I don't even know what they heck you or these other people on twitter are talking about. It's like they are being deliberately obtuse. If you make $450,000.000 you pay 35% today. Under the proposed plan...guess what? You pay 35%. If you make more than $237,950.00-$424,000.00 your rate goes up from 33% to 35%. At worst it is poorly worded. I see though what they are trying to say but their figures are wrong. If you make $480,000 to $1,000,000 your rate decreases from 39% to 35%. Why they chose a number that falls in a completely different tax bracket, I have no idea. Why we play this sort of gotcha politics. I have no idea. Instead of understanding the issues or discussing the issues in depth we look for things like this to pounce on. Like I said, it's poorly worded.

Words matter in politics. If NOT a poor choice of words then yes... It says something about the world view of people that try to style themselves the true representatives of the "salt of the Earth, average American" who is under assault from "the elites".

I'm seeing rumors that this doesn't have the votes to get out of committee.

Another great success for the GOP. Though I remain wary.

If it doesn't get out of committee that means it won't reach the floor for a proper vote, right?

.... thanksgiving is coming up. Will Congress "take a break"? Then here comes Christmas a few weeks after that. Another break?

There's no excuse not to craft something and to offer it up for a vote in these next several weeks before the year is out. Do your jobs, public officials.

That man should not be left alone tonight. He might hurt himself. Maybe Fox News should call in councilors to help their crew deal with the losses.

My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

Democrats have managed to flip around twenty seats tonight, in and outside of Virginia, while the GOP has yet to flip any. Christmas has come early!

State seats, yes. In some very staunch R districts. In a larger congressional district, even gerrymandered, things could go much, much worse for an R candidate. VA has 7 R representatives. They are going to be sweating bullets. I expect half to announce retirement.

Seriously, the VA House of Delegates going from a 66/100 member R control, to possibly losing control to the Dems, is kind of a cannon shot across the bow.

I think a lot of R representatives may be planning retirement.

Maybe this will reassure some of the people that thought the Dems were finished for good and doom was upon us.

I hope the GOP here in North Carolina is paying attention. Moore and Berger have been wielding their supermajority in the House and General Assembly to thwart newly installed Democratic governor Roy Cooper's planned legislation. Maybe if they actually work with him instead of "saying no" (sound familiar?), they might be able to save face.

And if the blue wave engulfs NC next year (like it has for Virginia), their gerrymandering shenanigans can only do so much.

Democrat Manka Dhingra leads Republican Jinyoung Lee in the 45th district state Senate seat. If she wins she can flip The Seattle state Senate blue.

Are they still trying to strip the governor of his powers?

They've canceled judicial elections, want to consolidate two government boards, and just going "ne ne ne" to Cooper by refusing to hear his nominations for positions he has to fill. Cooper managed to increase our film incentive grant, got HB2 overturned, and then signed a non-discrimination executive order to protect LGBT government employees.

Cooper is doing his best to work with the GOP, but Moore and Berger are just as bad as McConnell and Ryan are with working with Democrats.

I know a lot of red states are going to be sweating next year.

I am excited for next year. Time to take MI back from the GOP. Who quite literally have blood on their hands here.

North Carolina is a purple state. I can definitely see some incumbent GOP politicians losing in some gerrymandered areas next year if the Democrat turnout is vigorous and enthusiastic like in Virginia.

It would be unreal if NC followed VA in terms of seats flipped.

I think what is amazing is that 11 women unseated incumbent men in VA.

I think the Women's March was a real sign. Women are motivated and energized now. The GOP of old white men better watch their ass.

And people of color, transgendered persons, even socialists.

Yeah, CNN was listing a bunch of firsts, and it was quite impressive.

I know they should be focusing on 2018, but just imagine if Doug Jones beats Roy Moore in Alabama next month. That would ruin Trump's first term.

Makes me so happy. :D Maybe there is hope for America after all.
