Going from all that we've seen. Doesn't appear to be hurting the core game that much.

Hope not. Altho thats the first thing I'm going to use as an argument if we get another mediocre Spidey title. Not the shortened dev time, not the creative constraints, but Stan Lee.

...because Stan Lee forced his way into this game...forced the developer and programmers to put him in this game...riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii*gasp*iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

If you can still see damage in the suit and be able to repair it?

Rhino looks a little like George W. Bush...

Stan Lee is a skin. His side mission are just some collectibles. The most extensive work put into this dlc would be the 6 hours spent recording lines of Stan Lee's dialogue.

And I think all totally worth it. This is ten times funnier for any Marvel fan than having ****ty cosmic pre-order suits or unlockable weapons or anything like that.

I would say this even beats a lot of the Arkham City costumes. The equivalent for Batman would be to get an Adam West Batman suit with Adam West dialogue. How is that not hilarious?!?

As a batfan, I think it would be epic.

Perfect investment

What's wrong with cosmic pre-order? And what is funny about cosmic?

Ok, I'd love to have such a costume

if you guys really think making a skin is so expensive and time consuming.. then you need a double check. There's a reason so many people make mods for games on computers to add different skins.... It's a miniscule expense that takes no funds away from anything else.

Didn't you know, spideyboy...we have some bona fide video game programmers and developers in here who totally know what they're talking about! Some of them must actually be an major part of the development for the actual game I'm sure. Why else would they know so much :wow:

It's not like a game developer develops everything they'd set out to with the time they have available before adding in bonuses like a Stan Lee skin, heavens no! It's not like they have a large enough staff to work on the main game and bonus features at the same time giving both plenty of care either...it's clearly impossible!

yeah.. skins are usually an after thought. The argument is a little bit different when you throw in more detail than just skins (like catwoman and co in AC) but that didn't effect AC at all

Wrong.

Rule 1 for games development, 'for everything you do, thats another thing that you can't do'. The former lead designer for the Madden series, Ian Cummings, used to constantly say that when fans were b****ing for left out features in Madden(small features, like various styles of dreadlocks). It doesnt matter how large your team, things get left out due to budget and time constraints. There is no "skin" button. You dont just click a button and it appears in your game. Having the Stan Lee challenge or whatever WILL take away from something else in the game, rather that be time spent on polish or other gameplay enhancements. Thinking otherwise is just ridiculous and shows a complete lack of understanding of what goes into the production of a game. Now granted maybe this challenge didn't take much to create, maybe it was only 3 hours worth of dev time, but imo, thats 3 hours too much and that 3 hours could of been spent doing anything else. Some may love the idea of controlling a Stan Lee in this game and thats great, i think its a waste of time, regardless of the amount spent.

skins and challenges are soo simple and easily done. They're right up there for the most part as changing the color of a skin. (one of my best friends works for Treyarch and i've asked him that very question) it's a really easy, simple and cost effective way to make more money, when in reality.. that little extra money spent isn't nearly as expensive as programing an extra feature to the entire game or move set.

You'd think hair styles would also be simple and easily done, yet they get left out in games like Madden. Simple reason for it is something else took precedent. Same thing here. It doesnt matter how simple a job, something will get left out(even if its minor polish). Some may not care at all and just want to play as Stan, to which i say hey go for it. I rather not have him in the game and that time be spent on something, anything, else. Thats me tho.

hair styles can be problimatic though, because you're A) designing more than a few types.. most games have about 20.. sometimes a little under, some alot more. B) depends on the detail in that does the hair move? C) why are people caring what football player's hair looks like when they're wearing helmets????

I'd say your point would be valid if there were 20+ different costumes that actually functioned differently (like Spider-Man Shattered Demensions had)

All this crap about the preorders for the extra playable characters means absolutely nothing at this point. Nothing!

We still haven't seen actual gameplay and that is the only thing that actually matters. Well, there's the story and side missions and stuff like that too, but if the gameplay is bad, the rest of that stuff doesn't mean squat.

I've been very excited for this game over the past few months until recently, Activision's marketing strategy has been wearing on me. I'm not an impatient fellow by any means, but I swear, if I hear one more Web Rush description or any other description of gameplay or any other added crap features without seeing some gameplay, I'll just be upset. lol. There's not much else I can do but at this point, color me frustrated.

Not really, the only hair styles that matter in say madden are the hair styles that come out the back of the helmet, i.e. dreadlocks. Its a big thing within the hardcore Madden community. Go to any sports gaming site and i guarantee you, you will find a thread complaining about dreadlocks, or the lack thereof. Madden and NCAA only has one style of dreadlocks and the more vocal of the community want multiple styles as individual players have various styles and lengths of dreads. Multiple designers for the two series have come out and said they want to give the community more, but dreadlocks aren't high on their 'to do list'(not really gonna argue with them on that).

And that was my point, the hairstyles in Madden/NCAA are really static, there isn't a high level of detail to them but yet the team doesnt get around to adding more simply due to other thing they need to accomplish in the time they have.

Again, some people will be thrilled to have Stan Lee in the game, but i look at it as, what else could of been done. I dont care to play as the guy, in fact, i will give out my Stan Lee code to whoever wants it, when i get the game(as i always go with Amazon)

I agree man. I find it funny, odd, disturbing that titles that are set to drop in November have more unedited gameplay footage than this title. which is set to drop next month.

With all this talk about pre-order extras, if the whole Stan Lee thing is not the players cup of tea......just don't download that dlc then. IMO, I think it's cool to have him in a wacky sense, but I really don't see myself jumping through any hoops to play as him. This kind of thing has been going since way back, hell, you guys remember when Snoop Dogg was a playable character in True Crime: Streets of L.A., he had no real purpose for being there and his actions in real life contradict his crime stopping antics in game, but case in point, additions like that are not to be taken seriously, if you want step outside the box of the game, playing as oddball characters may help you kill more time with the game.

Assassin's Creed 3 just got a gameplay trailer today...the game comes out in October...Just thought I'd throw that out there...
