Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

Those are flawed comparisons lmao.

1. Why would you use Darcy of all characters? How about Wanda? Monica? Vision? Agnes? The actual main characters of the show who got PLENTY of development, because that doesn't work to your advantage.

2. AOS hasn't mattered to the MCU In about 5 years but it absolutely did tons for Coulson as a character and I don't even watch the show, it's pretty obvious he went beyond a random Shield Agent.

Its perfectly acceptable to prefer films to TV for Whatever reasons but the idea that TV doesnt 9 times out of 10 give more development to characters is weird. Wanda had more development in this last episode than In all her films combined.

Now that you mentioned it, what if the big Luke Skywalker cameo is Professor X, and as you said Agatha is looking at her through a magical lens, so they bring in the Professor to have him look at Wanda through a Mutant one?

If they want to make her a Mutant, but not reveal she's Magneto Daughter yet, then the Professor would work, and having the Professor be the one to reveal she's a Mutant, Mutants exist in the MCU, etc. etc. would be an ideal way of doing it.

Also Hayward reminds me of Stryker, and so far I actually find him to be more of the villain than Agatha. .
I would prefer if we don't see Xavier until the X-Men's movie is 1 year away

Also the only character really developed in this IMO is Wanda, and they could have renamed it just "Scarlet witch" instead of calling it WandaVision as Vision definitely acts like a supporting character to Wanda and not a lead. The premise of this was rather simple especially after finding the revelations in episode 8. This isn't a produceral drama that you can't cram 10 cases in a 2 hour movie. And this isn't like Lost as well in which you would lose so much character development from the cast if you trim the entire season to a 2 hour film.
WandaVision is a play on words as in the whole place is a television show created from her mind - rather than Vision just meaning the character Vision. The show is definitely primarily about her.

They've done a really good job with Monica too. Love her Ep 4 intro.

She has me much more excited for Captain Marvel.

I finished watching Its a Sin recently and I was so impressed with Olly Alexander as an actor. He would make a really fun and important Iceman

Basically. ;)

Agnes and Monica didn't get more character development than Black Widow in Captain America Winter Soldier. If I didn't know Kathryn was playing a comic book character, I'd be assuming she was playing a minor role before episode 7.

While I used Darcy as an eXample that just because someone's in a series, it doesn't mean automatically mean they would be developed more.

As for Vision, like I said he is playing support character right now to Wanda and not as lead. I actually eXpected more from him as his name is in the title of the show.

1. I don't know what my advantage you are implying to. But See my post above.

2. Only for the people that watched the show or aware of the show.

And as for Wanda... if she didn't get more character development in the four hours she appeared in the first 8 episodes, then that would be just weird. But still plenty of her scenes are filler in the earlier episodes. Its only now that they arefinally wrapping up the show that we aregetting the juicier parts

After watching this last episode of WandaVision, idk how Marvel will introduce mutants into the main MCU... I do like the ultimate comics however I also love the 616 universe. I think a X-amen evolution approach would be good, get actors who in their young teens or early 20s that can grow into their characters for years. However we also don’t want to see “teens” again after the first class films.

Yeah, thats the issue.
Fox latest 4 prequels created real fatigue in the public eye, with "teen X-Men" or young adult X-Men not being appealing to general audience (since it was a whole new cast, not the originals from 2000s, so a fresh X-Men cast at the end of the day). So..... Feige will likely want to bring a whole different take this time around.

I think the biggest problem with the Fox films is that they seldom felt like real team movies. One or two X-men would be given the spotlight, usually Logan or Xavier and everyone else felt like sidepieces. If Marvel can nail the ensemble feel, make Iceman feel as important as Rogue who feels as important as Nightcrawler etc. I think that will be enough to distinguish the MCU's take.

yes, but a key to Fox dissapointing numbers and impact on general audience had a lot to do with the marketing too, I think. As you suggest, the own X-Men didnt look appealing, exciting at all in the trailers and spots, because....well........... they barely appeared in all those trailers and spots. So if we add this and the actual movies that didnt put enough focus on them.... how can Fox expect general audience and new viewers to be really excited and invested in the X-Men? if they barely got to know them lol. Its ridiculous. Doing X-Men movies during 8 years where the audience basically didnt learn who and how were those x-men and their story and relationships. Hell, even the x-men didnt know each other at all :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny: :funny:
Did young Storm ever talk to Beast in the prequels? or Jean and Storm? or Kurt and Storm? or Scott and Hank in DP?
there we have the answer of why Fox prequels failed to the audience (aside from Dofp numbers and critics)

All this talk about Monica and Darcy makes me glad Monica was already Photon when the show started.

Who cares about character development, just pack that ish in a flashback and get to the good part; her flying around already :D :o

The first trailer for MCU X-Men needs to show everyone that things are very different now and give people jaded with the concept of X-Men a reason to give it a new chance.

Which obviously didn't happen as they are probably saving it to the end. Did we watch the same show? :D

Who knows maybe they would save the Mutants' power abilities towards at the end of the show as well? :o all the movie like budget is put to good use.

Yeah, I don't understand

The MCU jumps around all over the place based on the story they want to tell. How is that even not more obvious now?

Wanda's entire episode was flashbacks. Ranging from way before AOU to post End Game.

Monica and Wanda both had their stories told in a non linear format.

It depends on the eXecution.

But I definitely don't want to see Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Storm, Rogue and Nightcrawler as teens again unless its a X-Men Origins anthology one off episode.

Thats just my preference though.

Name one instance when the MCU jumped ahead 10-15 years in a (lead) character's tenure

I'm mostly eXcited to see comic book accurate costumes for once, and not cosplay-ish costumes seen in Apocalypse that weren't even seen again.

I also want to see a fierce Danger Room scene filled with action.

No reason to not give us both of those this time around. One major change is that I believe Marvel/Feige will believe in the characters and IP and treat it with respect. Fox were too nervous and the early productions were always at risk of last minute budget cuts to throw things into chaos and the compromises helped set X-Men’s place in the audience’s mind.

There is no real reason they can’t be as big as Avengers when someone passionate and capable is given the keys with a MCU budget and the backing/backdrop/safety net of the MCU to be able to take risks with less downside.

but it was poorly handled, Photon should have gotten a movie with a 180m budget!

A lot of people have been theorizing that the super secret actor Bettany was reffering was himself. Yep, he was talking about himself and the White Vision the whole time. And he's the actor he always wanted to share scenes with.

I'm choosing to believe this is not true, because it's so stupid and silly, it's hard to find words to describe.

Once again just so everyone knows, no one from the show ever said there will be a Luke level cameo, they simply said there would be a similar circumstance where a suprise character makes an appearance which could very well have been Evan Peters.

Fans across the internet have a knack for making wild inferences based on very little.
