Superman & Lois General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS!)

I’m praying that this show doesn’t go down in quality like the rest of the CW shows

I hope Superman & Lois doesn't suffer the sophomore slump. I agree about the cinematic quality that needs to be maintained from the 1st season.

Lots of tension going on in the family right now.

I might require more viewings but removing the costume's padding feels like it made things worse. The costume comes off as one size too large for Tyler.

New season looks good, "new" suit doesn't, imo. It's almost like they took out the padding but didn't take in the extra material left behind, lol.

Also the location of that damage to the Steel suit is giving me hope for the \S/. :D

Agreed. I still don't know why they can't make it more form fitting for Tyler like his first costume on "Supergirl".

If they do add the iconic 'S' symbol on Steel's armor, then I hope they also change his helmet as well.

Also, the setup with the US government demanding their very own Superman puppet and episode 2x07 being titled "Fallout" is giving me some potential Captain Atom vibes.

Ian Bohen's character is named Mitch Anderson, who is Outburst in the comics with magnetic abilities of his own, so the government trying to make their own superheroes might be the theme/threat this season. Would be kind of a natural escalation from their Kryptonite weapons program last season, imo.

Upon closer inspection, it looks like something or someone is attacking Superman with telepathy. Does anyone know if Superman has any major villains with that type of power?

I mean, Brainiac and Darkseid have both exhibited forms of telepathy before, but it sure as **** ain't them, lol.

Only other one that immediately comes to mind is Manchester Black. Also unlikely, imo.

I was reading up on Outburst and I think it might also be possible that this show is gonna do its own, less heroic version of the "Supermen of America."

At first I thought Mitch Anderson was a made-for-tv character until I also did research on him and learn he's from the comics. I hope he does become Outburst in the 2nd season.

Loved the trailer, feel reassured and excited. :yay:

I'm trying to have a bit of belief that it could potentially become even stronger in quality, but its so hard isn't it?

It feels like it would be so easy for it to slide the other way.

Also, it did kind of look like a psychic attack but could also have been a traumatic flashback if some sort? Or maybe a fear response to a chemical like in Batman Begins?

Love the sound of this :yay:

Yeah, this looks not good, specially the Superman jackets looking like a first try of a cosplayer.

I mean, I think those aren't supposed to look great. They were made on a government budget afterall, lol.

I was referring to my suspicions about the plot being the government wanting to make their own Supermen and possibly a version of the "Supermen of America." Mitch Anderson/Outburst was their team leader in the comics.

And your guess is the soldier named Anderson is the chosen one who should receive power? That plot sounds like a luke-warm version of a John Walker character so far.

No I think Anderson will probably get his own powers eventually toward the end of the season, but I think there's gonna be a few "experiments" before him. Possibly one resulting in Captain Atom (with episode 7 being titled "Fallout" and all). I think their version of the Supermen of America might be more like a group of John Walkers with varying power sets. Magnetism, telepathy, etc.

My low-key hope is that they mix in elements of Wraith/Superman Unchained in there too, but who knows where they'll go. If last season was any indication, even if we can kinda predict what's going on, there will be curve balls and twists on the comic lore.

Have just binged this as it has become available in the UK.
Have to be honest, I LOVED it.
Great cast, even the kids. But the standout is Tyler as Clark/Kal. HE carries the show and his portrayal is spot on for me.
Can't wait for S2. I hope it does well enough here that S2 gets picked up too.

Well, to be fair, the government and even private sector trying to weaponize its own version of Superman is a long standing troupe and most certainly was not invented during the John Walker storyline in Falcon and Winter Soldier or the comics it was loosely based upon.

Heck, Lex has been tinkering on developing his own Superman for decades. It’s given us everything from Connor to Bizarro.
