Sony is already being dumb with their plans for a Solo Venom movie that isn't related to the Tom Holland Spiderman movie. I really wish Marvel had more control and think this partnership has the potential to end badly because of Rothman or Avi Arad.

I highly doubt Sony is not letting Marvel use Spidey in the marketing, if he's not being promoted is probably because Marvel doesn't want to.

Exactly.

Spiderman isn't in this movie to boost sales for Marvel (of course it's not going to hurt). Sony is the studio that wanted Marvels help- this movie is going to boost sales of the new Spiderman franchise for Sony. Which btw, Sony will probably never give the rights up for- they have no reason to do so.

It makes no sense mainly because once the film hits theaters everyones gonna have images and video of Spidey. So Sony is out of luck if theyre trying to bar people from seeing him esp online.

But why? we've got two rumors claiming that Sony is the one keeping Spidey out of marketing and the fact that they just greenlit a Venom movie that has nothing to do with Tom's Spider-Man just clarifies the fact that they haven't changed one bit. It's not hard to believe at all.
