Dawn of Justice vs Civil War vs Apocalypse

Box office: DOJ due to having a month to itself.

Critics: Civil War

Personal favorite: DOJ due to the historical nature of the event.

One question: Which question is the poll for?

One answer: whichever one you want.

I made it ambiguous on purpose. Whichever one you think deserves the vote most. lol. idk.

Okay. Since DOJ was my answer to two of the three questions that is what I went with.

I'm going with Dawn of Justice for all three. We've seen X-Men movies. We've seen Captain America and Ironman. We've never seen Batman and Superman together on the big screen fighting each other.

Which will be the most successful at the box office?

Civil War

- Which will critics regard most favourably?

Civil War.

- Which will be your personal favourite?

Civil War.

Man, AoA is getting no love here.

Critics: Apocalypse

Civil War

I'm split on this, but either Civil War or XM: Apocalypse

- Which will be your personal favorite?

Likely Civil War

I think it could be the critics choice, as DOFP was highly praised. After this many X-men films, I think we know where the ceiling is for the fan base, so I can't see it coming out on top at the box office. The big x-factor is DoJ, as it's hard to know what to expect, but I'm going with Civil War for one reason Robert Downy Jr. $$$$

Box Office: Will be close between DoJ and Civil War. On one hand, its the first time Batman and Superman have ever been on the big screen together in live action. On the other, Marvel is killing it, Cap and Tony are incredibly popular right now, and they will be coming off of the sure to be success Age of Ultron

Critics Choice: Possibly X-Men. If not them, then Civil War for sure.

Personal Favorite: Cap is my favorite hero, and I love the Civil War comic. Next is BvS, because I've always dreamed of seeing those 2 together. Least of the 3 is Apocalypse, because I'm not a giant fan of the X-films, and I don't know if Apocalypse will be as good as he is in the comics.

If Marvel keep hitting them out of the park then I think Civil War will do well.

The novelty of Batman v Sups will be a huge draw. Just think Snyder is the wrong choice. It will look good but I think there will be some problems. WB has to make this work, they have a lot of films riding on this. I expect a huge marketing push from them.

X-men have upped their game recently. It's going to be a good year for comic fans.

I'm sure all those movies will do well. But my personal favourite would be the real breakout star of 2016:

Box office: I would hope DOJ due to the magnitude of Batman and Superman sharing the same big screen for the first time, but I'll say it does about the same as Civil War.

Critics: Probably Civil War, but I think Terrio is gonna be a real game changer for WB, it'll be a great movie but I'm not sure the critics will feel the same way.

Personal favorite: I've waited since 1997 to see this on the big screen, DOJ gets my vote by a billion miles.

I think all 3 movies will do well...

But i think Civil War will win all three (as it is my favorite one) questions!

I see Civil War maybe being the "best" marvel movie till then - critical and at the box office! I think the movie will be just awesome...

LPredict:

- Which will be the most successful at the box office?
- Which will critics regard most favorably?
- Which will be your personal favorite?

BOX OFFICE:

Batman v Superman or Civil War.

BVS has the novelty of them being in the same movie for the first time like Avengers had plus it's a new Batman which will get people in seats.

Civil War because of Iron Mans inclusion and his bulletproof status

RATINGS:

Apocalypse will most likely be the most favourably reviewed.

Both times a Captain America move has gone up against an X-Men movie X-Men has beaten Cap, I see no reason for that streak to come to an end.

BvS is coming off of MOS and that wasn't looked on favourably.

PERSONAL FAVOURITE:

Probably be either Apocalypse as I love the franchise and it's been hitting them out of the park with quality but I'm really looking forward to BvS too

If the trailer for BvS is good then I think BvS will win at the box office. If not, I can see Civil War taking it. Looking forward to all 3 though. Let's hope they're all amazing films cause then it won't matter.

Box Office: Civil War. Dawn will win the weekends, but I think Civil will have the longevity.

Critics Pick: Toss up between Apocalypse and Civil War.

My Pick: Once again, a toss up between the Russo Bros and Singer, just as it was this year.

Box Office: It's a toss-up between DoJ and Civil War. I think DoJ will have the biggest start, but CW will probably have better word-of-mouth and longer legs.

Critic's Pick: Civil War or Apocalypse. Zack Snyder has yet to direct a film that receives the kind of critical acclaim that the most recent installments from the other two franchises got. The only chance he has of faring better with this one is Chris Terrio, who's never written a movie like this, so he's far from a sure thing, either. The movie he did before Argo was pretty blah, imo, but he's at least a step up from Goyer.

My Pick: Civil War. I echo the notion that the Evans/Downey combo is more appealing than Cavill/Affleck, but the other advantage with CW is that these characters have an established history, which means more built-in emotional investment in the conflict.

Has to be Apocalypse for me, huge X-Men fan, have been since the 90's cartoon, and Apocalypse was my favourite villain by far in that. Not to mention, all 3 of Singers X-Men films have been genuinly amazing.

I am looking forward to the other 2, but at the same time I have reservations about both. I think both have come too early in their respective universes (a CW movie with about 20 heroes involved, sounds more like a civil street fight, and including a whole new Batman character, actor and arc into a Superman movie where Superman was barely established at the end of the 1st film?), were as Apocalypse has been a long build up which I just cant not paying off big time. I am a fan of Singer as a director in general also, though I am of Whedon and Snyder too.

You can't say that Superman was barely established where Apocalypse has been a long build up for.

With who? CB fans? Regular fan goers didn't know who Thanos or Apocalypse were at the end of Avengers and DOFP respectively.

You just love arguing with me dont you? :cwink:

I didnt mean Apocalypse the character was a long build-up, I mean the movie in terms of The X-Men themselves, this is going to be a disaster level event movie, and it seems the whole franchise has been building up to that. Apocalypse seems a natural progression after the events of DOFP and the original trilogy. I wouldnt have said Batman vs Superman was, I personally wanted a direct sequel to MOS, MOS2.

Same with Civil War, after loving TWS so much, I wanted to see the direct continuation of that storyline, with more Cap, Bucky, Falcon, Crossbones, Sharon Carter, Black Widow and hopefully Hawkeye and a new villain. But at this moment it seems all of that will take a back seat to CW and Cap vs Stark.
