Dwayne "the rock" Johnson to be in a DC movie. Can you smell what WB is cooking?

I could see Johnson as J'onn, and I could see him play it in a way that actually surprises people by tamping down the sort of over the top-ness audiences might expect. J'onn is taciturn, stoic, philosophical and compassionate with an outsider's view of humanity different from Superman's due to coming to Earth as a full fledged adult. As long as they keep Johnson as J'onn in "Martian" mode and don't moon the audience with him also playing some secret ID also. (He's a perfect shape shifter... Why would he half ass things? Hire other actors to play J'onn in disguise.) J'onn is a low bravado kind of character, so some may think Johnson is not a right fit, but if he could play MM as a sort of Zen like warrior/protector I think he could pull it off swimmingly. And when it comes to power, The Martian Manhunter is a huge asset to the JLA, and right up there with GL, Supes and Flash. My one misgiving is that I am a little unsure of Johnson's voice as J'onn. But that goes hand in hand with the perfomance I suppose, so I'd be equally willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that.

I posted this in another thread.

The rock said he is playing someone never seen before on screen right?
I think i know who it might be,it's could be icon.

Anybody think about that?

I didn't really think about Martian Manhunter but Rock's got the physique and stature to play him and they wouldn't need many more for a Justice League after that.

J'onn, Lobo, Adam, Shazam [Captain Marvel]. I could see Johnson playing any one of them [with my preference being Lobo] due to his sheer size, which is actually the reason why I baulk at the idea of his as Stuart. Stuarts well built, but he's not Dwayne Jonson built.

What if he's playing a villain? Darkseid would be interesting to see.

Maybe its Shazam. I could see him playing a kid in the body of an adult.

If its John Stewart, then they will make GL really powerful

I think it's Aquaman.

"...he had to be extremely complex and have a lot going on...he had to be a badass mother***ker and on a Superman level of power where he could throw down."

As the King of Atlantis, he's definitely got "a lot going on." Also, being an infamously lame character (I mean, to the public), Aquaman desperately needs to be viewed as a "badass mother***ker," and casting the Rock in that role would be a good business move.

And I guess they'd be likely to go along the lines of this aesthetic -

I also think it is Aquaman. Makes sense to me.

This guy right here gets it.

As far as his voice goes, its deep enough imo but I think they'd add a filter to just about any actors voice

I don't really see him as J'onn. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Hes probably looking at being a character that drives a set of movies. So Im still thinking good guy. MM not so sure. Shazam, GL, Aquaman more likely.

I still think he would be a great fit as a lead in a Green Lantern Corps. movie.

Well, the Rock pretty much admitted he's not playing John Stewart, so we can put that rumor to bed.

Darkseid makes the most sense if he's a villain.

If he's an antihero, I think Black Adam could be a perfect choice. He could be used in a Loki kind of way... introduced as a villain first in a JL movie and then have him eventually become a hero. Billy Batson could even be introduced, though they could change up his origin a bit so that he doesn't become Shazam/Captain Marvel until a later film.

Black Adam would be great
Lobo would be ok but i'd prefer Jason Momoa

But what about AMAZO???

I'm not sure about all this Aquaman talk he did say someone as powerful as superman....i think?

isnt Aquaman closer to Hawkmans level?

Yep Aquaman is not even on WW level. I don't think he is at Superman's level.

Has to be Lobo. No one would really describe's GL John Stewart as a "pure bad ass mf". I think it will be a great move. Lobo is basically a WWE character with powers. Doesn't need an oscar winning thespian to play him. The Rock would be perfect.

He would totally boss that role.

He has the body and the energy to put in the charisma needed for LOBO.

Still i'm ok with Black Adam, Lobo or Amazo.

yeah his constant comments of badassery do seem to go that direction...however, Lobo in the Justice League movies?
