Sly Cooper is a PS3 port, why would it not work on a home console version of a Vita? If every game requires extensive patching then... God damn. This is a nightmare.

This launch was rushed. No Netflix support even. You can download the app, but it's not supported. Same for Hulu and Youtube apparently.
Because the PS Vita runs Vita games, not PS3 games. The Vita version of Sly made use of motion controls and touch gestures on the screen and rearpad

No every game does not require extensive patching. That's not what was said here

The new 2.00 update and it's features detailed  I'm glad they're also starting to clean up the content area as well. I'm also curious about that USB music thing, I guess you have to leave the USB stick in there to play music and you can't fully transfer it over? Hmm, hopefully in the future then.

PS4’s upcoming system software 2.00, codenamed Masamune, adds some big features including Share Play, YouTube support, and Themes. With this update, there will be added a Players You May Know tile, the ability to listen to your music while gaming, the option to change the look of your PS4 experience, and easier ways to sort and filter your library of content on PS4.

USB Music Player: PS4 owners can play their own music in the background while playing a game using USB Music Player*. After inserting a USB stick loaded with music into the PS4, a new option for USB Music Player will appear. Supported filename extensions include MP3, MP4, M4A, and 3GP.

Change colors: In addition to the ability to add a theme, PS4 owners can also change the background of the home screen from light blue to one of seven new colors: gold, blue, red, green, purple, pink, and gray.

Players You May Know: PS4 will now suggest players you may know in the ‘What’s New’ section, recommending gamers your friends frequently play with.

Enhancements to Live Broadcasting: Masamune brings a variety of improvements to live broadcasting on PS4. In the Live From PlayStation app, PS4 owners can now select a Featured channel, which includes official broadcasts from PlayStation, broadcasts from people on a players friend list, and any game channel that the player has followed. Additionally, Live From PlayStation now has filters for searching broadcasts on a specific game, as well as support for archived broadcasts.

Content Area and Library: PS4’s Content Area, which shows the latest games and apps a PS4 owner has used, has been redesigned to help make it easier to quickly find and access content. It now shows 15 of a player’s most used apps or games, and additional items will be added to a player’s Library. The Library on PS4 has improved filter and sort functions to help organize contented by type (game / app / TV & video), name (a – z or z – a), recently used, or install date.

Enhanced Voice Commands: The ability to control PS4 using voice has been improved. Players can now say ‘PlayStation’ to begin commands, and ‘All Commands,’ to see a list of all voice command options available. New voice commands were added for live broadcasting, including “Start broadcast,” “End broadcast,” and “Find face.”

Add To Library: The monthly free PlayStation Plus games will have an ‘Add to Library’ button in the PlayStation Store. This button will add a game to a PS4 owner’s library without downloading it – saving space on their hard drive.
Back Up Data: Data on PS4 can be backed up and resorted using USB storage. This will back up all data for the console, including settings, save data, screenshots, video clips, download data, and more.

Here’s the full list of newly announced additions, via Sony:

Alongside the 2.00 update for PlayStation 4, Sony will also update PlayStation TV, PS Vita, and the PlayStation App. Sony’s detailed them below:
PS Vita and PS TV – 3.35 update, Live From PlayStation
The PS Vita and PS TV systems will also receive a system software update to version 3.35 with the same timing as Masamune, adding four-player Remote Play support to PS TV. In addition, the Live from PlayStation app, which allows users to watch live gameplay streams from PS4 systems, will be available on both PS Vita and PS TV alongside this update.
PlayStation App 2.0 update
The PlayStation App for smartphones and tablets, available free on the App Store and Google Play, is also set to receive an update to version 2.0 within the same launch window as both the PS4 and PS Vita system software updates. This update provides a new layout for tablets, and the app’s home screen has been redesigned.
Sony will share more information on the 2.00 update in the near future. The update is set to launch this fall.

so does the USB Music Player just play music? what about video? pictures?

and I wonder if Theme support means we can use our own pictures as the background or if we have to get already made themes from the PSN store.......

its a music player. Would have said media if it encompassed all that

yeah. it does just say music. but then it says it supports mp4 files, and I normally associate mp4 with videos.

are there mp4 music files?

but really, if it's just a music player, I must say that's even more disappointing. It's taken them almost one full year to come out with a media player and it only supports a few music files??!! Really, Sony??!!

No videos? No pictures? Just music?

c'mon.........

I'm looking to sell some games and wanted to run some prices by you guys and see if they are fair.

Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag - $25
Infamous Second Son - $25
NBA2K15 - $50 (don't like it)

Too low, too high? Was going to put it up on craigslist for $100

mp4 is a container file and can contain either video, audio or both. By and large its used for the latter.

Those are all fair and reasonable

I think $100 total will put people off, especially as they are different types of game and many might just want 1 or 2 out of the 3 and not want to buy an almost full price NBA game too. Grouping Infamous with Black Flag could work but I'd definitely at least list the NBA game separately.

I thought about that. I know I can get $40 for it at Gamestop right now but they won't give me crap for the other 2. I don't want to mess around with eBay either. I'll probably post them up tomorrow since people will be getting paid.

Ok good one on getting rid of something quick if you know it's not for you while it still has a lot of value. NBA not that good?

ah. ok. thanks.

but in this case, the PS4 will only support mp4 audio files, right?

and that's just kind of pathetic, imo.

I'm sure it'll be up date as state later to allow video they did said they weren't done as my quote stated at the bottom.

I just don't like that it doesn't have any training so you can get better. They just expect that you know how to play it and I don't. Awesome graphics and the face scan was cool. It just comes with directions and half of it makes no sense to me. At least with Madden it trains you so you can learn how to play it.

That's strange. I've found some sports games put me through a super-long compulsory training session when I 1st play the game and just want to get right into the action and then hide it away when I actually want to learn all the new stuff. The training stuff should always be available for people who want to learn but I also prefer to learn one new thing at a time rather than everything in one go like some of them seem to do.

This just dumped me right into a game and no way to get out of it. I guess it was testing what level I was at. I'm just not familiar with the concepts of basketball and really wanted some training. I tried career mode but it just dumped me into a tryout. So I'm just gonna sell it and pick up NHL 15

hopefully.

but that's kind of bad communication/pr strategy to just release info in drips.

and we still don't have a release date, either.

I love the info for the new upcoming software update and more is supposed to be listed later. Yeah it could be better and options are always nice but it's at least way better than nothing and definitely not"more disappointing",So I'm thankful Sony finally got to work on this stuff and reveal an update on them.

I can't wait to start sorting out my content and change my background color to black.

I've played pretty much every type of sports game but never been able to get good at a hockey game.

oh, don't get me wrong. it's at least a step in the right direction. and hopefully there will be more to come.

but, if 2.0 releases and it just supports USB music playback, and then we have to wait another 2 or 3 months for update 2.1 to get video, then that won't be very frustrating.
