Who should be the villain in a MCU Fantastic Four Film?

This is an off-the-wall suggestion, but the Frightful Four would make a great team of villains for the Fantastic Four to face. They're a great band of lunatic schemers, no matter who is on the team. The Wizard has to lead them, of course, but there are many other members to choose from to fill out the roster. Thundra is one of my favorite villains/anti-heroes, so I'd love to see her appear. Throw in Sandman and that crazy-ass Blastaar and it's a party.

Such a shame about poor Medusa, though. Shaved bald and stuck in a bad TV show. :waa:

Rick Hoffman would be genius casting for Moleman. And he'd be able to deliver some great lines of dialogue and quotes.

The frightful four would definitely be heaps of fun but it’s hard to introduce a team and then also a team of super villains, you’ve only got two hours to tell your story after all. Still, maybe for a sequel?

And there is another option to the medusa, paint pot Pete version...

Rick Hoffman is Mole Man. I think they could even do two villains in the first movie, potentially. Mole Man is the main villain but Victor Von Doom is setup as a sympathetic villain over the course of three movies where we see his character development and evolution to Doctor Doom. We see his reaction to Mole Man as well. Culminating in their eventual face off in the third F4 film.

I know this an old post I am responding to, but no one has ever explained to me why the Frightful Four are even remotely compelling or how crappy characters like Wizard or Trapster are supposed to be interesting.

I'm still on the Mole Man train though Annihilus would be cool too. Regardless, I think they should definitely emphasize the explorer aspect with the team this time around and pick a villain that plays into that.

Doom deserves his own movie. Galactus is to big a threat not to be in an Avengers movie.

Depends though on how they're introducing them. If they'll be introduced in another movie and already have powers there's plenty you can do. Annihilus and the negative zone might play into the multi-verse quantum realm stuff we've already explored and Super Skrull could fit in nicely depending on Captain Marvel 2.

this is a valid question but tbh the guardians of the galaxy sounded like a bad idea before the first movie came out

Galactus should be the next Thanos level villain where all three teams unite (Avengers F4 and X Men). They might even need the combined forces of Red Skull, Magneto and Doom to help out.

I think the FF could ignore the Inhumans series in the same way as Marvel would ignore the Man Thing movie or any of these previous non-MCU films. Maybe Marvel Studios could even retcon things and say that Inhumans came out before the MCU was formed, even though we all know that wasn't the case.

Anyway, the Inhumans would be a good way to have some antagonists who turn out later on not to be the actual villains. And it would be a good way to have the Frightful Four in the opening act which would lead into the Inhumans. But I don't think this should be the first film.

Could the Eternals make a cameo in a Fantastic Four sequel? Idk if they ever clash/meet in the comics

I'm all for Annihilus since A. The Negative Zone is tied to the Ultimate FF's origin and without a space race, that origin story makes more sense. B. He's a villain we haven't seen yet. C. He can reappear in Guardians of the Galaxy 4. D. I'm tired of Doom being tied to the FF's origin and feel he's overused and should be saved for the sequel.

Doctor Doom for Fantastic Four 2 is a great idea. Galactus should be saved for an event film at the end of Phase 4 or 5 (not sure what Phase is what now but whatever Phase contains Guardians 3) as a film where everyone needs to team up to fight a threat greater than Thanos.

For the third film, I really want Miles Teller as The Maker.

Just as long as Phase 6 or whenever Secret Wars comes that Doom is God Emperor over all the multiverse and ultimately all heroes gather to stop him....

I actually think that that'll be the case.

Assume that Doom debuts in Black Panther 2 in Phase 4 (was supposed to be part of Phase 5 but then COVID happened). Phase ends with the Avengers fighting Kang.

Phase 5 becomes a thing and Doom appears in Fantastic Four 2 where the film ends with him being deposed and Lucia Von Bardas takes over Latveria. Avengers 6 is a film about putting Doom back in power since Lucia is even worse. Phase ends with the Avengers, Fantastic Four, the X-Men and X-Factor teaming up to fight Galactus with Doom actually helping the heroes. The X-Men's big bads are Fabian Cortez and Cassandra Nova across two films. A new Guardians team takes on Annihilus.

Phase 6 has Doctor Doom appear alongside Doctor Strange and the two of them try to rescue Doom's mother's soul. He then joins the Fantastic Four and helps them fight an alternate universe Reed Richards. Big bads of Phase 6 are MODOK for the Avengers, Apocalypse and the Brood Queen for the X-Men and Ultron for the Guardians. X-Force becomes a team. Stryfe becomes the biggest bad guy there is for the final film of the phase. Iron Man returns to live after having injected himself with Extremis before his death.

Phase 7 has Doom still with the Fantastic Four and helps them fight the Frightful Four but he's now corrupting the Scarlet Witch to fulfill her destiny as this world's destroyer. Across the multiverse, Doom realizes that the only universes we've seen on screen in any Marvel adaptation to not be destroyed were the Logan universe where X-23 lead the X-Men of 2099 (Bishop, Shard, Archer, Malcolm, Randall and Greystone) and Cable and Kang's future where the Askani fought against Apocalypse's rule after Apocalypse managed to defeat the X-Men. In each world, Charles Xavier becomes Onslaught and kills Magneto which triggers Wanda to end that reality out of grief. The big bads are Mister Sinister for the X-Men (only one X-Men movie this time), Cameron Hodge for X-Force, Green Goblin for the Avengers (who in turn steals control of the Thunderbolts from Baron Zemo) and Deathbird for the Guardians. The phase ends with Jean, now possessed by the Phoenix Force while saving the X-Men from the Brood about to be sent to the Raft by the Avengers which triggers a fight between the Avengers and X-Men, Wolverine was the traitor to the X-Men that Bishop was warned about who kills Xavier and Xavier's disembodied astral form becomes Onslaught and kills everyone after War Machine kills Jean. Onslaught's last murder is Magneto while Bishop and Scarlet Witch remain the only survivors and Wanda fulfills her destiny and destroys the MCU. Bishop and Wanda then awaken in a world where Bishop was never born and Wanda died several years prior where they are temporal anomalies: The Age of Apocalypse. A world that still exists because Xavier died long ago and Magneto assembled the X-Men. Doctor Doom in this world knows more than he really should and when the Human High Council opt for nuclear war even after Apocalypse is defeated, Wanda destroys this world as well... just as Doom wanted. Enter the House of M where Bishop is the only anomaly. Xavier in this world never became Onslaught because there was no reason to as anyone with powers effectively rules over everyone else. It's a world where Iron Man and Baron Zemo lead a resistance movement against Magneto in the last true reality in the multiverse. And as this world comes crashing down when Iron Man assassinates Magneto, all realities remain destroyed and all that remains is Battleworld. God Emperor Doom rules all and a massive battle ensues which leaves Reed Richards and Victor Von Doom as the last two beings in existence. Reed is victorious and his wish to the Beyonder is to restore reality to how it was but in a world where the Avengers let Jean live in peace.

Mad Thinker and his Awesome Android

MADTHINKERORIGIN.jpg

The Mad Thinker (only known as Julius) has long ago lost his humanity in his egotistical quest to prove his vast intellect.

After sabotaging Reed Richard’s experimental spaceflight in a plot to steal his research, Mad Thinker builds his crowning achievement: the Awesome Android.

The Android is built to learn, and mimic the environment around it (much like DC’s A.M.A.Z.O.)—even copying the Fantastic Four’s powers in their first encounter. Eventually, creation turns against its creator as ‘Andy’ becomes self-aware and ascends to godhood.

Unable to match the Android in power, Reed Richards relies on his genius intellect and his family to save the day.

Awesome Andy would be a really awesome way to tie into she hulk

That's my thinking as well.

Mad Thinker & Awesome Andy have a twisted father/son relationship, mirroring the family bonds of the Fantastic Four. And further more, as Andy's mind expands, he begins to learn the secrets of the universe and its wonders--tying into the scientific / exploratory themes of Fantastic Four adventures.

Andy provides a good physical threat, but then later can be redeemed and set-up for future She-Hulk adventures and even a new member of the Future Foundation.

Wow that last gif reminds me of the Iron Giant and Iron Man - this could be one of the better MCU villains that share a deep background story with family themes as the post above me mentioned. Truly a sympathetic villain

My top choice is still Mole Man, but having gotten caught up on Succession...

Jeremy Strong as The Wizard

If we don't wind up getting a proper MCU Osborn, Bentley Wittman could instead be the guy who tries to take on Stark's role in the tech world. And Strong seems like just the sort of actor Marvel would want to scoop up for a villain.

I think they will have to rework the character for the Silver Screen, because I think he is a terrible villain in the comics.

If I had anything to say about it, the Frightful Four and Wizard would be crossed off the list as potential villains.

Reed is ten times smarter than Wizard and their powers are terrible. Where’s the challenge?

And besides, the Frightful Four’s plots typically revolve around killing the FF - which is a terrible thing for a super-hero story.

Superheroes should be protecting innocent people, not themselves.

There’s nothing heroic about trying to not die.

If I were Kevin Feige, I would type up a set of questions like this:

1. Who are the good guys?
2. Who are the bad guys?
3. Why does the audience like the good guys and want them to succeed?
4. Why does the audience dislike the bad guys and want them to fail?
5. How will innocent people be threatened?
6. What will the heroes be risking?
7. What makes the task difficult?

If writers, directors and producers can’t quickly and easily answer those questions, there’s a problem with the project.
