with Luke through season 3 of Mando and return to Mando at the end, and after season 3 have the BoBF show open with Boba's rule established. The Syndicate invasion of Tatooine and Boba's businesses being attacked could have happened at the end of episode 1. BoBF never should have preceeded Mando season 3.

Even if they did use Bane in the Obi-Wan series, that would take place canonically before Book of Boba Fett anyway so him dying in the next episode wouldn't have an effect on that.

I think Favreau and Rodriguez learned a lot from the Russos.

Any narrative problem can be ignored with enough fanservice.

Seriously, I just realized that this series is essentially Infinity War/Endgame.

And now this is what Boba Fett is reduced to. Well,Jon has firmly cemented his original character Din Djarin as the favorite. He slowly but surely forced out Boba and turned him into this, lol. In case you can't tell this is in a jovial jocking tone.

Worst Outcome for tonight:

-35 min episode
-No Rancor riding
-Cad Bane dies
-Boba dies
-No CW Flashback of Daniel Logan Boba vs Bane

Best Outcome:
-70 - 90 min episode
-Rancor riding
-A Wild Bossk appears
-Flashback to Daniel Logan Boba vs Cad Bane
-Flashback to Tem Jango
-Bane lives...again to gunsling another day
-Qi'ra or Xizor set up for S2
-Bo-Katan roasting
-Grogu takes the lightsaber and the beskar
-A Wild Omega appears

Really no idea what to expect from this final episode, the way its gone off on a wild tangent these last two seems like anything is possible, good and bad. The last few have been good though so fingers crossed, I guess we "might" get a bit more Boba this episode, perhaps?? Does it have some further surprises left up its sleeve. Cant wait to find out at least, its been a bit of a rollercoaster.

I am just curious what the new reveal will be at the end. Will we have a Sith Apprentice show up? We have Jedi again, will we have some new Sith show up? Maybe a Palpatine clone? If no sith shows maybe Thrawn has an appearance. It could just be crimson dawn. We already have Luke's return, Grogu training, Mando has a new mission, Ahsoka mentioned Thrawn, Boba found a new life, what is next? We need some threat to tie them all together. There must be a reason Din has the darksaber, there has to be some lightsaber fight he needs it for. I am hoping for some sith to appear. Although I don't think this show is the place for a sith to show up. I am also still waiting for Hondo to make an appearance somewhere in one of these shows.

What time does the episode drop tonight for all the U.S. time zones?

Expect no big reveals and a pretty straightforward final episode and you won't be disappointed. :D

It does feel like Boba has all the aces at the moment, apart from Bane the Pykes look like they will be rather easy fodder should any Jedi show up.

What are the chances they pull a Mando S2, and the season finale has a stinger that opens with “Several Years Earlier..” and we get a teaser for Kenobi?

If there's a stinger I'd expect it to be for Mando S3 or Ahsoka to tie in to the era better.

I think I remember you don’t like Infinity War so that’s a bad sign for Boba lol.

If the Book of Boba Fett teaser from the end of Mando S2 was any indicator, they might take the approach of teasing the next series in the pipeline, which in this case would be Kenobi. As @Iceman said, this season of BOBF has already basically been a prelude to Mando S3 and Ahsoka hasn't even started filming yet. Not that it makes much difference since they still could have shot something with Dawson during BOBF, but still...
