RIP and thank you for providing much joy and excitement to my childhood! :csad:

This was a real gut punch. I feel like a piece of my childhood died today. :csad:

I fondly remember watching TAS after school as it originally aired in the early 90's. I was blown away by what I was seeing. The show was so ahead of it's time and Mr. Conroy's performance was the heart and soul of it.

Mr. Conroy will go down as the greatest Batman of all time. He created an amazing legacy. He is the definitive Batman.

God bless Kevin.

A real sad day. A loss of a true superhero.

Sad news :csad:

And in other news:

Going to be interesting. Real chance it opens under 180m at the moment. Should have great legs by all accounts, but this might kill it's shot at a billion, because I think it will need something like 550m domestic to even attempt it.

Copying from BP thread: Really enjoyed it. Thought it was a very well made film and managed a difficult situation as well as could be. More sombre and serious than the average MCU film but that’s appropriate in the situation. I’m more a fan of Coogler everyday.

Wakanda Forever didn't fully land for me. It's definitely not a bad movie but I found it a bit dull. There were too few things that really captured my interest, unlike in the first film where most things were really good. That made it really feel long.

I really liked the performances of Angela Bassett and Danai Gurira though. They weren't the only ones that did a good job (pretty much all did) but they stood out to me.

I think Boseman's absence is really felt in the movie which is part of the point. And I think by proxy you struggle to get into the movie a little because you feel that important element missing. I legit missed T'Challa--and Chadwick while watching it. The supporting cast is very strong but I couldnt help but wonder what this film would have been like with him. Man to see Chadwick and Tenoch face off would have been something epic.

I am real curious what the cinemascore is going to be. I think the film lacks some real emotionally lifting scenes that I think could really hurt its legs. No one want to keep going back to be sad for 3 hours.

Post track seems strong, especially among women. Thinking A/A- at worst.

I think WF is going to track very well with audiences. I expect much higher Cinemascores than MoM or L&T

I honestly have no idea. Even with a good cinemascore, it could still be a movie that not a lot of people will want to rewatch. And I could just be projecting my own feelings toward the movie.

It is going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

Hey, it worked for Titanic. *shrugs*

I don't think it'll have the legs that the first one had, especially without China, but having virtually no competition until Avatar will help it tremendously.

"A-" sounds about right for a cinemascore, if I had to guess. I would base that primarily on the film's tone. It might be able to squeak out an "A", but I don't know if the film offers enough levity for the average filmgoer.

China would have no effect on legs, just overall total. Exchange rate could be an issue, but even then you have to consider inflation. Admission wise, it's doing a little worse. It's a bust in Korea, and a lot of markets are under the first flick, L&T, and MOM. But it is early. We will see.

Funny...if anything, Avi Arad is the one who adopted this "kid" at the first place as he (and also Sony) never owns him.

That "kid" was only going back home to his real "parents" to where he really belongs...and even that they still not getting the full custody of him.

Watched the movie, still collecting my thoughts. The Latinx savages were pretty much as racists as I expected. Especially in the light of the comparison to the Wakanda folk. The commentary on colonialism is lost when you know, disconnect the people from it.

The first film is all about empathy for modern people for what happened to them. Here they separate the plight of Latinx/Hispanic folk by tying this all to hundreds of years ago, without a modern prospective. Having the people walk around like savages as opposed to Wakanda, where they keep their traditions, but also have modern tech and clothes.

Outside of that, Namor was cool even with his ugly Yeezys, AB was amazing, Lupita was great, and I enjoyed seeing Okoye again. Riri was fun, but so unnecessary, as was the entire CIA plotline, which just slowed the film down. Could of done with more M'Baku.

I do not expect this to have great legs, as it's super long and super melancholy. Wouldn't be surprised if this tapped out under 500m, even with the A Cinemascore.

Haha, I want someone to bring this up with him. If little Petey is back with "adoptive" daddy Marvel in Avi's eyes, then make him pay a billion dollars a year maintenance with limited visitation rights.

Not totally surprised, but I guess it's hitting better than I was expecting

I expected a good cinemascore but not sure how well that will translate into repeat value compared to other films that receive an A score (I want it to do well). It's obvious high quality to the masses but that doesn't mean they will want to keep going back given the tone and length. Chadwick is such a huge miss. I feel a serious but upbeat sequel with him still as the lead could have done mega-numbers.
