Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness general news and discussion thread

I thought the teaser was fine but kind of average if I’m being honest. It was quite subdued, lacked in great content and overall it didn’t really pack that much of a punch.
What I liked most was that shot of Scarlett Witch conjuring something. I thought Baron Mordo new Rasta look was nice and also Doctor Strange doing some cool moves like the three headed dragon and the magical saw blade. The evil Doctor Strange reveal was interesting and it seems as though there’s 3 different versions of DS when you also look at the merchandise. So Doctor Strange, evil Doctor Strange and Defender Doctor Strange?

Now that evil DS can’t be Strange Supreme from “What If?” right? He’s way too OP for the MCU. I guess he could be somewhat of a variation on that character… Anyways I’m a bit on the fence on the concept of what seems like 3 different DS iterations by Cumberbatch in the same film.

Not gonna lie, Strange Supreme was pretty cool and what I liked most about him in the “What If” was the exploration of that character itself, the journey with the him turning evil… I feel like they might be using him differently in this though.

I thought the teaser was okay, I was just happy to see Wanda. I'm hoping for a more in depth one soon.

I thought the teaser was interesting. Not a dark movie from what I can tell and the Shuma-Gorath section reminded me of the fight against Thanos' henchmen in New York at the start of Infinity War.

It was also interesting to see Strange approach Wanda not to chase her down, but to admit he screwed up to.

Yeah, they pretty much had to officially drop that after it floated around online last week once No Way Home released in theaters.

So the actor who plays the villain
will be someone with whom BC always wanted to work with

I‘d prefer those collages like the final Hawkeye-Poster

Its just a teaser so theyre just giving us a slight glimpse at the movie. My one quibble so far--and hopefully its for naught-- is it doesnt look very much like a Sam Raimi movie, it looks very MCU-y in terms of cinematography. But I'm gonna reserve judgement until the first full trailer.

Imho the camera angles already looked very sinister, like you know, that there’s something wrong.
Like when the Lamia demon is teasing it’s arrival in DMTH

I felt the same way and heard- albeit only once- another person on Twitter say something similar. Not a huge metric, sure, but yeah you look at this teaser and it doesn't give off the vibe that it's a Sam Raimi film, the same way you can watch a trailer for an Edgar Wright film and immediately tell that he directed it.

But hey, maybe we'll be proven wrong in the final product.

I'm not sold on the Superman III "Evil Version of the Superhero" angle in this, but everything else looks solid to me.

While the teaser trailer wasn’t anything special. It was alright. The poster was a nice and welcome change of pace from the usual stuff we get.

I just noticed all previous old Marvel logos appear during the Marvel Studios logo.

I find it funny they use the “Don’t cast that spell” line from Wong that was in the NWH teaser when it wasn’t in the movie itself.

I think it's the usual misdirection Marvel uses in the trailers. I believe the real Villain is
Wanda being consumed by the darkhold while searching for his children in the Multiverse.

I'm still a little upset Derrickson couldn't get to use Nightmare and the Dream Dimension.

I don't expect this movie to be even a bit as crazy as Carpenter's masterpiece and I won't blame Raimi for this.
