The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 7: In The Name of Honor (Spoiler Discussion)

I'm glad Cobb was just mostly dead and therefore able to be healed. :o

So for everyone that are familiar with bacta tanks, is there a story reason why Vader never used it to heal his injuries?

My favourite thing about Din and the Darksaber is how much he hates it. Everyone else is impressed/intimidated by it, but every time he pulls it out you can almost hear him muttering "look at this stupid ****ing thing. Why is it heavy?!"

I don't think a bacta tank can heal his extra crispy lungs. But he has a tank in his castle, so he's still giving it the old college try.

Sabine should just take it back. Woman has saber skills for days! :atp:

He regularly used a bacta tank. Thats why he goes from this:

Some of Vader's healing problems was probably caused by the dark side and Sidious. Sidious deliberately made Vader's armor painful and used substandard life support systems to increase Vader's dependence and to push him further to the dark side. And the dark side feeds on life force and can cause decay. A jedi would have probably healed much better than Vader.

Robert Rodriguez is honestly the worst director on this show for me. Which I'm still in disbelief over, but it's the truth. Twice this season an episode's bad directing moments took me out of it, and both times, it was his episodes.

Outside of some awkward shots and editing, I really enjoyed it. I knew he'd be choosing the way of the Mandalore, but the Grogu/Mando stuff still just....:atp:

I'll be honest, Boba's characterization is still a bit muddy to me, though. He spent most of the episode just agreeing to do whatever his scene partner was suggesting at the time, it was weird. That's just an odd way to write the lead of a show, imo. It seemed like just about the only truly proactive thing he did here was go get that rancor. MVP Fennec Shand.

I didn't want to lose Cad Bane so quickly, but...this was always the end he had to meet, so I accept it.

Weren't there supposed to be ties to the recent SW movies in this ep??

I had no doubt, but glad to get confirmation that Cobb Vanth's still with us. Can't wait to see what Vanth 2.0 looks like.

Well said!

The whole series has been a big fat "MEH" for me apart from episodes that 5 and 6.

Bring on Mando season 3.

Don't like Luke letting Grogu fly on his own or r2d2 drive him with mando s1 and s2 whole premise was people wanting to get there hands on him or out right kill him.

Yes hes more in tune with the force but he's still a child

How did Fennec lift the mayor ? Lol cool scene though

The highlight is of course the Rancor he went savage and love it and Grogu petting him and then falling asleep :wowe:

I still don't think the directors do as much as we think. I think Jon and Dave do most of the pre planning and then the directors try to give them what they want. If Jon gives the ok, then it gets put in.
So we are just gonna buy that he learned how to ride the rancor, did I miss an episode? We saw Din train how to ride the blurrg. I hope we aren't starting to see the cracks in Jon's writing this early on. Perhaps he just doesn't know what to do with Boba and all his backstory, because he has his own character Din, which is really interesting and fun to write. Maybe this show was just something for the fans, which probably don't like it anyway. Well Boba is done so Jon can go back to what got him the job in the first place The Mandalorian.

Finale was fun on a superficial level, but had poor build up from the episodes prior in the series. Therefore I wasn't really invested in anything I was watching. So, this series was a dud for me overall.

Glad to see that all the supposed leaks and theories out there were wrong. Made the finale more surprising and enjoyable

This was the Robert Rodriguez I was waiting for. Just kick ass over the top action!

The Mando & Grogu reunion was super sweet :hrt:

So who the hell was that in the bacta tank?
Cobb Vanth.

I will say this about the show: the theme is awesome. Like it fools me into thinking I saw something more epic than I actually did lol!!!

But yeah, I am excited for Mando Season 3, but this show has me worried about D+ Star Wars. If Kenobi ends up closer to THIS show in quality, my overall Star Wars interest is gonna take a huge hit

'Twas a good finale. Not quite as epic as Mando S2's finale but still good.

Din and Grogu reuniting had me like:

The battle was awesome, definitely felt very video gamey but in a good way. The rancor was the highlight but where was Danny Trejo? Was he only there to drop the thing off and that's it?

Boba vs. Bane was a cool showdown, especially Boba using his Tusken moves. It's sad to see Bane go (if he really is dead) but there are plenty of opportunities for him to come back in shows or even movies that take place earlier in the timeline.

And to the surprise of nobody, Cobb Vanth is alive. I did perk up a bit in the final scene when Boba said his bacta tank was occupied and we saw that it wasn't B.K.

My only disappointment was no Kenobi trailer at the very end of the credits but I'm sure we'll get something soon enough.

My brother is so right. They decided they wanted Din and the kid in the finale, so they had two take a two episode detour to explain it, instead of them just showing up together. :funny:
At least now we get to jump right into things in Mando S3. I still think that Book of Boba should have been a four episode miniseries and episodes 5-7 should have been a Mando/Boba crossover event Disney+ special.

That bothered me too. It's like Luke was so sour over Grogu's choice that he didn't even want to take him himself. Either that or when he read Grogu's mind and saw Peli Motto's place he must have just really not wanted to go back to Tatooine. :o

Either way, I figured they weren't going to have Luke reunite with Boba after their last meeting.

Hmm, yeah, I'm not sure I like Luke letting Grogu fly with R2 back to Din. Maybe we will get more of that conversation with Luke and Grogu in S3.

I liked the duel with Boba and Cad. The Rancor scene was dope, and will make an excellent action figure/statue. Everything Mando and Grogu was dope. I think it should have been Boba taking out the leaders torwards the end, not Fennec. She already has done most of Boba's work in this series, especially it being the finale.

I feel it was a good finale, but maybe my expectations were too high. Also, I agree. The Robert Rodriguez directed episodes were surprisingly the worst. I thought he would have done much more with this series, especially since his directed episode in Mando was so good.

Maybe he just doesn't like sand. I mean it's coarse, it's rough, it's irritating, and it gets everywhere.

Bruh The Rancor did not disappoint at all in this finale is probably the MVP of the episode IMO. Seeing it wrecking those droids and almost destroying the town was very well done and I loved the bit with Grogu.

This episode felt very much like classic Rodriguez and in the vein of Desperado/El Mariachi which I really dug and appreciated, but Rodriguez was definitely the weakest director they got for this show.

It just wasn't as good as the previous episodes, but I really enjoyed it overall despite the problems it had most importantly the build-up and structure being very messy and contrived at times.

Also, as much as I love Ming-Na Wen as Fennec man did, she steal a lot of shine from Boba throughout this show and especially this episode. Seeing Mando and Boba team-up was dope and the duel with Cad Bane was pretty badass, but it should have been him going after and killing those final bosses at the end.

At least he got some great moments though which is better than nothing I guess, but all this show really did in the end was make me more excited for Mando Season 3.
