2 more Norse, 3 Shinto?
Some things though:
I need to know the following. And whilst it may not be vital, I would love to just hear the answers:
- How did Kratos survive that stab from Athena? By all accounts, he was dead.
***He's a tough to kill God.
- What brought him to the Norse realm? Did he travel? Or did Athena maybe send him?
***Speculation is the designers booked all the details of what happens before and after this, and we will see more sooner than later.
- Do the Norse gods have a beef with the greeks? Are they aware that they had fallen? Do they want to stop Kratos now more than ever because of who he is, after he killed Baldur and one of Thors sons? Do they fear now that HE will bring Ragnorok?
*** It looks like their first interaction is a case of Mistaken identity. Now though, they see this outsider as a threat. Godkiller. Nothing Norse Gods fear more than Ragnarok. And Loki's fate is to be chained into a cave (with a snakes venom bleeding onto him) till Ragnarok starts. As Punishment for killing Baldur.
So many questions that I hope the next games truly delve in to.
*** As stated, they are quoted as saying sooner than later. And with that ending...
I just got it today from a friend who did not like it but could not return it (cause he opened it) game stop was only gonna give him 30 trade in so I bought it for 40 sells for 50 used).
cory himself said a lot of the time came from mapping out the next two trilogies and creating the gameplay and style from scratch. He himself said it wasn't going to take another 5 years. They also aren't working on multiple games. When they work on god of war, they work on god of war.
I'm at level 6, near 7, but I'm REALLY taking my time with this game. I'm exploring everything before finishing the main story (tasks and side quests). That allows me to discover new and powerful gear as I go so I can equip them before a new main mission. The progress feels more fun this way and the journey more satisfying.I love this game. It didnt grab me at first and found it hard but its clicking now. I cant even remember when that happened. The story is amazing and has me very intriguied to keep playing and find out more. I am at the part where. Im guessing Im near the end? My level is only 4 which seems rather low but Im prioritizing finishing up the main quest so I can finally join in on the conversationsyou escape Helheim and are underneath the portal place in Midgard
With the recent talks about a PS5 in or before 2021, the chances for a GoW sequel in the PS4 are even smaller. Keep your expectations low, guys.
I have 0 hopes to see the sequel with the current generation. Horizon ZD has bigger chances, though, but I'm not counting it being realesed on the PS4 either.
Did he not play through it? Its hard to imagine any gamer sticking with this and not liking it. I didnt care for it at first but it eventually clicked with me. I definitely understand the GotY talk now
I'm not in a hurry. If they need 3 or 4 years to make a game that is at least as good as this one, then so be it.All I know is we are getting a sequel within 3 years.
[BLACKOUT]I dont think Ragnarok will be the next game. I think Freya will be the main villian and it will focus on her trying to get revenge on Kratos. Ragnarok may be the end of the trilogy[/BLACKOUT]I just finished it and got the Platinum trophy at the same time.
I figured it was the masterpiece that people talk about before I was halfway through. Having seen its true ending [blackout](with Thor)[/blackout] made me even more sure of it.
I hope the next game wraps up this mythology, though. I don't think we need a trilogy for this. We can have [blackout]Thor, Odin and the Ragnarok[/blackout] by the next game.

If they REALLY want to push a trilogy, then I can see that, but we saw that [blackout]Ragnarok was sped up a lot by the death of Baldur so it will happen sooner than expected.[/blackout] And I don't want them restraining themselves too much. They should do as much as they can. I was surprised we didn't get to [blackout]fight at least Thor, in this game. If the next one isn't closing this, I think he should be the main or one of the main villains. We definetely should close the book on him.[/blackout][BLACKOUT]I dont think Ragnarok will be the next game. I don't want a movie of something that's already so cinematic. If they REALLY want to push a trilogy, then I can see that, but we saw that [blackout]Ragnarok was sped up a lot by the death of Baldur so it will happen sooner than expected.[/blackout] And I don't want them restraining themselves too much. They already planned out the next 5 games and it is already confirmed this is a trilogy. They know what they are doing. Also I expect the worlds to start bleeding together. Especially with getting those Tyr hints.I don't want a movie of something that's already so cinematic. If they REALLY want to push a trilogy, then I can see that, but we saw that [blackout]Ragnarok was sped up a lot by the death of Baldur so it will happen sooner than expected.[/blackout] And I don't want them restraining themselves too much. Not a rumor. Cory said it.There are rumors that they planned 5 games. It doesn't necessarily need to be a trilogy just for the norse myths. Could be 2 for norse, 2 for egypt, 1 for shinto, maybe.
I just don't want them restraining themselves on content and story because of a need to make this a trilogy. They don't need to rush it, either. But the ground has been laid and the lore, established. They can go much deeper, now.
Do we have any quotes from him about a trilogy just for norse? They already planned out the next 5 games and it is already confirmed this is a trilogy. They know what they are doing. Also I expect the worlds to start bleeding together. Especially with getting those Tyr hints.
Maybe he wasn't being literal about actually doing it. Just that it was mapped in his head. Not a rumor. Cory said it.
https://kotaku.com/why-god-of-war-took-five-years-to-make-1825653009I'd be fine with that.
Funny how Kratos said that fate is another lie told by the gods, but he followed it to a tee with Atreus.Do we have any quotes from him about a trilogy just for norse?

He did say after that "ok. to be honest, 5 games would literally kill me. you can rest assured the reality is going to be more measured than the speculation in the @kotaku discussion."
Cory: Totally. But thats what I wanted. Some of the most compelling series to me dont always do everything in the firstthey set a lot of stuff up so the power of the characters and the interactions in the second or third really resonate strongly.
Jason: So how much of the future game plan do you have mapped out in your head?
Cory: Five games.
