No Way Home Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer 2 Thread

Umm, so what is that scene where Peter tries to take the box from Dr Strange? There is another Spiderman in the portal trying to pull him with his web shooters. Did they forget to edit it out?
No, thats Toms spidey.

I love how factually this is being stated at this point. To avoid possible disappointment I'm still going with:
Doc Ock and Green Goblin working with Spider-Man might be what's taken out of the footage here.

Seen a few leaks confirm that and Feige is also walking around telling people to turn down their expectations. We'll see how it turns out.

If that’s true with what you are saying about GG I’m going to be severely disappointed. Ock yes. Makes sense and I can totally work with that. But GG? There’s no way Marvel could be that stupid.

So one other thing I noticed is that there are so many insane people out there who keep questioning the MJ falling scene and asking the dumbest question ever - are they going to ''Gwen Stacy'' her? Why are people comparing Tom's MJ to Andrew's Gwen instead of Tobey's MJ from the original trilogy? MJ is MJ in the MCU, not Gwen, goddamnit. What is wrong with you people? Tom's MJ's fate will be the same fate as Tobey's MJ because it's MJ.

I also don't really see the point in Andrew saving Tom's MJ or how that would be his ''redemption''? It would make a little bit more sense if Tom's love interest wasn't MJ, but also Gwen. Then making it Andrew saving a variant of Gwen would be kinda touching, but it still wouldn't be anywhere near a ''redemption''. Andrew saving MJ doesn't make much sense at all and if anything, it would only take away from Tom's Spider-Man character. I'm pointing that out because so many people are whining about Tom's Spider-Man not being able to do anything on his own. And then those same people want someone else to do Tom's work for him again. Hilarious.

It’s a great moment for Andrew and parallels his previous loss with Gwen.

Again, so whining about Tom's Spider-Man not being able to do anything on his own and then wanting the movie to take away arguably the biggest moment from him? I don't even know what to say.

Also, it doesn't parallel a goddamn thing. In Andrew's universe, it's Gwen. In Tom's universe, it's MJ. Those are two totally different people. Like I said, it would make a little bit more sense if Tom's MJ wasn't MJ, but Gwen also, but even then it would obviously be a totally different person. Not to mention the idiocy regarding the whole ''redemption'' thing. To Andrew, Tom's MJ is just some random chick from another universe. I'm sure Andrew's Spider-Man saved a random chick in his own universe at least once after Gwen's death so by your logic, that was his ''redemption''. What's the difference between a random chick from his own universe and a random chick from the MCU? Nothing.

What the trailer scene parallels is Tobey's MJ's fall in Spider-Man 3, at best.

So guys, in retrospect now that the dust’s settled ….what were these “BIG Surprises” Sony was alluding to when hyping up this event? :funny:

So... let me get this straight. The other Spider-Men being omitted from that shot is just pure wish-fullfilment from fans because Tobey and Andrew are totes not in the movie since Feige said so, but it actually being Doc Ock and Green freaking Goblin allied with Tom's Peter is all the more likelier to you?

There has been no leak confirming that stupid notion, no idea where the hell you're getting this from. :funny:

I could almost see...
Doc Ock teaming up with him, but Green Goblin, doesn't really track?
unless
the other Goblin we see is in fact {James Franco's}Harry Osborn "New Goblin" who did end up teaming up with (his worlds) Spider-man by the end of SM3... or maybe even some new version altogether from an alternate universe
althought...
Ock and Gobby are suspiciously absent from that fight(s) {lineup of villains} and there is that brief scene that appears to be Ock being struck by electro's lightning
so, I don't think is that far of a reach

that isn't "another Spider-man" that is himself... Strange simply opened two portals one in front of Spider-man, that leads to the portal behide him so when he shots his web through the first one he is in fact shooting himself... quite brilliant in its simplicity really

Yeah, thanks for confirming. I thought they had missed something but on watching it back again, I could see it was all the same.

Its the mirror dimension. You see Strange chasing him through it in the trailer.

That's not what I said at all. Not even close.

Huh. I skimmed through it earlier and genuinely thought you wrote that as a factual opinion rather than a subjective one. I apologize for how I reacted.

Although, I still find it perplexing why you're choosing to believe that it's Doc Ock and Green Goblin in that shot. From the account of leaks, Goblin is going to be a despicable villain in this and given the things he's supposedly doing in this movie, I just can't see him and Tom's Spidey working together in the climax.

The Lizard cock-up is 100% either Tobey or Andrew kicking him.

No worries, it can be hard to read intent online. It happens.

Honestly, it's mostly just a case of me being burned too many times in the past by hype train (see also WandaVision), so I'm trying to avoid getting sucked into the "several Spider-Men teaming up one." Until I either see it in theater or Sony confirms it. Especially since Garfield came out only two weeks ago and said this about playing Spider-Man:
I went from being a naive boy to growing up. [...] How could I ever imagine that it was going to be a pure experience? [...] There are millions of dollars at stake and that’s what guides the ship. It was a big awakening and it hurt.

Comic-Con in San Diego is full of grown men and women still in touch with that pure thing the character meant to them. [But] you add in market forces and test groups and suddenly the focus is less on the soul of it and more on ensuring we make as much money as possible. And I found that–find that–heartbreaking in all matters of the culture. Money is the thing that has corrupted all of us and led to the terrible ecological collapse that we are all about to die under.

I can't imagine him being allowed to say that by the studio (and his own team) that if he's currently on the payroll for the new big Spider-Man movie.

Did anyone else not like the trailer. The trailer itself or some of the assumed story beats?? I'm not the biggest fan of the iteration of Peter so I'm not surprised it's more of the same. But I really didn't like it. It would have a really great looking scene followed by not great looking cgi fan service or a line of dialogue I don't like.

That pretty much sums up the consensus around here regarding the trailer so you’re not alone.

You're in good company dude, on this forum anyway the general consensus is that this trailer was a mess. It has some promising content but messily put together and not very aesthetically pleasing. I rewatched the first teaser trailer this morning and its MUCH better, just from an editing and build up standpoint.

You’re basically a variant version of myself. Every time I read your post I have to do a double take and make sure I didn’t post it and forget. Feel exactly the same way.

I loved the first trailer. I would go as far as to say that the first trailer is a textbook example of how a trailer should be done. Had a build up, was paced perfectly and a hell of an ending.

Second trailer….not so much.

Lizard “cock-up”? Which trailer did you see? Your trailer seems like it had more fun in it then the one I saw. :oldrazz:
T'is a British term, my dude. :hehe:

I meant the extra second of footage from Sony Brazil that had Lizard's head recoil back as if hit by something.
