Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

I feel like if they don’t move on it reasonably soon though we’re all going to be so annoying. Like, every movie the fans are going to be like “is that Jean grey in that movie poster’s eyeball?”
I mean, that's nothing new. Some people were sure that the hex would create mutants, or that a Celestial event in Eternals would create them or that they would come from the multiverse in one of the projects about it. Everything was also always an infinity stone, or Mephisto, or a skrull. If there's an aerospace engineer it must be Reed Richards. There was totally a reflection of Deadpool in the Doctor Strange poster and the Illuminati was for sure going to have Tom Cruise as Superior Iron Man who we totally saw in the trailer (which was definitely not just Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel). Fans are going to do this with everything regardless.

Speculation will never end lol. The main thing is that the first MCU X-Men film needs to knock it out of the park to show that this is not part of what came before and the GA who pegged X-Men at a certain level can be surprised and hyped for something better. It’s not straightforward doing that with what they perceive to be a long running franchise. I want it asap but it’s much more important that it’s great when it comes rather than early and a 7/10 that is good but doesn’t move the needle or convince people that it’s a new era of higher quality and bigger budgets.

We all know Fox 19 years long franchise is a huge reason why Feige is taking his time. The last X-movie from the franchise was in 2019, with New mutants in 2020, so people still have those movies in mind somehow (the ones who saw them, I mean). That and Feige already had a lot of movies planned, so they cant rush the reboot. The X-Men needed a rest, as sad as that is, but needed a good rest, so both the fans and general audience will take the reboot with even more hype the day it gets announced. Because a reboot announced the same year as Dark Phoenix premiered wouldnt have had the same impact.

All that aside....... 2022 seems a great year to announce it :D :D :D

I personally don't have a fixed image in my mind of what a film Wolverine should look like this time around.

I can tell you that back in 98 or 99, Hugh Jackman, the song and dance man, didn't fit my image of what I felt a Wolverine actor should look like.

As far as Taron goes, I never consider him a pretty boy .
He had boyish looks much like Tom Holland, but the guy has aged .
He's 32 now.
This is a recent image of him from an upcoming film.

That ain't a pretty boy imo.
I'm guessing that's the look of the guy Feige is thinking of when he's approaching him for Wolverine.

But we'll see in terms of casting since I doubt he's the only actor Feige has talked to.

If he gets the role, I'll reserve judgement and give him a chance to prove himself.
Egerton would kill it.

I think this increases the possibility of not seeing Marvel Studios' X-Men in 2025.

Like I said before too many other ips getting own movies and aside from Gotg and Avengers, there are f4, Eternals and Thunderbolts. Thats a lot.

I'm hoping Marvel Studios are now phasing put Gotg, Thor and Ant-Man and they don't get their another headlining movie after their newest one, to make bigger room for the X-Men and other ips.

Egerton as Wolverine is cool.

But I'm sitting and waiting to see who will be MCU Storm.

Do you have good suggestions?
From what I've seen I would like Jodie Turner-Smith.

But there are other candidates I could see as well.

Like Anna Diop

Or Yetide Badaki.

I like Kiki, but with most of the pics she doesnt give me the imposing/regal/"larger than life" vibe from comics Storm. She has many great red carpet looks, of course, but Im talking about the vibe I get from her. She looks more "down to earth" to me.

Jodie on the other hand has that larger than life and strong presence I talk about, tho some days I miss something on her; while other days I love her the most. Its just such a complex character to cast, in terms of finding the perfect choice.

And that's why I have reservations against Turner-Smith. The woman is exquisite to look at yes, but some of her antics on social media that I've seen and her personality is not befitting of a goddess like Ororo IMO.

Here’s a cast that would work for me! I posted this a few months back but added in Egerton.

UNCANNY X-MEN

He's been suggested for Superman, but I could also see 6'5 Jacob Elordi as Colossus

Alexander Skarsgard as Sabretooth

Apparently one reason why she turned down the role of Xialing in Shang-Chi was that she wasn't ready to give up on a return as Colleen (among other reasons that made her do Matrix instead). If she does return as Colleen I'd go with Sonoya Mizuno as Psylocke

Some really great casting ideas in here, though Austin Butler as Cyclops and Justice Smith as Iceman are miles away from how I view those characters. I think it's clear from both of these threads that casting these characters is going to be an absolute nightmare though.
