So you can't come up with any valid reasons why its acceptable for Superman and Batman but not WW.

You came up with zero.

Why because I'm not telling you what you want to hear? :funny:

Your acting like an entitled fanboy who's throwing a temper tantrum because your not getting what you want.

Tell me why fasttracking the character into the new DCU benefits the universe they're trying to build? Make a compelling arguement instead of ranting and raving.

I'm all ears.

I'll give one.... "The Trinity".
We suppose to get a new DCU's Superman next year. So is a new DCU's Batman(and a Robin) the next year, probably. So why wait 'till 2029(if ever) to get a new WW - animated or live action?
And you keep bringing up GL, like he never got a live action treatment before... Well he did - 6 years before WW, but it was a collasul failure. why he deserves a new live action before WW?

Again, let's wait and see how this new Superman does first.
If it fails, or is just "ok", then everything planned afterwards will be in jeopardy.

This needs to be the freaking citizen Kane and star wars of CB films.

it would be neat to get superman in 2025 with the batman part 2.

Dcu batman in 2026.Wonder woman in 2026/2027 with new actress.

Superman & Lois is a niche CW show the best live action iteration of Superman of all time and has nothing to do with the new DCU.
Sorry, had to fix that. :D

As to the heated debate, I think that Gal Gadot’s WW was largely loved by audiences, but I also think that people would easily accept another version of it is good. Batfleck didn’t fail because it was too soon in time to Bale. Batfleck failed because he was portrayed as a pill-popping boozer who left floors littered with bullet casings and gave people death sentences via branding. I absolute loved Jenkins’ WW films (both of them actually). But I would easily embrace a new version if it is quality.

I agree. And I don't see why we should believe DC is particularly concerned with the idea of recasting too soon given that Superman Legacy is scheduled for about 2 1/2 years after Cavill's last appearance. And their new Batman will literally be competing in real time with Pattinson, with Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck both seemingly having much larger roles in The Flash than Gal Gadot.

Speaking of WW, Snyder recently revealed that the speculation surrounding WW being a descendant from Kryptonians was true but ultimately dropped due to WB not liking it.

I remember when rumors about that showed up on message boards...I remember people even defending it.

Stuff like this is why when people on sites like this whine about "studio interference" they have lost the script. Studios are what stop dreck ideas like this from coming to fruition. I know the common theory is directors and writers are artists and their vision is pure and should be respected. That is just ridiculous and wrong. If directors and writers were in charge there would be way more films that are like the Snyder Cut than there would be anything else. Studios are a needed check against the ego and preciousness that is the artist.

To me it’s common sense that the three Justice League-rs to be rebooted last will be the three with the most recent movies they want to give the audience time to forget - Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Supes, Batman, and Green Lantern will all be rebooted first, naturally. Obviously Batman’s a bit of an outlier in that he’ll have a concurrent Elseworld incarnation still going, but the other two have been out of the spotlight long enough that they are the obvious picks for first reboots. The others will definitely happen, I have zero doubt (I mean, what did y’all think the point of Paradise Lost was if not to set up a new WW???) just…after those. Martian Manhunter’s the only actual question mark, imo. Only because there’s precedent for his place on the team being replaced entirely. I hope that doesn’t happen though. He’s my fave after Supes.
They can’t replace MM after he got nothing last time out! He’s my fave outside of the Trinity too. Someone mentioned before that they could connect him with the Lantern story and that would totally suit me.

Justin Kroll said we likely won't hear about Superman casting until July.

The Red Flags were always there WB, why have you not seen them?
This man should never have been hired.

No it does not. It just needs to be good and well liked. It doesn't need to recreate how films can be constructed lol

If that would be enough.
But we are at this point where these movies have to be more or they go down.
Look at Black Adam, Shazam or any other comic book movie that underperformed.
Most of them are fine, but that is not enough.

It's not an exact science I don't think, a studio having too much say is harmful just as much as letting a director do whatever he wants.

Having a director/writer just allowed to run amok, particularly with these sort of characters with a lot of heritage & background.. well they produce ideas like the one Snyder spouted which would have probably went down like a lead balloon had it been properly thought out, somehow made it as far as filming, filmed & made it into 1 of the DCEU movies.

An even better example when you let a director basically put every idea he has into a film & film it is Taika Waititi's Thor: Love & Thunder, which was awful.

On the flipside if you've too much & input from the studio you basically end up with the DCEU which was all over the place in terms of tone & overall direction. Basically I think the studio should know who they're hiring, what they're getting beforehand, what they're aiming for to try & get on the same page, then mostly leave them be.

I think there's an important distinction between letting a filmmaker "run amok" with their own creation, and allowing them to do so with an existing IP. I am all for filmmakers getting to let their imaginations run wild with their own original stories and ideas. But with these IP's, above anything else they are hired to be the temporary stewards of a legacy. A legacy that already belongs to the hearts and minds of millions, not just them. Which means they have to put that before their own creative ego. The #1 thing a studio needs to do when choosing that steward, is making sure they respect that legacy in the first place. And Snyder all but said he never did from the get-go. He took pride in sharing how "traditional superheroes" weren't for him because "there wasn't enough sex and violence" for him. That should have been the moment WB said, "You know what? Let's keep looking." But oh well. Let's just hope they've chosen a better steward this time around. At least he talks a better game.

I'd say this is an over-corrective stance. Studios are notorious for both butchering classics and making bad movies even worse. You can point to the Kryptonian thing and say, "See? Aren't studios great?" But that same studio is directly responsible for Josstice League.

So I just think it's more nuanced than what you're suggesting. You need a bit of both ultimately. And through all that chaos you just try your best to make a movie.
