I aint gonna lie, I was prepping for disappointment cause it seemed like there was some apathy from early word, but this is why I always push for keeping an open mind until actually watching the movie. Because everyone is different and things will be to different people's tastes. This movie was very much for me.

I haven't seen many outright "this is horrible" takes but definitely a lot more "it's okay" or "it could have been better" ones.
I didn't say that there were "many" takes like that. I said there were "some." Which happens for literally anything. Movies, music, sports. etc.

I guess it’s an unpopular opinion but I thought Multiverse of Madness was MUCH better than No Way Home. I enjoyed NWH but the story was paper thin and the plot holes were too big to just overlook. Strange 2 had its issues but it definitely kept my interest a lot more.

I think it also comes with what we’re accustomed to seeing with Marvel movies because almost always the initial critic reactions are “BEST MARVEL MOVIE EVER!” and very hyperbolic. I think even Antman and the Wasp got glowing initial reactions. So seeing mixed initial responses was like “wuh oh.”

Strange is also extra dumb in NWH.

I mean, it is pretty brutal against the premiere audiences, which I imagine is less fans, more movie people.

Is it? She didnt say anything bad about them. She just said based on their reaction that she thinks the movies are gonna flop.

Maybe I have a different definition of harsh or brutal, but she didnt insult them, talk down them, etc.

I do think No Way Home used the characters in driving things more than the plot, which I think MOM was moreso plot driving and, I think, all over the place plot wise, jumping from thing to thing.

The writing in Multiverse Of Madness was attrocious. The plot was beyond stupid. Wanda's heel turn felt so contrived.

Theyre now saying DS2 likely to pass $400M globally this weekend. With no competition til Top Gun i think this would have to have BvS level toxic wom to not hit a billion before the end of the month. And this is way more crowd pleasing than BvS (and im a BvS fan hehe).

That Twitter user has really bad listening comprehension. All Olsen is saying is that she has a hard time watching at premieres because she's so anxious/nervous about it flopping, even guaranteed hits like the Avengers films. It's not until a movie opens in wide release that those feelings go away. I think you'd find many actors feel this way but never actually say it out loud.

It'll make a billion for sure. Honestly the only upcoming MCU movies with a date that I can't see making a billion is Quantumania

Who would’ve thought the Sorcerer Supreme and the Scarlet Witch would bring in more opening weekend dough than Batsy.

It really shows the financial benefit of a connected universe. After what I thought was a fair to middling debut, the Dr. was pumped up in appearances in a Thor sequel, two mega hit mash ups and a Spidey flick. Add the star of an event TV show to the mix and you've got huge results.

Which is why I can't see WB Discovery being happy keeping Reeves' Batman siloed when DC's most popular hero could be used to pump up other franchises. There's too much money being left on the table.

I saw MoM yesterday and had a lot of fun with it. It's not in the highest tier for me but the weirdness and Raimi influences are enough to make it stand out and while some things went pretty quickly it still grabs me since the characters are well established. I also liked America Chavez quite a bit and I'll be glad to see her again.

I may think Wanda being an outright villain can work, with what WandaVision did, I was initially interested in Multiverse Of Madness because I thought the movie's trailer was promising a villain Doctor Strange. And I was into the idea of Wanda as a villain as well, but as I was watching the movie I found myself missing what I felt I was promised from the trailer in a villain Strange. Wanda, in this movie, as a villain, I don't think really means much of anything for the overall story and character of Stephen Strange. Why Wanda of all people, as they're developing it in this movie? And evil Strange is just kinda thrown in somewhere in the middle? I thought it was fairly messy.

I think you might have to spoiler tag some of that @fan4stic. Could be wrong, though, I’ve never kept myself spoiler-free from this movie.
