Illumination's Super Mario movie

Anticipating the overplayed pop song that will be added to this trailer. :o

Ooh how exciting! Of course it could literally just be like, a quick shot of grass, a goomba and then hearing pratt saying “here we go” but it’s definitely something!

$5 days there’s a joke about Mario doing the Jurassic World hand move

you know a movie will suck, if a trailer needs to be announced weeks before it’s release

I haven’t seen this before. Trailers for Movies you know will be successful got an announcement 2-3 days before release. Some like DC or Jurassic World around 4-5 days. But 2 weeks before trailer release is something new

Technically it has you guys talking about it, so the announcement is doing its job :o

I mean there’s obviously lots of hype so I don’t necessarily think it means it’s going to be bad specifically for that reason. I think they know it’s going to be a content goldmine with lots of jokes, memes etc so they’re building an event around it

I mean Illumination is a pretty decent studio with a good track record. I’m not expecting high art but it should be enough to entertain the kids.
Nintendo was just trying to keep up their end of the Super Nintendo World deal with Universal. :o

I get there are things about Chris Pratt's personal life that irk people. At the same time, no one was complaining about Chris Pratt this much when he was voicing the LEGO movies.

Back then I don't think the thing that irked people was known.

Yeah but now it's like people think his animation work is awful when a number of years ago everyone was embracing Emmett in The LEGO Movie.

yeah good point. I think at the end of the day we have to remember this is meant to be a kids movie

Want to know the animated films that actually last?

I think it’s also partly because we have expectations on how Mario should sound, and Pratt isn’t the first person to come to mind. He’s also already done Lego Movie and Onward as well.

Other than the first Despicable Me movie, I haven't seen a single Illumination movie that I enjoyed, hence why my expectations for this are severely low, especially with Chris Pratt's casting (nothing to do with whatever beliefs he may have and I hate that this has to be clarified). Not to mention that people disliking Illumination is not exactly an unpopular opinion, so no, I don't believe the skepticism is unwarranted.
