I could go on and on and on. Maybe there was a reasonable conservative position back in the day... but now... all I see is a bunch of upper middle class white men trying to keep as much as they can, even at the expense of others. Morality and conservatism... in this day and age... are incompatible.
Modern american conservatism is, when its all boiled down, one singular concept: Selfishness. That's why so many of them are huge fans of Ayn Rand.Even issues like racism come down to the need to prove yourself better than other people without actually having to work at self-improvement.

And the worst part about it is that they claim to be the "moral majority". This philosophy could not be more of a polar opposite to Jesus' teaching, it's honestly straight up heresy. They rant and rave against "the culture", when they themselves have become inundated with cultural trends of selfish individualism.

Geez. :( Don't publish the truth... it will cause a panic!

People like Pruitt are rightfully criminals against humanity on a global scale. And one day history will record them as such.

It sounds like Ryan is trying to stop a small fracturing of the party, as some House members are trying to force a vote on DACA.

So, the Tea Party killed the Farm Bill in the House today...

The Tea Party has killed many things in the House. And people still elect them for...? What have they accomplished besides obstructing literally everything they touch?

Liberal tears are the only reward they need. Why do conservatives vote in the Tea Party? Because the liberal hippies hate em. 'Merica.

That is literally all that matters to a lot of them. It's insane. They don't care at all about policy or anything that matters. They just hate liberals so much that they'll back anything just to "bask in liberal tears".

Which is basically the exact same phenomenon going no now with a larg segment of the Democrats under a Trump presidency. Even the non-crazy stuff that'd be par-for-the-course with any other dude in office becomes shrieking hysteria.

It's bigger than the parties, it's just what the country is now. Clean divide right down the middle with everyone hating everyone in the opposing camp.

I don't see anyone on the Left complaining about Republicans who want to work with them to find solutions to problems they both care about. Partisanship is present on both sides, but the Left doesn't make bipartisanship a cuss word like the Right has.

And this isn't even about partisanship, this isn't even about the absurd actions of Trump that rightfully raise outrage from the Left. This is about "conservatives" doing outrageous things for the sole purpose of causing outrage.

All of which only seems outrageous if you happen to lean left, though. They were just as outraged with the last guy, it evens out.

Of course it's all friggin' partisan, there's nothing non-partisan anymore. Hasn't been since the late 90s.

Liberals aren't pushing for renewable energies as a fu** you.
They aren't pushing for choice as a fu** you.
They aren't pushing for higher taxes for the wealthy as a fu** you.
They aren't pushing for International cooperation as a fu** you.
They aren't pushing for campaign finance reform as a fu** you.

No... those are just patriotic positions that all Americans should have, because the alternative is stupid and cruel.

There is no "clean" divide. Both sides are NOT equal. That's a conservative diversion tactic.. "oh psh, both sides are just as bad." No they aren't. Refusing to believe in climate change science and the scientific consensus is either a gigantic example of stupidity or a fu** you to your political rivals. Believing the scientific consensus is just being a reasonable human being.

And since basically every conservative position these days leads back to self interest... you can do this for almost every issue.

Conservatives got on the crazy bus 20 years ago... and now they want us all to believe that we're on one too. But it's not true. Facts and data matters; both sides aren't equal.

The House doesn't matter for nominations. This does indicate that he is a bit more worried about losing the Senate than we thought.

Good.

It would be hilarious if McConnell loses his seat to a radio host.

Sadly a lot gets under reported anymore. So many high profile scandals over shadow a lot of other important things happening.

Environmental issues in particular suffer from this. If you're not signed up to specific news letters, you'd never know half of the crap they're getting away with. Occasionally we see things like pipe line stories, pulling out of the Paris agreement, or taking global warming off of government websites. Sadly that all doesn't even cover half of the Trump admins attacks on the enviroment.

Sadly affairs with porn stars (not saying it's not a story worth reporting) are far flashier headline than what's happening to nature preserves, and national parks.

So, the Freedom Caucus has voted to support Rep. Jim Jordan, who is under fire for how much he knew about the Ohio State sex abuse scandal.

Which is certainly never going to backfire, right JoePa?

Cruz only has a 5 pt lead on his Dem opponent.

https://www.texastribune.org/2018/06/25/ted-cruz-beto-orourke-poll-5-points-texas-senate-race-uttt/

That is brown pants levels for the GOP in Texas.

While it's great Beto is down only 5 points a poll that has 17% undecided isn't really worth paying attention to

All that being said if the Dems could somehow manage to win this seat(very unlikely) I think more then any other place they could win, this would send shockwaves to the Tea Party types what the country thinks of them

If Beto wins it is because the Democrats bussed in illegal immigrants to vote for him.

Thus is the logic of the Republicans.

Three interns, all black, refused service by an Uber driver for having MAGA hats.

They should do what the left always does, threaten to sue, demand some ridiculous impractical Uber internal sensitivity training or some ****. Or play the race card.

No different to when it's an example convenient to you. Shoe, other, foot.

Also, shrink your snarky pics, that's one fatass retort.
